Chapter 12
Ali's P.O.V.

I could hear Matt talking. Telling me everything, but I couldn't open my eyes or say anything. I wanted to so bad. I could hear the pain in his voice.  "I want you to know, I love you" I heard him say.  I willed myself to open my eyes, and there he was. "I love you too, Matt" I said with tears rolling down both of our cheeks.
"Ali you're okay.. Oh my God thank you.." He mumbled.  I couldn't stop crying. "Matt that was the best thing I've ever heard in my life." I said.  "Well it's all true.." He said quietly.

The doctor came in to check on me, ruining our moment.  "Alison glad to see you're awake.. I honestly didn't think you'd ever wake up." He said. A couple minutes later he said that I was free to go, but my parents weren't answering their phones. Matt jumped into the conversation, "I could call my mom, she would come get us. We could bring Ali home in the morning"    The doctor spoke, "Alison with you be okay with that?"  "yeah sure." I said smiling. Matt called his mom and she was on her way.  He helped me get up and walked me down to the lobby and outside.  He practically carried me, because I wasn't exactly ready to walk yet. Everything hurt.

His mom pulled up and we both sat in the back seat. "Hi, so this is the famous Ali I've been hearing about." She said. I laughed a little, Matt was blushing. "Hi Mrs. Russo. Yeah I guess" I said. "Thanks for picking me up and letting me stay the night."  "Oh no problem, by the way are you okay?" she questioned as we pulled up to the house. "Yes I'm fine thanks."

Matt carried me upstairs to his room, carefully letting me lay on his bed. He decided he would sleep on the floor.  My phone was still in my pocket and it buzzed.  A text from Beth. 'Hey hun. Hows the hospital feeling? ;) ' it said.  I sighed and Matt took my phone. All of the sudden he called Beth. "Hey Beth? alright, leave my girlfriend alone. I love her. not you. We are absolutely over. I don't even want to be your friend anymore okay? got it? Leave both of us alone and find something better to do than try to tear us apart. okay bye now. And if there's any confusion, this is Matt speaking." and he hung up.

I smiled as he handed me back my phone. "Thanks"  I said.
"yeah well I doubt you'll be hearing from her anytime soon" he replied.
He got up and lay behind me on his bed, wrapping his arms gently around my waist. I smiled. "Goodnight Matt"  "Night Ali."  He started snoring and I knew he was asleep.
He was the best.  So far this summer wasn't exactly what I expected,

but hey, it isn't ordinary.
