Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 21
The sun was beginning to setting, but the party on the yacht was still going on.
People were now turning up the music and dancing on the deck.
I was sitting alone on a sunchair, leaning agaisnt the back of the chair.
I watched as Alex and Addison danced freely around the deck, laughing at every movement.
"Colby, do you mind getting the drinks out from the fridge?" Gerald called out, from the opposite side of the deck.
I sighed, as I perked up from my chair.
I staggered towards the screen doors, which led to the inside of the yacht.
As I began to close the screen door, a hand stuck out to stop me.
I looked up to see Harry's rosy lips curved into a soft smile.
"Do you want help? Beer bottles are heavy." he smiled.
I bit my lip to prevent from smiling back, as I nodded.
We headed to the kitchen, as I opened the fridge.
I handed Harry two large boxes of beer.
Harry brushed his fingers with mine as I handed him the boxes of beer.
My fingers began to tingle with an anticipating feeling, as my face flared.
To prevent him from seeing my flushed face, I turned back to face the fridge.
I grabbed two boxes of soda, one Coke and one Sprite.
I avoided looking at Harry as we headed back out to the deck.
Harry lifted his boxes effortlessly, while I struggled.
We settled the drinks on a table, as everyone began rushing to the table to get themselves a drink.
Harry and I were trapped in a small crowd of thirsty dancers.
Harry immediately reached for my hand, interwining our fingers.
My eyes widened, as Harry pulled me out of the crowd.
"Are you okay? Did anyone push you?" Harry worriedly asked.
My breath was held in, and I found myself unable to speak.
I decided to shake me head, as my eyes slowly fell downward, staring at our hands.
I gasped, as my eyes shot back up.
I saw Harry noticing that our hands were still held together, tightly.
He swiftly pulled away, as his face turned into a shade of crimson pink.
I bit the insides of my cheeks, trying to convince myself that he was not blushing.
"S-sorry." he muttered, shaking the hair away from his eyes.
I took in a small breath. "It's no big deal."
I found myself lost in Harry's blazing blue green eyes, as the world that revolved around us disapeered.
I quickly snapped out of it, as a gust of wind blew across my face, sending my hair flying behind me.
"I-I should go." I uttered, brushing by him.
His hand shot out, holding my shoulder, spinning me around.
I held in my breath, realizing how close we were.
I could smell Harry's spearminted breath, and hear his light breathing.
I looked around, thankful that no one was near us, since everyone was out having drinks and dancing farther down on the deck.
"Colby." he breathed.
Shivers were sent down my spine; I loved the way he said my name.
"H-Harry." I stuttered.
"There's been something I've been meaning to tell you."

Merry (late) Christmas to everyone!
I didn't have much time to go on yesterday, since it was the holidays.
But, I hope everyone had fun! :) Thank you for the 4000 followers, you are all beautiful and amazing!

Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 20
The past two weeks have been better than ever.
Jason and I never went on a second date, since we both figured we weren't meant for each other.
Addison, Gerald and I have been getting along perfectly fine, I literally saw those two everyday.
And, Harry and I have been on neutral terms.
We saw each other every other day, usually at the beach.
I never stopped liking him, though.
I would never be able to fall out of love with his cheeky grin, eccentric blue eyes with green specks, and his humor that never failed to make my day.
But, it was now July 23rd, midway through summer.
Today was also the day I finally got to meet the infamous Lyssa, the girl Gerald always spoke about.
"Are you ready for the party?" Addison asked, as she applied a coat of mascara, staring intently at the bathroom mirror.
Addison had come over to my house earlier today, so we could both get ready for the little party that Gerald was going to throw for Lyssa.
The party was going to be small, just for all of Gerald's friends that Lyssa knew; I was an exception.
The party was going to be on a yacht, which was courtesy of Gerald's uncle.
I nodded, as I admired the way my new tan looked agaisnt my violet blue romper.
I fluffed out my loose curls, as I slipped on a pair of white sandal wedges.
Addison drove to the beach south of Los Angeles, where Gerald's uncle's yacht was.
From the parking lot, we could see that most of our friend's cars were already there, meaning we had to where late.
We hurriedly rushed up the stairs of the yacht, and onto the dock.
There was a transparent screen door, where we could see our little group of friends laughing and taking shots.
Harry's eyes met mine was Addison and I walked in the yacht.
I blushed when he gave me a small smile.
I noticed that he wasn't with Dani.
My eyes rotated around the room, searching for bleached hair, but it was no where to be seen.
Dani wasn't at the party.
"Oh, they're here!" we heard Gerald calling.
A tall, beautiful brunette stepped out, with her sparkling brown eyes glistening.
"Addison! It's been months!" she cheered, wrapping her arms around Addison.
She pulled away, and gave me a gentel grin.
"And I'm guessing you are Colby, huh?"
I chuckled nervously, as I nodded. I was shy when it came to meeting new people.
"It's nice to finally meet you." she sweetly smiled, giving me a quick squeeze.
Now that everyone who was invited showed up, we began to take off into the ocean.
Everyone rushed out to the deck, where we got a clear view of Los Angeles.
As everyone stripped into their swimwear and jumped in the pool that was on the deck, while others tanned on the sunchairs.
I went to the kitchen, searching for something to drink.
"What are you doing here?" a angelic voice asked.
I looked up from the fridge, and found Lyssa smiling down at me.
"I'm just looking for a drink." I explained, taking out two cans of Coke, one for her and one for me.
"Thanks." she nodded, popping open the can.
We lounged in the kitchen, as I found out that she was a year older than Gerald, and wanted to become a singer.
"So, tell me, what's this about you and Harry?" Lyssa asked out of the blue.
I choked on my soda, as my face flushed.
"Well..."

Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 19
"That was the worst date ever, Harry. I don't think we'll be going on double dates anymore." Dani sneered, shooting me a quick glance.
I sighed deeply, hating the fact that I was actually agreeing with Dani.
The date was absolutely mediocre.
Jason ended up throwing up in the toilet most of the time, since he was allergic to the avocados that were in his sushi.
Dani wouldn't stop whining about the raw fish.
And Harry kept staring at me, and turning away everytime I caught him.
Jason, who was looking a bit pale, leaned agaisnt his car, taking in slow breaths.
I nudged his elbow, and gently smiled.
"Are you okay? Do you still feel sick?" I asked.
Jason weakly smiled, placing his hand behind his neck.
"I'm fine, for now." he paused. "Sorry if this wasn't your ideal first date."
I laughed lightly, as shook my head, not wanting to make him feel bad.
But, with all honesty, I wish this wasn't how my first date ended up as.
"No, it's okay." I assured.
Jason smiled, as he placed his cold hand upon mine.
"Do you think we could try going out, again? Just us next time?" he asked hopefully.
The look in his eyes were so pleading, yet heartbreaking.
"I-I'll think about it." I croaked, managing to keep a smile.
Jason's eyes lit up, obviously buying my lie.
"Great. Do you want me to bring you home now?" Jason asked.
Suddenly, Harry appeared over my shoulder. "Actually, Colby and I were just about to take a walk at the park."
I frowned. "I am?"
I looked around the parking lot, noticing that Dani was no where in sight.
"Yes, you are." Harry sternly said, with an amused twinkle that lit up his eyes.
I looked over at Jason, who was furrowing his eyebrows with confusion.
"Is that okay?" I whispered, praying that Jason would say no.
Jason hesitated, but nodded. "It's fine. I mean, you guys are just friends, right?"
I felt my heart drop to my gut, as my palms began to sweat.
I nodded quickly, as I held back in my breath. "O-of course."
I caught Harry from the corner of my eyes giving me a hurt expression, but I shrugged it off.
Jason pecked my cheek and gave me a tight embrace, and sped off out of the parking lot of the Japanese restaurant.
The tensions were high between Harry and I.
The last time we were left alone, things didn't turn out too well.
"So, when did I agree to go to the park with you?" I joked, attempting to start a conversation.
Harry's lips curved into a sly smile, as he shrugged. "I just figured you would come."
I chuckled, as we paced into the dark park.
"Where did Dani go?" I asked, kicking a pebble.
"She told me she saw a friend in the parking lot, and told me she wanted to go clubbing." he shrugged.
"Why didn't you go with her?" I asked.
"Because I wanted to go to the park with you." Harry grinned.
I threw my head back in laughter, as Harry joined me.
It was just like old times, before all the drama started.

Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 18
A little under an hour later, Jason had showered, as I waited in his backyard, trying not to get splashed by the guys that were goofing around in the pool.
Jason finally came through the screen doors, with his hair fully blown dry.
He grinned cheekily at me, as he held out a hand for me.
I smiled back, as I took his hand.
"Where are you two going?" Gerald asked, rising up from the pool.
Harry's eyes shot towards where Jason's and mine's hands tied together.
He looked at Jason with envy, as his eyes flashed back to mine with saddness.
I stared away, shuffling my feet as I focused on the ground.
"I'm taking Colby out for dinner." Jason smiled, pulling me closer to him.
Addison frowned, as Harry abruptly stood up from his sunchair.
Dani sprang up with him, due to the fact that she was hanging on his arm.
"Really? Why don't Dani and I come with?" he gritted through his teeth.
A part of me wished that he would come, but a part of me also wished he wouldn't.
Without hesitation, Jason nodded. "Why not? That sounds like a double date to me."
I cursed under my breath, as Jason gave me a curious look.
Harry jogged up to us, with Dani lunging behind.
"Great, where are we eating?" Harry asked, as we climbed into Jason's car.
I crossed my arms stubbornly, as I stared out the window.
"I was thinking between Japanese or Italian." Jason responded.
Dani suddenly let out an annoying moan from the back.
"Ew. I hate raw fish, and pasta is so fattening!" she cried.
I rolled my eyes, shooting her a glare.
How could Harry deal with someone who was so whiny and irritating?
If I was with Harry, I would never be like that.
I clenched my fists in anger, wondering why I would even think of such a stupid thing.
"Maybe you shouldn't have come with us, then." I muttered under my breath.
I guess I didn't say that quietly enough, because I watched from the rearview mirror, as Dani sprang up from her seat.
"What did you just say?" Dani asked, flipping her bleached hair behind her shoulder.
"I said, maybe you shouldn't have come with us if you're going to be so picky." I groaned, calling out louder this time.
I could feel Jason glancing towards me, while stuggling to keep his eyes on the road.
Dani let out a screech, as she laid her head on Harry's shoulder.
Harry shifted uncomfortably, as Dani glared at me with her icy blue eyes.
"Harry! Are you going to let her talk to me like that?" Dani asked.
"Shush, babe. We're going to Japanese, okay, Jason?" Harry asked.
Jason nodded, as he made a turn.
The care was completely silent, except for the faint sound of music coming from the radio.
After a good five minutes, I watched as Dani peck Harry's lips.
I caught Harry making a disgusted face, as Dani's lips met his.
Dani pulled away, and smiled at me with evilness.
"Well, at least we aren't going to Italian. It's so fattening, I don't want to look like Colby in the future." Dani purred.
I was sure that she didn't mean for me to hear it, but I did.
I could tell Jason didn't hear her, because his eyes were so concentrated on the road.
Harry, on the other hand, stared at me with sympathy, as I threw my head back on the cushion.
"Don't say that, babe. She's gorgeous." I heard Harry mumbled after a minute.

Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 15
After a heated game of volleyball, my legs and arms were sore.
I threw on my cropped top over my bikini, which was sweaty from an hour long game in the sun.
"Perfect timing. The lovebirds are back." Jason, who was on my team, groaned.
I chuckled. "They gross you out, too?"
Jason turned to face me in shock, as if he just realized that I was beside him.
His face softened, as he grinned. "Well, Harry is one of my friends. But, Dani is annoying as hell. All she does is whine and complain."
"Tell me about it." I huffed under my breath.
Harry and Dani approached us, hand in hand.
Harry's eyes flashed over to me, as I turned away rapidly, blushing.
I felt footsteps approaching Jason and I, as I slowly moved, hiding behind him.
Jason gave me a questioning look, but didn't ask me about it.
"Hey, Jason." Harry paused, and peered behind Jason, giving me a gentle smile. "Hi, Colby."
I felt my heart beating out of my chest.
Oh, did I love the way Harry made me name sound.
"H-hi." I stuttered, keeping my eyes on the ground.
I could feel Harry smiling down on me, as he turned to face Jason.
"Jason, mind if I steal Colby for a minute?" Harry asked.
My eyes widened, as I butted in.
"Acutally, Jason and I were just about to get some ice cream!" I exclaimed.
Jason furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "We were?"
Harry smirked, as he ran a hair through his brown head of hair. "I guess you guys aren't."
I opened my mouth to avoid confrontation with Harry, but he was already dragging me away.
My arms started to burn where Harry held my slim arm.
Harry pulled me to the other side of the beach, where there were massive piles of rocks.
"Be careful." Harry whispered, as he began climbing on the rocks.
I followed him, trying my best not to fall.
We reached on the rocks, as we sat on the hard surface, staring out at the ocean.
The sun was just setting, so it was a nice view for us.
There was a long moment of silence, before Harry spoke.
"How have you been, Colby?" he asked, facing me with his gorgeous eyes, which I've missed so much.
I stopped biting on my lower lip, as I tucked my hair behind my ears.
"I-I've been fine." I muttered, looking away.
I felt Harry's warm fingers tilt my chin to face him, as my face burned.
"Please look at me when you talk." he softly said, flashing his eyes to my lips before returning his gaze back to my eyes.
I sucked in some air. "S-sorry."
A small smile spread across his rosy lips. "Don't apologize."
More awkward silence. It was killing me.
"Why am I here?" I boldly asked.
Harry sighed, as he stared at me with painful eyes. "I don't know."
I gulped down the ball that was threatening to spill out tears.
"Then there's no point of me being here. I should go." I muttered, standing up.
"Wait!" Harry called. "There's something we need to sort out."

Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 8
Harry’s eyes never left mine as Dani hung herself on him.
Dani finally let go of Harry’s body after what seemed like hours to me, and gave him a peck on the cheek.
But, the little peck on the cheek made my blood boil.
I gulped, and threw a smile on my face.
“So, what are we doing today?” I asked, turning my attention back to everyone.
Alex was the bold one who decided to speak.
“Well, I really want to go surfing. The waves are awesome today.” He goofily grinned, staring out at the tides.
“Well, since I just got back, I’m going to spend my day with Harry.” Dani announced, wrapping her arms around Harry’s torso.
“That’s fine. We’ll just go surfing, then.” Gerald said, pointing to Addison, Alex and I.
I bravely glanced at Harry, and realized that he was looking at me this whole time.
But, this time, he didn’t smile or grin like usually.
“Great. But, you guys will need to teach Colby and I how to surf.” Addison smirked, already dashing through the sand.
“I call dibs on Colby!” Alex called out, grasping my wrists.
I laughed, as Harry gave a glare to Alex.
Gerald, Alex and I began to depart from Harry and Dani, as we caught up with Addison, who was already settling her stuff down.
“Actually, I wanted Gerald to teach me how to surf.” I chuckled, ripping my wrists away from Alex.
Alex feigned pain, as he slapped his hand to his heart, pouting.
“Well, if that’s what you really want…” Alex cried.
Then he glanced over at Addison, who was in her navy blue and white stripped bikini.
Suddenly, Alex licked his lips, as he checked out Addison. “I guess I’ll take sailor girl, then.”
Alex ran off to Addison, as I was left with Gerald.
“So, I guess it’s you and me, then?” Gerald chuckled, taking off his t-shirt.
I repeated after him, stripping down to my plain turquoise bikini, that didn’t reveal too much.
“That really sucks for you, since I’m a slow learner.” I teased.
We got our surfboards, as we approached the shore.
After Gerald showed me the basics, I was on the waves, trying to balance myself out.
I didn’t get it the first few times, tumbling over my board and colliding in the water.
But, after a few more tries, I was half decent at it.
“You can actually stand on the board now!” Gerald applauded, shaking his damp hair from his eyes.
I rolled my eyes playfully. “I’m kind of tired now, though.”
“Break?” Gerald suggested.
I nodded, as we set our boards down, heading for the snack bar.

If only I could read his mind.
That way, I would know if I was wasting my time.
