Hey guys, I'm so sorry about the long wait, I've been SO
busy lately!

I just sat in my
seat for a couple seconds, shocked. Why did he just completely
shut me down? Did I do something wrong? It seemed like he was so
into me the first time we talked. I didn't have time to sit
and think about it for too long, because the first class was
about to start. Lucky for me, my class is close to my homeroom so
I made it there on time.
The day seemed to drag
on, and it seemed like days until it was time for lunch. I found
Molly and Aidan and sat down with them and a couple other people.
I looked around the lunch room for Tyler, I really wanted to talk
to him.
After about 10 minutes
of searching I gave up, he was probably just in the other lunch,
because there's two at my school. I met eyes with Molly, and
she looked at me questioningly, was the disappointment that clear
on my face? I switched it to a smile and shook my head to let her
know that nothing was wrong. She obviously didn't believe me,
she's my best friend and can tell when I'm upset.
Lunch ended 20 minutes
later, and I tried to run away to escape the questioning I knew
I'd be getting from Molly, but I wasn't quick enough. She
pulled me aside into an empty hallway and just stared at me.
"What?" I
said defensively.
"What's
wrong, Lex? I know you were looking for someone at lunch and then
you looked really upset. Who was it?"
I considered making up
some story about how I was checking out some guy but then decided
that she's my best friend and deserves to know the truth.
Besides, she'd probably figure it out eventually anyway.
"Okay, well when
I was shopping with my family a couple days ago, I met this guy,
named Tyler. He's new here this year, and I thou-"
"Wait, Tyler
Gilbert?" Molly interrupted me.
"Yeah, have you
met him yet?"
"I have,
he's in my first class of the day. He seemed kind of upset
this morning. Did something happen?"
"Well, kind of.
He seemed like he was kind of into me when we met, then this
morning in homeroom I tried to say hi and he wouldn't even
look at me. I don't know what I did!"
Molly looked at me
sympathetically. "Oh, Lexi, I'm sure you just made him
nervous because you're so pretty and he likes you so
much."
I laughed. "Nice
try Molls, but that's not it. He seemed like he was mad at
me."
The warning bell rang,
so we had to end our conversation.
"Don't worry
Lex, I know you, and I know you'll work it out." She
said, and with that, she walked away to her next class.
I hope she's
right.

I drove to the school
in the crappy car my dad left for me. But that didn't matter
to me, because I know that I was going to see Lexi again
today. I shouldn't get excited about that, I mean she has a
boyfriend. She's not interested in me at all. Even though I
knew that, I still couldn't get her out of my mind.
I pulled into the
first open parking spot I could find and got out. Here goes
nothing. I walked towards the school, looking around at my new
classmates, and also looking for Lexi. I found her, and started
to walk towards her. Then a big guy came up behind her and hugged
her. I started to run when I heard Lexi scream, but stopped when
I saw her smile. This guy must be her boyfriend, the same one she
was with at Staples a couple days ago.
Jealousy burned
through my veins. I had no place to be jealous, but I
couldn't help it. I stood, frozen, as I watched her hug this
guy. I started to walk again, but kept my eyes on Lexi. I bumped
into someone, and turned my eyes to them instead. It was a guy,
about my height, with curly brown hair and brown eyes. He
immediately apologized, and I told him not to worry about it and
that it was my fault.
I smiled to reassure
him that it was fine, and he tentatively smiled back. This guy
seemed really shy. He finally said, "Hey are you new around
here? I haven't seen you before."
I sighed, "Yeah
I'm new. I just moved from California a couple weeks
ago."
"You should try
out for football, you look like you could run really fast to be a
reciever."
"Oh yeah, I love
football. Maybe I will. Do you play?" I asked.
"Yeah I do, and I know
we're really lacking some good players. I hope to see you
there!" He said with a smile.
"I'll
come!" I said, and with that he walked off. I then
remembered Lexi, and looked just in time to see her kiss that guy
on the cheek. I wanted to punch something really badly, but now
wasn't the time. I stormed off to find my homeroom. I found
it, walked in, and sat down.
A few seconds later,
Lexi walked through the door, and I felt an urge to run up and
hug her, but obviously I couldn't because of her boyfriend.
Thinking of her boyfriend made me go cold.
Lexi sat down next to
me and smiled. "Hey!" She said.
I stared at her for a
second, fighting an urge to either confront her about her
boyfriend or to let it go and try my best not to kiss her right
that second. I decided on the second option, and said,
"Hi," with much restrain. I then turned to the front
because I was so afraid of what I might do if I look into her
eyes.
She turned to the front,
too. I could tell she was hurt, but I didn't know what else I
could do. I sat through homeroom in silence, and as soon as the
bell rang I got out of there as fast as I could to avoid awkward
conversation about how I just treated her. This year might be
tough.

I
fiercely hugged my surprise attacker, Aidan. He's been my
best guy friend since the 3rd grade. He laughed, "Hey Lex,
did you miss me?
I finally let go of
him and rolled my eyes. "Oh not at all," I said with a
wink. "That's why I got so excited when I saw you for
the first time in a month!"
Aidan just kept
laughing while I took him in. He was good looking, there was no
fighting that. He was very muscular, very tan, with chocolate
brown eyes and very dark brown hair that was cut really short.
But we're just friends, and I love him like a brother.
I looked away from
Aidan to see my other best friend, Molly, standing right behind
him quietly. I screamed yet again and hugged her too. She
wasn't expecting it, and fell back a little from my weight.
But she laughed and hugged me back anyway. Molly is gorgeous, she
has a perfect body, fair skin, long, curly blonde hair, and gray
eyes. I get jealous of her beauty sometimes, but she's not
one to flaunt it around.
I looked at my two
best friends, thinking how I was so lucky to have them.
"Lexi, what are
you looking at?" Molly asked, laughing.
"Oh
nothing," I replied, "Just thinking how I have the two
best friends anyone could ask for."
Molly just rolled her
eyes and smiled, but Aidan said, "If you love us so much,
how come you didn't invite us up to your summer house?
"Come on,
Aidan, you know that only my family goes up there!" I
said.
"Yeah, I know
that. I'm just teasing you." He winked.
The warning bell
interrupted us, and we knew we had to go. I hugged Molly one more
time and she was off to her homeroom. I turned to Aidan and gave
him a kiss on the cheek, we're friends like that, so it
wasn't awkward. "Bye Lex." He said.
"See ya
Aidan!" I answered. With that, Aidan turned and walked off
to his homeroom. I walked into my homeroom, and saw Tyler!
Yay! He's in my homeroom! I thought. This year was
really turning out great. I sat next to Tyler and smiled.
"Hey!"
"Hi," He
said coldly. Then he turned forward in his desk and the teacher
walked in. I turned to the front, shocked at how he treated me.
What did I do? I thought to myself. He was so nice
to me in Staples. Why does he seem like he hates me now?
I couldn't do
anything about it now, because the announcements were on and we
weren't allowed to talk. I sat through homeroom in silence,
and when the bell rang, I turned to Tyler to ask what his problem
was, but he was already halfway across the room to the door. I
decided I'd find him after school, and walked to my first
period class.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I groaned and rolled
over to turn off my alarm clock. It's only 6 in the morning.
I almost rolled over and fell back asleep, but then I remembered.
I remembered it was the first day of school, and I remembered
that the first day of school meant seeing Tyler again. That
motivated me to get out of bed and drag myself into the
shower.
I was more awake after
my shower, and I went back into my room and got dressed. I
picked out my outfit last night, a cute summer dress from
Hollister with Old Navy flip flops. I did my makeup right
after. I spent a long time doing my makeup, I wanted it to look
perfect. When I finished I got out the hair dryer and dried
my hair. Then I straightened it, and clipped my bangs to the
side.
I ran downstairs to
find Ian already making everyone pancakes for breakfast. He saw
me, and smiled. I raised my eyebrows, looking at the pancakes. He
just rolled his eyes and asked me to get all the plates for
everyone. Eventually everyone came downstairs and ate, and then
we all piled into the car after my mom took our annual
"First Day of School Picture."
We pulled up to the
school and parked. We all got out and walked towards the front
door. I was excited to see Tyler, and still hoping I had some
classes with him. I was still thinking about Tyler when strong
arms wrapped around my waist. I turned around to see who it was,
and screamed.

One Secret Too Many #3
Tyler
I
turned into the aisle with pens and almost tripped over a girl
kneeling down on the ground. I opened my mouth to tell her to
move over, but then I actually looked at her. I couldn't see
her face, but she had long, light brown hair that was
loosely curled and gorgeous. She was tan, too. I prayed her face
would be as pretty as the rest of her and asked, "Hey, do
you need some help?"
The girl looked up,
startled, and it took everything I had not to gasp out in
amazement and shock. She was more gorgeous than I was hoping. She
had amazing, clear, green eyes, with thick and full eyelashes
around them. She had a perfect nose, and light pink lips. She
seemed as shocked as I felt, but probably because she was so
surprised by my entrance. She managed to stutter out, "Um...
no.. I just uh.. sure, thanks."
Her voice almost
knocked me out, it matched her perfectly. Bright and chiming,
like bells. I bent down and picked up the rest of her pens. I
gave them to her and smiled, and she took them and told me,
"Thanks," with a smile that showed rows of perfect,
white teeth.
I didn't know what
to say, but I wanted to stay and talk with her. Thankfully,
she broke the silence, and said, "Hey, I'm Lexi."
She stuck out her hand for a handshake.
I slowly reached out
and took her soft hand in mine. "Hi Lexi," I said,
"I'm Tyler."
She asked me if I
was new around here, and I told her I just moved from
California. Looks like I won't be missing my old home all
that much. I asked if she was going to the school that was in
town, and she said yes. I smiled, and told her how happy I was
that I was going to know someone on the first day.
That's when a male
voice rang througout the store, calling, "Lexi? Lex, where
are you? We're leaving!"
They were calling
Lexi. Man, does she have a boyfriend? She's probably only
being this friendly to me because I'm the new guy. Man,
I'm so stupid!
"Sorry, I
guess I have to go," she said. "I'll see you
when school starts!"
I almost didn't
say goodbye, I was too caught up in my own thoughts. I realized
she was walking away and called out, "Yeah, see
you."
She waved and kept
walking away. Why did she have to do that to me? Ty, I
told myself, get over her. She's just some girl who
already has a boyfriend and you have no shot. Deal with
it.
I listened to the
voice inside my head, and tried not to think about
Lexi leaving the store with her perfect
boyfriend. Why do I care so much? I met this girl not five
minutes ago! I kept telling myself that, but for some reason, it
still hurt.

"Um... no.. I just uh.. sure, thanks." I said
nervously. My God, he was gorgeous. He was tall, with a lean
body. I'm sure that under that Abercrombie shirt there's
a six pack. He has very dark hair, that was cut on the shorter
side, with bangs that flipped off to the side. He was tan, too.
He must've just gotten back from a warm and sunny
vacation.
He bent down, too, and
picked up the rest of the pens for me. We both stood up and he
smiled and handed me my pens. I smiled, and said,
"Thanks."
I put most of
the pens back on the shelf, keeping one pack of the black and
blue pens, and the pack of gel pens. He was still standing
there, so I tried to start conversation.
"Hey, I'm
Lexi." I said, sticking out my hand.
He took my hand, and
said, "Hi Lexi, I'm Tyler."
"So, Tyler, are
you new around here? Just because I haven't seen you around.
It's a pretty small town, so I kinda know everyone."
"Yeah, I just got
here about a week ago. I used to live in California. Do you go to
the school in town?"
"Yeah I do,
and I'm assuming you'll go there, too?"
"Yeah, and now I
know someone for the first day!" Tyler flashed his beautiful
smile again.
I opened my mouth to
answer him when Ian's voice rang throughout the store,
"Lexi? Lex, where are you? We're leaving!"
I turned to Tyler, and
said, "Sorry, I guess I have to go. I'll see you when
school starts!" It took almost all I had to tear my eyes
away from his gorgeous face.
He called back as I
was leaving, "Yeah, see you!"
I turned and waved as
I was walking. Then I found Ian with Gia and Jeremy waiting by
the registers. I put my pens on the belt while Ian got out his
wallet. I couldn't stop thinking about Tyler. I hoped I'd
have some classes with him.
Ian paid and we all
went back into the car. I stared out the window, and thought
about how amazing Tyler was.

I stared out the window as we continued our drive to Staples to
get school supplies. Ugh, back to school already. Summer really
flew by this year. As if he knew what I was thinking, Ian patted
my shoulder from the driver's seat and said, "I know,
Lexi, I know. But just think, two more years and you'll be
outta here!"
"Yeah, and only
one more year for you bro!" I said back. I'm really not
that upset about going back to school, it's just that this
summer was so fun and I don't want it to end. We spent nearly
all of it at our beach house, just us kids. My parents had to
stay home and work, as they do a lot of the time. So Ian, Jeremy,
Gia, and I spent most of the summer by ourselves. It was fine by
us! I'll introduce them, Ian is my older brother. He's 18
and a senior in high school. He's captain of the football
team, basketball team, and baseball team. Needless to say,
he's pretty athletic, but he's also really smart and we
have the kind of relationship that I know I can trust him to help
me with anything I need. Jeremy and Gia are twins, and
they're going into their freshman year. Jeremy loves
listening to his iPod in his room with the door closed and
locked, but he lets me come in and hang with him sometimes.
Gia's the best sister anyone could ask for, she loves to come
shopping with me, we hang out all the time, and we barely ever
fight. And then there's me, going into my junior year.
I'm not really into sports, I mostly like hanging around with
my friends and family.
We rounded the corner
and Staples came into view. Everyone except Ian groaned.
"Come on guys, we're just buying the supplies, it's
not like we're walking into school yet!" he said. I
smiled, I have to admit that he's doing a good job at trying
to keep us happy.
Ian parked and we all
walked into Staples together, then we split up. I went to get
pens and pencils, while Ian and Gia went to look at binders and
notebooks. Jeremy looked at drawing pads, did I mention he's
into art, too? I picked up a couple packages of pens and tried to
decide whether I wanted colored or just plain black and blue, and
then I saw some gel pens and accidentally dropped everything I
was holding when I reached for the gel pens. I bent down to pick
them up, when someone asked, "Hey, do you need some
help?"
I looked up and saw
the most gorgeous, deep blue eyes that I've ever seen in my
life.
