It Takes Two....
chapter 6
The next morning I woke up in my own bed the next morning.
I could smell breakfast from the kitchen downstairs and heard a faint hum.
I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
There was Clare flipping blueberry pancakes.
“Good morning sunshine!” She said smiling.
“Morning Clare.” I smiled back and sat at the kitchen table.
She put a whopping plate of pancakes in front of me and I devoured.
“What time did you get home last night?” She asked.
“Um, midnight.” I knew everyone was asleep so I exaggerated the time a little.
“Thank you Clare.” I said putting the plate in the sink and went upstairs.
I checked my Skype and realized I had 3 missed calls, all from Holly. Checked my emails. Then I closed my computer and went into my closet to pick out an outfit.
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=93646143
I decided to walk around town today.
I set out on my short journey.
Every shop I walked by I peeked inside.
Some workers knew Lucy so we stirred up conversations then.
Otherwise I looked at the various objects including candles, sewing kits, and tourist items like mugs, t-shirts, sweatshirts and magnets.
I ended up buying a mug and got a chocolate ice cream at a nearby homemade ice cream shop. It was delicious.
“Hi Sam!” I looked up and saw Andy in soccer uniform, boys in the same ones following.
“Hi!” I waved back.
He ordered an ice cream and walked over to me.
“How’s it going?” He asked, shoving a spoonful of Oreo ice cream in his mouth.
I nodded, “Good, and you?”
“Great, just won both soccer games.”
“I didn’t know you played soccer.”
“Yeah, for the athletic center, Blake used to play in high school, but quit to work. It’s a shame…he was really good. “
"Huh, I never knew that.” I scraped the last of my ice cream and threw it away.
“Did you guys leave the party early? I didn’t see you after I chased down An.”
“Oh, no we left.”
“Oh, well hey, I don’t know if Blake mentioned it you, but we’re all going down to the park tomorrow if you want to tag along. Just to barbeque and play games. Kind of a tradition before school starts up and we all go our separate ways.”
I totally had forgotten about school and college.
I choked on my saliva taking in the realization.
“Yeah…sure!”
“Alright, cool.” He lightly hit my arm, “Well, I’ll see you around.”
“Cya.”
He walked towards the team and I began walking back to my house.
When I got there, there was  a rusty green truck sitting by the driveway. I walked up the driveway and saw Blake with an older man working on a sprinkler.
Blake saw me and walked over. He kissed my cheek, “Hey.”
“Hey, um, can we talk?”
He looked over his shoulder at the man, “Yeah, sure, but first I want you to meet someone.”
He led me over to the man. “Hey dad, this is Sam. Sam, this is my dad.”
The man stood up from the underground sprinkler and wiped the sweat off his forehead with his arm. He looked eerily like Blake, same face and focused look. But had less hair and not as muscular.
“Pleasure, you can call me George.” He stuck out his hand and shook mine, smiling.
"Nice to meet you George," I said back, smiling.
Blake and I walked by the truck.
He leaned on it, “What’s up?”
I took a deep breath it and let it out, unsteadily. “When do you go back?” I asked.
“Go back where?”
“To college?”
He looked at his shoes. “Two weeks.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” My voice got stern.
“I didn’t want to think about it.”
“We’re going to be so far away and so busy…”
He scratched his forehead.
“When will we see each other? Talk? What did you think we were going to do?”
He didn’t say anything. I looked at his face, him still looking at his shoes.
I turned around, arngy, and walked inside, up to my room and flopped on my bed. A tear slid down my cheek.

chapter 5

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=93527921
The best part about having a young Aunt to live with is her great sense of style. I slipped on a sundress and sandals and slid my hair up in a messy bun. I heard the soft hum of the familiar jeep and walked outside to see Blake in shorts and a colored v-neck.
"So what adventure do you have for us today?" I jokingly asked.
He laughed and turned on the radio. We drove into town and went into a neighborhood I've never been in before. The houses became more and more stretched out until we came to the end of a street that almost looked like it was in the middle of nowhere.
There were cars parked everywhere and people were running in the house. I could hear music blasting from the inside.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“Your first college party in California.” He said, opening my door helping me hop out.
We walked in holding hands; random guys yelling out “hi” to Blake.
Once we got inside Anastasia tripped in front of us holding a beer in her hand.
“Why is she here?” Laughed. And walked away, Andy slowly following.
We went into the kitchen, “Want a drink?” Blake asked.
“No thanks.” He grabbed a beer for himself, chugged half of it, and set it down.
The house was smelt of weed and alcohol drifting in the air.
I never drank; I would be immediately put into rehab because of my family’s history.
Wiz Khalifa’s music was the background to the loud talking and screaming of drunken college kids.
Blake and I danced a little, but I could tell he knew I wasn’t enjoying myself.
He leaned it, “Let’s go upstairs.” He grabbed my hand and led me to a room.
He closed the door and sat on the bed. I sat next to him.
He grabbed my face and softly kissed me.
I could taste the faint beer but enjoyed his kiss anyways.
The door flew open and a guy looked at us, "GUYS YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!"
We shrugged and followed the guy outside to a huge circle of people surrounding 2 guys beating eachother up. Everyone was yelling at them, taking sides, and betting on who would win.
“Want to go somewhere else?” He leaned over and asked, I nodded.
We ran back to his jeep and he started to drive away.
We pulled into another unfamiliar driveway; this time into a small, tan, ranch.
We walked inside and he flicked on the lights. “This is my house.”
To the right was a small kitchen; behind the kitchen was a family room with a clunky TV set and a love seat. There was a long hallway that connected his bedroom and his dad’s bedroom.
We walked in Blake’s bedroom. There was a small bed in one corner, a dresser in another with a small TV on top, posters of football cheerleaders covered the walls, along with concert posters, pictures of friends, and family, there was a desk with unfinished work on it and a lamp with its light still on, the floor was wooden but had one large carpet that covered most of the space. The last wall had a huge dresser full of movies stacked on top of eachother.
“I like movies.” He chuckled. I scanned them, seeing all the classics. I felt his warm breath on my neck and he kissed it, turning me around to kiss my lips. I smiled and held his face. We slowly laid down on his bed, him on top. After our kissing, we slowly began undressing eachother..A start to a night I will never forget...

Chapter 4

I woke up to Lucy blasting music and her obnoxious laughing.
I went downstairs and saw her in a yellow sundress with a white apron on top.
Gerald was in pajama bottoms and a white t-shirt; they were cooking together.
“Good to see you again kiddo.” Lucy said hugging me. I hugged back,
“You too. What’re you making?”
“Try it!” She blared with a big smile on her face that stretched from ear to ear.
“It’s a crepe.” Gerald said. I grabbed one and took a small bite. Barely any of it was mixed and I tasted raw blueberries and flour.
My face scrunched up.
“It isn’t good is it?” Lucy asked, biting her bottom lip.
I shoved the mixture down.
“I’m not really a crepe fan.” I lied so I didn’t hurt her feelings. “Why are you so nice?! I know it’s terrible.” She laughed.
“Where is Clare anyways?” I asked.
“It’s her day off.” She answered.
I nodded.
They began cleaning up their cooking mess and I grabbed a yogurt and went upstairs.
~
When I was getting dressed I heard an awful noise outside.
I opened the white French doors on the front of my room and I looked over the little porch railing.
There was Blake.
His shirt off and he had cut jean shorts.
His muscles flexed as he dug in the ground with a large electric shovel.
Sweat was dripping down his body making his skin shine in the beaming sun.
I ran downstairs and outside on the front porch.
“Hey gardener-guy.” I said, smiling.
He looked up from his work taking out an ear bud.
He smiled. “Why hello there.”
I walked down the porch stairs and walked to him. I kissed him. “Busy today?” He asked.
“I think I can clear my schedule.”
“Great, I’ll pick you up at 4.” He went back to work.
I sat on the porch watching him, every now and than he would look up to see if I was still there.
“Are you stalking me?” He asked.
I bit my bottom lip.
“How’d you know?”
“Lucky guess. Hey, do me a favor and go do something fun.”
“Like what?” “I don’t know, use your noggin, you’re still young.”
I sighed, “I guess if you really want me to leave…” I stood up; he winked at me and went back to work.
I went to the kitchen and ate a banana, went to the living room and watched a couple minutes of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant with Lucy, checked my email in the library, wandered upstairs, and unpacked more boxes.
I went on the laptop in my room and logged onto Skype for the first time in forever.
Sure enough, my old best friend Holly was online.
I called her. “OH MY GOSH, SAMANTHA!” she screamed, “I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN FOREVER! Where have you been! Why haven’t you been in school! I tried calling you! No one picked up! I’ve been worried sick!”
“I’m fine Holly, really.” I laughed.
“Tell me where you’ve been!”
“My mom finally got sent to rehab so I moved in with my Aunt.” Her mouth dropped open and she covered it with her hand.
“Did she really? How’d she get caught?”
I shrugged, “They just came one day while she was passed out and told me to pack my bags.”
“I’m so sorry.” She whispered. “Where does your Aunt live?” she asked stuffing her face with potato chips, she was always eating. “California.” I gloated.
“Serious?! Girl, you need to get me down there. Do you like it?”
I nodded, “It’s great.”
“Any guys?” I drew in a big breath smiling. “Spill it!” she pleaded. “Well his name is Blake.” I scratched my forehead, not knowing what else to say.
“How’d you meet? How old is he? What’s he look like? What’s he like? Can he drive? Does he work?”
“Well,” I began. “He works for my Aunt, he’s 20, he’s tan, he’s nice and he drives a jeep!”
“20? DAMN GIRL! GET IT!” I laughed. I looked at the clock; 3 o’clock.
“Well, I got to go.” I said.
She pouted, “Fine, I miss you.”
I nodded, “Miss you too, we’ll have to do this again okay?” “Defiantly, oh and Duncan asked about you.”
“Really?” I got excited and my eyes widened.
“I’ll give him your Skype.”
“Alright, bye.” I said and hung up the call.
Duncan was my first kiss last year and I dumped him because I had too many home problems.

I remembered his perfect skin. The way it glowed in the sun. I remembered his soft lips against mine, fitting mine perfectly. I remember every time I was with him I was happy, and forgot all my problems. I remembered the way our fingers intertwined perfectly and the way he said I was beautiful. We would always talk about our future and I was planning moving in with him after high school. He was the only person besides Holly I told everything to. The first time he said he loved me was the day I left him…

I sighed, and got ready.

Chapter 3- Part 2

The wind caught every hair on my body and pulled it back.
It got cold and I felt my bikini loosen.
I forced my eyes open and it was as if my stomach was left at the top of the cliff.
My brain was empty and I began to scream.
The icy cold water hit my toes first than the rest of my body sank beneath the water.
I swam up to the surface spitting out salt water.
Blake came up to the surface also.
I threw my head back in laughter.
“That was amazing!” I screamed, still laughing.
I looked around and his friends were sitting on the bay.
Behind Blake, Andy and Anastasia came diving in.

I than realized my bikini bottom wasn’t on anymore.
My eyes got wide.
“What is it?” Blake asked.
“My bikini isn’t on my anymore.”
He chuckled.
I went underwater and saw a light pink piece of fabric floating down.
I dived under and swam after it.
When I began to come up my foot caught on something, I forced my way up but my foot was still stuck.
I swam down towards my foot and saw something wrapped around my foot.
I tried untying it, but it didn’t work.
I forced myself up and I didn’t budge.
Right above me was Blake and I wanted to scream to him.
My hands reached up and I started to squirm.
My eyes began to close, No, don’t I told myself. Don’t… black… out…

I felt strong arms around bring me up.
I crashed to the surface, coughing.
Blake held me close,
“Are you ok?” he whispered.
I nodded. I stopped coughing and put my bikini bottom back on.
We swam back to shore.
“You ok, kid?” asked Andy.
“Young kids like you shouldn’t be out here anyways.” Said Brad lighting another cigarette.
I knotted my brow.
“Stop being so rude Brad,” giggled Anastasia, also lighting a cigarette.
I sat down on Blake’s lap and he kept me warm as I shivered.
“I’m not that young,” I exclaimed.
Brad chuckled.
Moments went by when no one talked.
“Alright, I don’t know about you guys but I’m going swimming, she grabbed a snorkel from a waterproof backpack she had brought, stood up, fixed her bikini bottom and ran into the ocean, Andy quickly following.
Brad and Chuck went to go off the cliff again and Elliot went to go look for some firewood.
It was just Blake and I left.
"Don't mind Brad, he can be a jerk." Blake said.
“I’m sorry,” I said softly.
“For what?”
“Being so young,” I said jokingly, he laughed.
“Don’t be,” he said kissing the top of my head, “Don’t be,” he echoed.

Thank you for reading! Im thinking about posting pictures of my characters. Any thoughts?

It Takes Two....

Chapter 3- Part 1

I was laying in bed eating a blueberry pancake that Clare had made for me.
I gulped down the orange juice and got dressed.
I threw my hair in a loose braid and pinned the loose hairs back.
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=41543494
I went downstairs to see a strange man sitting at the table. He had dark brown hair that was greased back; he had on a suit and was drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.
“Um, hi, you must be Gerald.”
He looked up, “You must be the famous Samantha.” He said, in a French accent.
I nodded and smiled. “Pleased to met you.” He said, taking my hand and kissing it.
One eyebrow raised, but I quickly faked a smile when he looked up.
Before it got anymore creepier the doorbell rang.
“I better go get that.” I pleaded, removing my hand from his.
I wiped his slobber on my shorts on my way to the door.
I opened it up and there was Blake, in a black tank top and black swim trunks with different colored Hawaiian flowers. A smile spread across my face.
“Grab your swim suit we’re going to the beach.”
“You don’t have to work?”
“Not today.” I ran upstairs and dug through the boxes in my room. I finally found a light pink bikini and slid it on, putting my clothes on top.
I ran downstairs and outside, closing the door behind me. We hopped in his jeep.
“Wow, this is nice.”
He tapped the jeep,“Got it for a gift couple years back. It’s my baby.” He said, winking at me.
We backed out of the driveway and headed towards the beach.
He turned on the radio and loud music blasted. My braid whipped in the wind.
I felt free.
The song changed and an old acoustic song came on. I gasped and looked at him, he laughed as I sang along.
My body began to move to the beat and he sat there laughing at me.
He pulled into a parking spot that looked over a small cliff than the calm ocean. He got out and rushed to my side and opened the door.
He grabbed my hand and I jumped out. There were other people parked next to us.
“Hey Blake!” yelled a big buff guy. He had short blonde hair and dark brown eyes.
“Hey guys, this is Sam.” He was still holding my hand.
“Finally, Blake, haven’t had a girl in forever.” said the big blonde; he winked at me. What did he mean?
Blake stood up straighter and cleared out his throat.
“Sam, this is Andy,” he pointed to the big blonde, “Brad,” a tall guy smoking, “Chuck,” an African-American who was built and short, “and Elliot.” He had a long ponytail and he was skinny but muscular.
The door to one of the vans opened and a tall skinny girl with long blonde hair jumped out. She had on a skimpy bikini and looked great. She made my petite body feel insecure.
“This is my babe Anastasia,” said Andy, putting his arm around her and kissing her forehead.
“All right, alright, let’s go.” said Brad, spitting out his cigarette. We all began to walk up the hill onto the edge of a cliff.
“What’re we doing up here?” I asked Blake. He winked at me, “We are going to have a hell of a time.”
“So, who’s going first?” asked Andy. Everyone paused for a little,
“Me!” offered Elliot. He started back and sprinted towards the end, diving into the ocean.
We all peeked our heads over the cliff watching him dive into the ocean, a little splash coming up.
He came out of the water and raised his fists screaming.
Brad did a canon ball after him.
Chuck followed him wiggling everywhere.
“Let’s go,” said Blake, pulling me, I stood still my hands sweating,
“You’ve never done this before have you?” I shook my head.
“Come on, it’ll be fun,” I breathed in deeply. He kissed me,
“I won’t let anything happen to you.”
I forced a smile on my face, “Let’s go.” I said, he smiled back; we walked over to the edge holding hands.
“Go on wimps,” said Andy. I closed my eyes and squeezed Blake’s hand. We both jumped.

Chapter 2

Long lonely days went by, they consisted of me swimming in Aunt Lucy’s pool,
playing board games with her maid, Clare (who claimed she was older than dirt), playing fetch with her pink poodle (yes pink), Cotton Candy, and eating popsicles.

I was lonely and Aunt Lucy forbade me to leave the house while she traveled back to Colorado to pick up her new husband, Gerald,
whom I’ve never met before, from a business trip.

One day as I was in her library reading Guinness Book of World Records the doorbell rang.
I went to open the door and peeked through the peephole, I smiled, seeing Blake.
I opened up the door. “Hello.” I said.
“Hi, is Lucille home yet?” He asked.
“Sorry, no.”
“Oh, well, she was supposed to call my dad about next months schedule, but she hasn’t yet.”
“She’s in Colorado picking up Gerald.” His eyes scrunched together as if he looked worried.
“Oh, ok… Can I come in?”
“Sure!”
He came inside. Cotton Candy ran to the door and licked his hand as he scratched her.
“So what have you been doing while she has been gone?”
“Just hanging around… chess, popsicles, and Guinness Books really.”
I looked down at my shoe and smirked. He chuckled.
“That sounds fun… Can you show me the books? I’ve never read one before.”
“Well, than you’re missing out on a lot.” We laughed.
We made out way over to the library where I showed the Guinness Book of World Records to him.
We sat there for about an hour laughing at the funny records, gagging at the gross ones, and gasping at the amazing ones. We went through last years and did the same thing.
After we finished looking through that book we went to go put the books back on the shelves.
I bent down and slid the book back in its place.
When I stood up Blake was standing right in front of me. My nose was at his chest and I could smell mint, grass, and a tiny whiff of cologne.
I looked up, he had a faded farmers tan where his t-shirt neckline fell. I looked up more. His face was looking at mine and he began to lean in.
His lips pressed against mine, they felt smooth and amazing. He backed his head up and realized I didn’t mind it so he went in for another one… and another one… and another one…
I put my arms around his neck and his slid on my lower back. He leaned me on the bookshelf and rubbed my back. My hands ran through his hair. All you could hear was the soft sounds of our lips and us breathing.
We moved to the chair and continued our make out session. Ten minutes went by when his phone beeped. He swore to himself and got off me.
“I gotta go.” He said, looking at his phone.
“Ok, I’ll walk you out.” I offered. We walked out of the library and went to the front door. He stood outside as I held the door open. “See you later?” He asked.
“Yes, of course.” I smiled.
“Bye.” He smiled back, gave me one more kiss and left.
I shut the door and took a big sigh, smiling even more.

Chapter 1

I took a last glance at my old apartment.
A tear ran down my cheek.
A suitcase in each arm.

"C'mon..." yelled my impationt Aunt, Lucy.
I was moving in with her since my mom went to rehab.
Lucy was young and glamorous, the opposite of my mom.
I stuffed my bags in the backeat of her smart car and climed up front.
We were in Texas, and on our way to Lucy's house.
Which was of course a large beach house along the California ocean.
When we got on the road, she blasted rap and sang along to it, knowing every word.
After awhile the awful music rang in my ear.
I reached over to turn it down.
"Sorry..." she said.
"Youre fine"
I put my earbuds in my ear, drowning out the outside world and slowly drifted to sleep.
**
"WERE HOME!" a voice yelled in my ear.
I jumped and opened my eyes to see Lucy's smiling face in mine.
She grabbed my suitcases and skipped up her driveway, me following.
The house was huge and white a little fountain sat in the corner of her yard and a baskeball hoop was attached to the top of the garage.
The trees and buches were each perfectly trimmed and the perfect shade of green.
Everything, so perfect.
I walked inside to a big opening.
"Folllllllllow meeeeeeeeeee!" Lucy exclamed running up a large staircase.
I followed her upstairs into a big deep orange room.
Half of my stuff was already moved in and it looked wonderful
and a part of me was still showing in my room.
"Oh! i totally forgot..." she walked to the doorway,"BLAKE!" she yelled.
A handsome guy with a toned body and a perfect tan walked in.
He waved slightly.
"This is my...-our gardener's son, he helps a lot around the house with mechanics and stuff."
"Hi, nice to meet you," his rich voice filled the room and he extended a hand.
"Nice to meet you too, Im Samantha, but you can call me Sam." I said, shaking his hand.
"Im Blake"
Maybe i would like it here after all.
