You take out that blade. The one sitting in your room for the longest time. You're crying and don't know what to do. Everyone is mad at you for some reason and people at school are making fun of you. You cant take it anymore. You've heard of people self-harming and promised it would never be you. Now you just cant help it. You raise the blade up to your arm. You're about to make your first cut. As the blade glides along your skin, you cringe but it feels good. You look down and see a little bit of blood. Its not deep enough. You do it again. And again. Before you know it you have cuts up your arm. Now you think to yourself. How am I going to hide this. Its a good thing its winter. You can just wear long sleeves. Your excuse if people see? Your cat attacked you. No one can know. Its your little secret.

Is it a bad thing to smile a lot? Is it a bad thing to not frown, to just smile about everything? Is it bad to walk around with your head up with a little smile on your face? I really need to know because people keep telling me to stop and telling me its stupid or creepy.

Dear 2013, I know its hard, but try to make my life a little bit better. No heart breaks this year. Don't let me lose a friend or family. Please let this be a better year. No more moving around. No more sitting by myself at lunch. Please let me see what's good in my life. Let me win this year. Please.
