I don't think a person who does illegal things while he's under influence of his illness, should be punished. He should be helped to heal, and he should do his best to fix the damage he's done, if he wrecked something for example, he should replace it, but he shouldn't go to prison, even if he killed someone. He might never be able to take that back, but knowing he killed someone would be punishment enough once he's cured of his illness, and he couldn't help it, not really. decides, I have been punished for some of the things I did, I spent 8 months in a special facility for cases like mine, and it's quite similar to a prison. I wouldn't want to think what a real prison sentence would be like. And I don't think it's a weird question
