"You'll never make it without me." said Lydia, smiling jokingly.
"How will I ever survive in California for three months without you?" I replied, dramatically.
"You will call me every hour, text me at least five thousand times a day, email me seven days a week if not more.." We burst into a laughing fit. We are all but rolling on the floor when I hear my mom speak up, 
"Sam, time to go, chop chop. You don't want to miss your plane!" I give Lydia a hug. 
"I'm going to miss you so much Lyd." She gave me a sympathetic look.
"I know. I'm going to miss you too. But seriously, call me everyday. These will be the shortest three months of your life!" I rolled my eyes.
"I doubt it." 
"Samantha, let's go!" I groan in frustration. Well, not really, its more to exaggerate how much I really don't want to go spend three long months with my father. 
"Coming, mother dearest!" I gave Lydia one last hug and got into the passenger seat of my mom's range rover.
"Are you excited?" She asked me as I climbed in.
"Hmph." She sighed.
"Sam, I know you don't like your father, heck, you barely know your father, but give him a chance."
"You already did that mom, and he let you and me down."
"Sam you know that your father my divorce was mutual. Be nice."
"Yeah, yeah." The rest of the ride was silent until we got to the airport. My mom helped me get my luggage out of the back of the car and carry it to the plane. She hugged and kissed me. We exchanged "I love you"'s and I got on the plane. 
I felt it take off of the platform and we were off to The Golden State of California. Oh joy.
