Blahblahstories here. Remember one of the stories that I wrote a while ago?
♥ The Wrong Guy

Well I was re-reading it and I thought it was a good story and so I was thinking, if this gets at least 10 faves, I'll write a different ending for it, one where they end up happy in the end. So, if you want an alternate ending, fave this :)

Alright guys,

I've written a bunch of stories here, some good, some not so good. Either way, this was an amazing experience and I want to thank all of you guys for reading, and even those that followed but didn't read the story, that's fine too. Well, anyway, I'm done writing. It was fun and all but I'm not reliable enough to keep you guys updated every day for a story. So thank's again amd goodbye :)

Epilogue

5 years later

"Cheer up, Ashlyn. So you and Shane got a divorce. He was a loser anyway. Always so protective every guy that dared lay an eye on you," my friend Lindsey McGinn said to me.
"Yea, Ash, come on, have a drink," her husband Troy McGinn told me, handing me a martini.
"You guys, she can't just get over a five year marriage with a drink," my other friend, Julia Anderson, scolded them and put an arm around me for comfort.
"There's nothing a martini can't fix," Julia's husband, Chris Anderson joked.
"No, Julia's right," my fifth friend, Tabitha Price added. "You can sulk all you want but don't drink it away. Trust me, I tried that when Jake died but it doesn't do anything."
"Thanks, guys," I said, giving them a genuine smile. "I really appreciate it but don't worry about me.  Shane isn't worth my tears." This got the group to laugh. We stayed at the bar for another hour and I tried to keep Shane out of my mind.
Hannah had been wrong with that bet of a month and a half she had made five years ago. But then again, we didn't stay together forever like I'd hoped. The reason of the divorced was exactly what Clayton had said to me five years ago: Shane was very selfish. He never listened to my opinion about how to set up our house or how to take care of our four year old daughter, Amanda.
Once we were all in my car, me being the driver because everyone knew that i wouldn't have drank much anyway, we drove to my apartment. Once we got inside, we were ambushed by our kids.
"Mommy, you're home!" Amanda shrieked as she ran into my arms.
"Hi, sweetheart. How are you?"
"Today was so much fun. Jensen and Jared said all these funny jokes and I taught Erika how to tie shoes!"
I looked towards Jensen and Jared, who were talking animated to their parents, Chris and Julia. Troy and Lindsey were with their daughter, Erika. And Tabitha, who didn't have any children, had struck up a conversation with the babysitter, Chris's brother, Jacob.
I carried Amanda over towards him.
"Thank you, Jacob, for taking the time to watch them."
"That's alright. Did you guys have a fun night?"
"We tried. Anyway, here's about fifty bucks. Keep the change," I said to him just as he started to protest.
"Well, anyway, before I leave, i wanted to tell you, you got a new neighbour," Jacob said to me.
"I did?"
"Yea, he lives right across from here. You should talk to him. He's nice."
"Oh. Mommy, I met Uncle C. He's so nice. He said he'd take me out to ice cream one day."
"Did he now? Well I must meet this man if he's going to be taking my daughter around."
I walked out of my apartment to where everyone else was, already talking to my new neighbour.
"Look, here she is," Chris said, spotting me.
"Ashlyn, this is your new neighbour," Julia said to me, moving me forward to see him.
Troy said, "his name is-" he never finished because I finished for him.
"Clayton."
"Hi, Ashlyn," he said
.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, astounded. He was much better looking than I remembered. His muscles buldged out and his stubble was just perfect, along with his pearly white teeth, dark, short hair and smoky gray eyes-eyes that I thought about every day for five years.
He looked at me hopefully and said, "looking for you."

Chapter 21

For the next month, I was stuck in the confines of my house. I talked to Shane every day on the phone but I never told him about Clayton.
I tried callng Clayton everyday too but he never picked up the phone. A week before my punishment was over, when i called his phone, instead of going to voicemail, I was told that the phone number was no longer in service.
This really upset me because I thought Clayton was deliberatly trying to make sure I stopped trying to contact him. So naturally, I did what any girl would do at this time.
I went to his house.
I wore a nice orange shirt with white pants. I even curled my hair and did my make up, hoping that Clayton would stay and talk to me.
I went up to his door and knocked on the door. After a moment, an old man opened it and peered at me.
"Can I help you?' he asked me.
I stared at him, stunnded but I regained my composure.
"I'm sorry, is Clayton here?"
"No Clayton here."
"Oh. Do you live here?"
"Yes, ma'am. We moved in a week ago."
"Oh." I thought back to the phone that was disconnected just last week.
"I'm sorry. I must have the wrong house then."
"That's alright. Have a good day," he smiled as he closed the door. I sat down on the ground next to the door, dismayed. Clayton had changed his phone number and now he even moved out. Where am I suppsoed to find him now?
A boy, around my age was walking by. He had red hair and blue eyes. He glanced at me from his phone and suddenly stopped.
"Excuse me," he said, "are you by any chance Ashlyn?"
"Yes, I am," I replied. "Do I know you?'
"No, I'm, um, friends with Clayton."
"Clayton? Do you know where he is? He moved out."
"Yea, about a week ago. He said something about talking to his mom."
"His mom?"
"Yea."
"He went back to his mom?" I can't believe my advice had worked.
"Yea, well anyway, he wanted me to tell you something."
"What's that?"
"He wanted to say sorry. And also something."
"Well?" I asked impatiently.
He licked his lips nervously before replying.
"Goodbye."

Chapter 20

"That was very nice of you, Mom," I said as we waited outside his room.
"This doesn't mean you are off the hook."
"I know, Mom."
"Two months."
"But, Mom, I had a good reason."
Eventually, I was able to negotiate the punishment to one month but that was still a long time.
"Hello, my name is Dr. Cathers. You are Clayton's mother?" a doctor asked, apporaching us.
"Guardian," my mother lied.
"Alright, well he's fine. He does need to get a good rest and needs to take things slow for a little while. We fixed up his bruises, gave him bandages and another doctor is giving him a cast right now."
"Can I go see him?" I asked.
Dr. Cathers motioned me towards his room and I tentatively stepped in. A doctor was just finishing up his cast and cleaning her utinsles as I walked in.
"Hey. How's it going," I asked.
"I'm sore but I'm fine. Tell your mom I owe her a lot."
"Don't worry about it."
The doctor left after giving a few instructions to Clayton on how to care for his arm.
"I was really worried, you know?" I said, sitting next to him on the bed.
"I know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to see any of it."
"Why did you let him beat you up? I know you can fight and you looked like you were letting him win." Clayton looked away from me and bit his lip, as if trying to keep a secret.
"Clayton, what is it?" I asked, moving closer.
"I was upset, Ash. You had stopped talking to me and then I messed it up later and I didn't know what to do. I used to think about you all the time and how i screwed it up between us. And when that guy was hitting me, I didn't think of you. All I could think of was the pain. And for some twisted reason, I prefered that than thinkning of you all the time, so I thought if I died there, I wouldn't have to deal with the pain of you being stuck inside my mind all the time."
"Well, I'm here now," I said softly to him
"Yea, you are," he replied. I moved forward slightly and then our lips were touching. I could feel butterflies flying all over my stomach. Clayton put an arm around me, pulling me closer. I tried to get as close as possible to him. Just as I was about to get up for air, the door opened and Dr. Cathers came in.
"Kids. Please keep those actions in the confines of your own rooms, please," she said, sternly.
Clayton and I pulled apart and I started giggling. Clayton, however, looked mortified.
"I can't believe...I just...oh, my God, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have."
"Wait, what's wrong. Don't be sorry, Clayton. What's wrong?"
"I...You and...Shane."
Then my brain suddenly remembered my boyfriend.
"I'm so sorry," he said and jumped off the bed.
"Wait, come back. We'll figure this out," I called after him but he was already out the door. My mother watched him walk away and gave me a puzzled look but didn't let me go after him.
"You're grounded, remember? You can talk to him later."
I was forced to go home, feeling sick in my stomach. Not because I cheated on my boyfriend but because I had somehow gotten Clayton to be mad at me all over again.

Chapter 19

I sat in the back seat with Clayton and Shane, hoping I'd avoid my mom's wrath but she yelled at me anyway, saying what I did was reckless and immature. I knew Clayton was taking those insults to heart because everything she was saying related to him too. Shane's house couldn't have come fast enough. When it did, we both got out and stopped infront of his door.
"I'm really sorry tonight didn't go as planned," I said.
"That's okay. But Ash, that's Clayton in the car."
"Yeah, I know. So what?"
"How many times have I told you I don't like him?"
"Alright, listen up, Shane. Clayton is my friend. He's hurt and he needs me. And you know what? I'm going to stay with him until he is better wheater my boyfriend approves of it or not. So if you don't like it, say the word and we're over. Either that or you trust me."
Shane was silent for a moment.
"Fine, I trust you. But just be careful."
"I will."
"And, Ash. I love you."
"I love you, too," I replied and he pulled me in for a kiss that was interrupted by my mom's too loud car horn.
I got back into the car and sat next to Clayton.
"Are you okay? You look sick."
"No, I'm fine. Just tired."
"Clay, is your arm supposed to be like that?"
"Probably not but it's nothing a good night's sleep won't fix."
"Clayton, I really think you should go to the hospital."
"You know I can't." I looked at him, pleadingly.
"Please," I begged.
"If' it's money you need, we can help you," my mom added from the front.
"I never said that," Clayton replied.
"It's obvious what your problem is, Clayton. I can't be a millionaire and keep the money to myself. Honestly, take it."
"No, I couldn't."
"You know what, I don't want to hear it. Look, the hospital is right here anyway. We're going."
Clayton tried to protest but in the end, Clayton was taken through the hospital, papers were signed and he was on his way to get fixed up.

Chapter 18

"Alright, look Clayton, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I was confused and forced to make a decision on the spot. I didn't know what to do. And I'm not asking you to understand. I don't understand why I did it either. I just want you to somehow, find it in your heart to forgive me. Please."
Clayton didn't say anything.
"Clayton, you're my friend. I need you."
Clayton sighed, turned away from me, and sat down in a nearby chair. I blinked, trying to keep the tears from falling out when suddenly he looked up at me and said, "Well, do you want to know why I got in the fight or not?"
I stood, stunned for a minute then smiled, quickly wiping away a tear and rushing to sit next to him.
"I was just at a bar and he started arguing with the bartender and I cut in, saying something rude to him. He shut up but when I was leaving, he jumped me."
"Is that it?"
"Pretty much."
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Tell me this, how come they didn't take you to the hospital? You look horrible."
"They tried. But I said no. I don't have insurence," he said, with a short, regretful laugh.
"Can you tell me one more thing?"
"I guess."
"Why don't you go back to your family?"
"Ash," he started.
"No, I'm serious, I'm sure she misses you. I'm sure she'd want you back. And if you were with her, you wouldn't be in this situation, or if you were, at least you'd have the money to fix yourself up."
"My mom hates me."
"I highly doubt that."
"You don't know what she'd do."
"Have you done anything as bad as run away from home before?"
"No, but I know her. I know how she'd react."
"Trust me. In desperate times, people change."
"You know if I do go back, I probably won't see you again."
I thought about this a moment.
"I do. But to be honest, I honestly don't expect to give such an amazing lecture that you'd actually listen to me. I'm just saying what I think you should do." Clayton chuckled at this along with me but I suddenly stopped as I saw my mom enter the office. As soon as she spotted me, I saw the anger in her face. She stomped over to me.
"What have you done?!"
"Nothing, i swear. I was just trying to protect my friend."
"By going to jail?"
"No, Mom, at least let me explain."
"You can explain it to me during the next two months while you're grounded!"
"Mom!That's not fair.!"
"I'll be the judge of that. Let's go."
She started to walk away when I suddenly remembered Clayton beside me and Shane seated across the room, giving me the evil eye.
"Oh, Mom, my friends need a ride, too."
It took all her strenght not to blow up on me at that but finally, we were all in the car, heading towards Shane's house.

Chapter 17

I was forced to stay at the police office for a few hours in the interrogation room. When the officer finally came and let me explain what actually happened, he let me off with a $500 fine. I excited into the waiting room where I was ambushed by Shane. He wrapped his arms tightly around me, crushing me between his arms.
"Shane, you're hurting me," I struggled to say. He then let me go but kepts his hands on my arms.
"Are you okay? I can't believe you did that! How could you beat that man up? Oh, my God, you're eye!"
"What? What's wrong with my eye?"
"It's turning black."
I turned towards the nearest mirror and looked at myself. My face was red with blood, my hair was all over the place and my eye was purple!
"Oh, forget it. I just want to go home," I sighed, tired of this whole time. "What time is it?"
"It's almost three in the morning."
I groaned. My mom was going to kill me. I headed towards the front door but an officer stopped me.
"You aren't allowed to leave without a legal parent or gurdian," she explained. I sighed as I went for the payphone and called my mom. She was furious and started yelling at me but she finally agreed to come. When I turned around, I saw Clayton coming out of another interogation room with another officer. My heart skipped a beat as I saw him.
His hair was stuck to his forhead because of dried blood, he was walking with a limp, one of his arms was just hanging down in an unatural way and there were bruises all over his body.
But none of that registered properly to me. All I saw was Clayton, walking, talking and alive. I was overjoyed.
"Clayton!" I cried and ran towards him, knocking him in a hug. He tumbled back against the door, barely able to hold himself up.
"Oh, Clayton, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you okay! Please tell me you're okay," I exclaimed as tears started to form in my eyes. I was just so happy he was alive.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," he said, stepping back from me. "I just want to go home," he said quietly, not looking at me.
"Speaking of which," the officer next to him said, "you need a legal parent of guardian to pick you up from here."
"Oh," Clayton said, looking unsure. He didn't have a legal parent of guardian with him so I took this opputunity to put myself in. I could tell Clayton was still mad at me for ditching him for Shane but I didn't care.
"He's coming with me," I told the officer.
"And who's taking you?"
"My mom."
"Alright, then." Then he strood of and I was left with Clayton and an awkward silence.
"Clayton, what happened today?" I finally asked.
"Nothing. Everything was fine. I didn't need your help."
"That's not what it looked like."
"Looks can be decieving," he replied.
"I'm serious. Tell me what happened."
"I got in a fight, you showed up and now we're here. Happy?"
"No, I'm not because that doesn't tell me anything."
"You don't need to know anything. Who are you? You're not family, you're not a friend. You're practicaly a stranger now. That's what you wanted isn't it?"

Chapter 16

A week later, I still hadn't forgotten about Shane's comment to Clayton so I have no idea what convinced me to go out with him Thursday night for dinner. Off all the reasons I could think of, I was praying that it was so that he would appologize and we could get back to normal.
That evening, after we finished all our food, we were walking towards the intersection Shane's mom said she'd pick us up at. Shane had crashed his car recently so his mom was our ride.
There was a lot of tense air around us and I'm pretty sure people near us could feel it. Shane still hadn't said anything close to an apology. In fact, if I'm not misjudging anything, he tried to stear as clear  from talking about me and his as possible.
As we passed a dark alleyway, I heard the common grunting noises of a fight. I just glanced inside as I walked by, not expecting to see anything interesting but I stopped. There was defintely a fight. A big, muscular guy was throwing punches at another guy, clearly not as strong but he had muscle too.
"Let's go, Ash," Shane tried pulling me away by my arm but I didn't. Instead, I ran into the alleyway and jumped onto the predator. I pulled him back, away from his victim, who I recognized as Clayton.
I threw a punch at the man's face, missing him by an inch as he moved aside. He tried to punch me back but I ducked.
"Ashlyn!" I heard Shane shriek as he came running towards me. I knew for a fact that Shane did not know how to fight at all so I tried to position myself in front of him but the man pushed me away, making me tumble across the ground as Shane got a roundhouse kick to his chest. He screamed as he stumbled backwards and crashed into the wall. I forced myself up and got to the man again.
We got couple punches into each other until I was finally able to get the man down but that wasn't enough. I was mad at him for hurting Shane but I was even more infuriated at him for trying to hurt Clayton. This sonofa-
I was yanked off before I could even finish my though. Someone pulled both my arms behind my back and suddenly I felt some cool metal graze against it. I looked around, trying to figure out what was going on and it was only then that I saw the officers in their suits moving around quickly and efficiently. My hearing started to work as well and I heard the ending of the Meranda Rights.
I was being arrested!
"Wait, hold on you guys. You got it wrong. I'm not the bad guy here!" I tried telling all the officers but none of them bothered to listen. I looked around wildly, trying to find Clayton in the huge mess. When I spotted him, leaning against the wall, barely upright, I tried to go towards him.
"Please, Ma'am, officer, please. That's my friend. I need to make sure he's okay. Please let me check up on him," I begged, tears forming in my eyes.
"The doctors will make sure he's okay. You're coming with me." The lady pulled me harshly towards the car. Just as I was getting in, I heard someone yell out my name. Shane was trying to come to me but officers kept him back, trying to calm him down.
Suddenly, the car engine started and I was on my way to prison.

Chapter 15

"So, what, you're crashing this party by becoming a waiter?" I asked confused.
He stared at me as if I was the dumbest thing in the world.
"Do I have to spell it out for you? This is my job. I need money. It doesn't grow on trees you know. Or maybe you don't," he said, looking around the fancy hall.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I just never knew you were rich."
"I don't like that word."
"And I don't like my job."
"So why don't you just quit?"
"You really are dumb, aren't you?"
"No, I'm not. I'm just confused. I'm not thinking properly."
"Right."
Some things started to click together and I finally understood some stuff.
"So, as a waiter, you only work at night, right? And that day when I called you at home and you picked up, it was because you weren't working. And you don't go to school because you can't afford it."
"Well when you say it that way, it sounds bad."
"Clayton, why are you doing this to yourself?"
"I don't have a rich mom to help me every step of the way."
"Where is your mom?"
Clayton sighed, not wanting to explain but he did anyway.
"It all started with Trinity. Remember her?" I nodded as I remembered the picture on the door. "I met her almost the same way I met you: she was in trouble and I helped her out. I took her home and helped her out. When my mom found out, she was mad at me because I was fighting. She hated me fighting. We had a bunch of disagreements and then I left."
"That's it? You just left? Did she know where you were going? Did you know where you were going? How did you survive?"
"I had some cash, I got a job and I got my apartment. Trinity knew and she helped but she didn't tell a soul."
"So no one from your old life knows where you are?"
"Nope. And I don't plan on going back."
"Why not?"
"I just...don't. Now, forget about me. Why have you stopped talking to me? You won't return my calls or anything."
"About that," I looked away, ashamed to look him in the eye. "Shane and I were talking and he said, since he doesn't really like you much, he wanted me to stop hanging out with you."
"That's it? Well if you wanted me to stop talking to you, you should have just said so," his said, his voice cold.
"No, it's not that. I wanted to stay friends but I couldn't."
"Well the least you could have done was say so. You can't just play around with people's hearts like that."
"People's hearts...what?"
"Forget."
"Wait a minute. Do you like me? Clayton, what the hell? You're the one that said you weren't looking for a relationship in the first place. What's this 'playing with people's hearts' bull?"
"It's not that-"
"What going on here?" a new voice suddenly said. Shane came up beside me and wrapped his arm around me securely.
"Shane...um," I wasn't sure what to say. "This is Clayton."
"I know. What I'm wondering is what you're doing talking to him," Shane said rudely."
"Shane!" I gasped.
"It's okay. I was just leaving," Clayton said, walking away.
"Shane, that was so rude. How could you?"
"You know how I feel about Clayton."
"And you know how I feel about him."
"Actually, I don't think i do. Why don't you tell me? Because it seems to me there's more going on here."
"You know what, I don't have time for this. Forget it." I threw Shane arm away from me and walked away. I got myself a drink and sat down at an empty table, feeling mesirable the rest of the night.
