Chapter 3

I grabbed a water and payed for it.  Scanning the lunchroom for Mathis.
  "Hey."  I hear someone say behind me, causing me to jump.  I turn around and see Mathis smiling at me.
"You're pretty jumpy, you know that?"  Mathis says.
"And you're pretty handsome, you know thought?"  I say laughing.
He gives me a soft kiss and we go sit down with our friends.
Liliann was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans.  A light blue tank top  made her eyes pop and the outift was matched with a pair of white flats.
Ashlyn wore a yellow summer dress with black heels and hoop earrings.  Her firey red hair was put up in a bun.
Cassie was in a navy blue skirt with a plain white shirt and an anchor necklace.  Her hair curled perfectly.
I looked down at the clothes I was wearing and suddenly left insecure.  I had on a pair of lightly washed skinny jeans and a floral top.  Leving my hair in it's natural waves. 
"Is that all you have for lunch, Marina?"  Liliann questioned.I lloked down at the waterbottle I had set on the table.
  "Umm, yeah.  Just kind of excited.  Don't really feel like eating."  I say avoiding eye contact with Mathis.
"Hey, Marina."  Evan says sliding into the seat next to me.
"Are you kidding me?"  I say covering my face with my hands and resting my elbows on the table.
"Who's this"  Mathis asks, nodding his head towards Evan. 
"Mathis - Evan.   Evan meet Mathis, my boyfriend."  I say looking up. 
"Oh, you never mentioned you had a boyfriend.  I mean, you didn't..." started Evan.
"Does she have to?  You don't need to know everything about her!"  Mathis says standing up.
  Evan stands in responce.
  "Hey guys, let's not do anything we'll regret."  I say also standing up.
  "Oh, I'm not going to regret this."  Mathis says throwing a punch at Evans face.

Chapter 2 Part 2

No such luck.  I turn the corner and bump into the boy with green eyes.  Evan looked down at me and smiled at me.  I smiled back as I walked around him.  I continue to for Mathis but give up and hurry to class.

I had to ask Evan something.  I caught up with him in the hallway after the bell had rung.
"Hey Evan.  Mind if I ask you a question?"  I ask.
"No."  Evan says.  "Shoot."
"Okay, would you have happened to fail a grade?"  I say looking over at him as we walked down the hallway.  "Like maybe last year."
"What makes you ask that?"  Evan questions.
"Well, it's when you were showing me around you mentioned that Mr. Briggs is strict.  You would only know that if you've had him previously.  So either Mr. Briggs changed what grade he teaches or you failed Junior year."  I say matter-of-factly.
"You know, you're pretty smart."  Evan says.
"Well, thank you."  I say.
"And beautiful."  Evan continues.  I can feel my face getting red.  Out of the corner of my eye I see a group of girls staring.
"What's their deal?"  I ask Evan.
"Ex-girlfriend and her clique.  Try to avoid them."  Evan warns.
"Will do."  I say before walking away.

Chapter 2 Part 1

I walked into Mr. James class and sat down in the back.  I pulled out my sketch pad to draw the flowers I had seen outside the school.
The room starts filling u as more people flood in.  The bell rings and in walks (who I assume is the teacher) Mr. James.  He closes the door behind him.  And as he starts calling roll there is a knock on the door.  Mr. James sighs and walks over the open the door.
"Hey, sorry I'm late.  First day of school you know."  I look up from my sketch pad at the fimiliar voice.  Evan catches my ey and walks towards the back of the room.
"Hey."  He says taking a seat beside me.  I don't respond and just continue to draw.  'Just my luck'.

  The bell rings and I rush out of class, towards the locker I was assinged. 
I prayed that I didn't have anymore classes with Evan.  I spun my combination and opened the locker, stuffing my Algebra binder into it.  I grab my science binder and close the locker.  I start to walk to my next class hoping to see Mathis on the way.

Chapter 1

I softly sang along with the song until it ended.
"I didn't know you could sing, Marina."  Mathis says.
"I guess."  I mutter as the school comes into view.  When Mathis  pulls into the school parking lot I give him a kiss before walking off and through the front doors, heading towards the front office.  I could tell people were staring at me.  I just didn't know it that was good or bad yet.
"Hi, I'm Marina Pihillips.  I moved here over the summer"  I say to the woman sitting at the front desk.  She looks up at me slightly annoyed with the fact the I interprutted her crossword puzzle. 
She turned to face the filling cabinet.  "Phillips, Phillips.  Oh, yes.  I'll call someone to the office to show you around."  She says handing me a paper with my schedule on it.  "Just go sit down in one of those chairs."
I sat down while while the lady called someone by the name of Evan Stockton to the office over intercom.
'What kind of last name is that?'  I thought to myslef.  It was unusal, but I like it.  It was different in a good way.
The office door opened and in walked a dirty blonde green-eyed boy.
I stand and walk over to him.  "Are you Evan?"  I ask him.
"Yeah."  He says looking at me.
"Well, I'm Marina and apperently you're supposed to show me around."  I say hand him my schedule.  Evan is staring at me so I snap my fingers in his face.  "Earth to Evan."
"Oh, sorry."  He says taking the schedule.  "It's just you're so beautiful."
I can feel my face getting red and I brush a strand of hair out of my face.
"Thanks, so about showing me around."  I say gesturing towards the door.
"Sure."  Evan says opening the door for me.

"So, this would be your last class with.... Briggs, oohhh."  Evan says.
"What?"  I ask looking into his green eyes.
"He's strict."  Evan said, making a face at me that clearly read 'bummer'.
I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Okay, weel, thanks."  I say snatching the schedule out of his hands and hurrying down the hall before he could get another word out.
