The Little Things
~Chapter 8~
I watch from backstage as One Direction performs my opening act. I smile to myself, knowing that this is the way it was supposed to be all along. My smile fades when I realize that it's not the same, and it shouldn't be like this; Not when we haven't spoken to eachother in five months. I hear them introduce me and make my way to the corner of the stage, still hiden from the audience, as One Direction walks off and I walk on, Liam grabs my arm. "Val.. I mean, Valarie," He mumbles. I stop and then slide my arm out of his grasp, walking to the center of the stage, a huge smile on my face. The sold out arena is filled of my fans, screaming my name (My stage name is just Valarie, not Val, and no last name). The sound of their screams is deafening, but some how, my singing is even louder.
During my whole performance, all three hours of it, I think about the day in the cafe when I was too normal to be with Liam and his famous friends, knowing that soon enough, I'll have some famous friends of my own.

When I walk off the stage, I can't stop smiling, the feeling inside my body is just too much to explain. I'm beyond happy. Until I notice five guys standing infront of my dressing room. Mr. Manson walks up, and hugs me tightly, he's become like a father to me, "You're amazing," He ruffles my hair before letting me go so I can hug my mother. "You're perfect," She says, tears in her eyes. "Awh, Mom," I smile, hugging her tightly too. Suddenly, Mr. Manson and Mom notice the guys and slowly walk away, I'm guessing Mom explained everything to him during the show. "Wow, Val.. Valarie," Liam corrects himself once again. "That was amazing," Harry smiles at me. Seeing them all infront of me, smiling at me so proudly, so close I can touch them makes me want to cry. "I've got to go," I say, trying to push past them and into my room. They stop me.
"Look Valarie, we know we've been awful friends but we're trying, we really are," He mumbles. "By performing at my show? As if that makes it any better," I roll my eyes, disgusted.
I'm halfway through my dressing room when Liam, finally angry enough to snap at me shouts, "Why did you let us perform then?" He snaps. I turn around and look him right in the eye. "Sometimes management makes us do things we don't want to do." I quote him from the last time we spoke and watch him cringe, his fists clenching. I smirk at his upset face and slam the door in the rest of the bands.

The doorbell rings and I trudge down the stairs in my pajamas, since Mom isn't home. It's Liam. "Liam, go away, I don't want to even talk to you," I try to close the door but he stops me. "Don't flatter yourself, my mother is making me invite you over for dinner," He rolls his eyes. "Sorry, I'd rather not," I glare at him. "Just doing what my mom asked me to," He shrugs. I slam the door closed. To my dismay, Mrs. Payne had called my mom, just in case I didn't pass the invitation along, which I hadn't. When Mom realized I hadn't told her about the dinner, I got in trouble. No phone for a week. Whatever.
I sit in the car outside the Paynes house, dreading what's to come. "Let's go," Mom sighs. I get out of the car reluctantly and enter the house slowly. When I get in the living room I notice a girl's voice talking to Liams. Then it hits me, it's Danielle. Liam looks up and smirks, kissing Danielle right on the lips.
When he's done, he looks right at me, meaning in his eyes. Not only is Danielle worth going against management for when I clearly was not, but he knows how badly I wanted us to work out as a couple.
I know Liam better than anybody so I also know that he wants nothing more than for me to forgive him. I scowl at him while walking over to the other guys, my arms outstretched, ready for a hug.
They embrace me gratefully, "Friends again?" Zayn laughs. "Best friends," I emphasize best, Liam and I glaring at eachother.
But it's too late.
This is war.

* * * * *
What do you guys think!? Val and Liam are ready to battle it out, while Val is reunited with the other members of One Direction.. Could it be that Val and Liam are just to proud to apologize? And if they don't do it soon.. Could their friendship be gone forever?

She's Not Afraid
Chapter Three

Hannah, Angie, Cora, Olive, and I ran out from backstage and into the camera’s view in that order.
“Now let’s see how we’re all going to fit on this couch,” I said and the interviewer chuckled.
The five of us sat down and then she looked at Hannah.
“This is one of your first live interviews right?” she asked and we all nodded.
“Yeah it is,” Hannah said.
“So how long have you guys been performing?” she asked.
I continued to try to think of where I knew this woman from as the other four girls answered the question.
“Sammy?” Cora asked and I snapped back to Earth.
“Oh I’ve been singing since I was three and I started performing at five. I was in, like, school plays and stuff,” I said.
“Did you play any leads?” the interviewer asked.
“A few times, yeah, I did. I played Annie when I was eight and Sandy when I was 13,” I said and she nodded.
“So who would you call the leader of the band?” she asked.
“Hannah,” we all said, with little thought.
“I guess me then,” Hannah said and we all chuckled.
“So is there any rivalry over that? I know, Sammy, you’re Hannah’s little sister,” she said.
“I don’t usually argue with her for the spotlight or anything,” I said, “it’s more of a Hannah you took my shoes! Where’d you put my eyeliner? Type thing,” I said and everyone chuckled.
For the rest of the interview I wasn’t really part of the questions so I just sat back and listened. A good twenty minutes went by and then I heard my name.
“So earlier I interviewed the British band One Direction,” she said.
“I believe you mean British/Irish band,” I interrupted and she chuckled.
“Yes well, about the Irish part actually, did you hear about Niall’s new crush?” she asked like a little kid.
“Yeah I did,” I said. I was acting a bit more mature than her right now and she had to be in her thirties. “I watched the interview this morning while I was getting ready for ours.”
“What was your reaction?” she asked and I just smiled.
“Cora freaked out,” I said.
“You did too,” Cora muttered under her breath.
“What?” the interviewer asked.
“SAMMY FREAKED OUT WHEN NIALL SAID HE THOUGHT SHE WAS CUTE BECAUSE SHE’S DESPERATELY IN LOVE WITH HIM AND DREAMS SHE DOES NAUGHTY THINGS WITH HIM!” Angie shouted and I covered my face with my hands.
“I do not dream naughty things, I really hate the both of you right now, and, Angie, Liam?” I said and she gave me a death look.
“What about Liam?” the interview asked.
“ANGIE HAS A CRUSH ON LIAM PAYNE AND ONE TIME I FOUND HER MAKING OUT WITH A BIG POSTER OF HIM!” I shouted and Angie hit me in the stomach.
“Can we change the subject before things get even crazier?” Olive asked and the interviewer nodded.
“I’m actually out of time but I want to ask, have you ever met them?” she asked.
“No,” Olive said, “but we all really want to.”
“Okay well that’s all the time we have for today! This has been an interview with CHAOS and you can buy their album and tickets for their tour on www.chaos theband.com/tickets or /album depending on what you’re looking for!” she said and then the cameras turned off.
“And we’re clear!” a man shouted and the five of u stood up, as the blonde woman got her makeup touched up.
“If Niall watched that I’m going to kill you,” I said to Cora and Angie.
“If Liam watched that I’m going to kill you,” Olive said to me and I chuckled.

The Little Things
~Chapter 7~
I decided to do the right thing and break up with Brian the day he went back home. I could commit myself to him when I really love Liam. I stop at Liam's house and find the rest of the guys hanging out in the living room. "Way to invite me, guys," I joke. They all get quiet. "It was a joke guys, c'mon," I laugh. "Val, can we talk?" Liam whispers, not looking me in the eye. "Sure," I whisper, following him. I look back at the guys as we walk away. They sit, still silent. I get a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.
"I told the guys about Mr. Manson," He says, sitting on his bed. "What'd they say?" I ask, sitting beside him. "Well.. no one thinks you should do it," He breathes. "Why not?" I whisper. "Well. it can be.. uhm," He struggles to find words. "It can be hard," He sighs. "Like when?" I ask, biting my lip. "Like now is one of those times," He says shakily. I get tears in my eyes, sensing something bad. "What's wrong Liam?" I ask. "Sometimes, the management doesn't let you do certain things," He says, and I can tell he's crying too. "Like what Liam?" I say forcefully. "Like ignore the people you love," He whispers, looking up at me. "Liam," I breathe. "We can't talk to you anymore, Val," He says, his face torn. "Why?" I whisper. "I don't know, but I need to do what they tell me, we all do," He says quietly.
I storm out of the room. "Valarie, wait!" Zayn shouts. "We don't want it like this," Harry breathes. "You all knew, and no one told me! What were you gonna do? Treat me like crap until I had enough? You lied to me!" I scream. "All of you," I whisper. Liam walks into the room, his face looking so sad it breaks my heart. "Val," He whispers. I want to make him feel the way I do.
"Don't call me that ever again," I spit. "My old best friend used to call me that name, he's the only one I want to have called me it," I snap before running out the door, leaving behind the family I used to be a part of.

I sit in a room, waiting. "Ah, Valarie," Mr. Manson says, reaching out to hug me. "I've made my decision," I whisper. "Are you sure? You can have more time, if you'd like." He smiles kindly. I think back to earlier this afternoon and shake my head. "I'm ready." I breathe. He nods, "Let's get started then,"

FIVE MONTHS LATER
"Mom, where's my other earring?" I shout down the stairs. "I don't know but we're going to be late." She yells up back to me. I roll my eyes. Tonight is my first show. It's funny, I was an instant hit, getting amazing success in a very short amount of a time. I walk down the stairs, and hug my mom. "I'm so proud of you," She whispers. I look up at her. "Do you miss them?" She asks quietly, seeing it in my eyes. "So much," I breathe. "I just can't believe something like this is happening and they're not by my side," I say softly. She nods, hugging me tighter.
When I get in the bus, Mr. Manson smiles at me hugely. "You'll never guess who we got to play as an opening act," He says excitedly. "Who?" I ask. "They don't usually do this, but they said for you, they would!" He claps his hands joyously. "Who?" I repeat. "Do you know the band One Direction?" He asks, proud of himself.
I gasp, then quickly say sadly,
"I used to."

* * * * *
What do you guys think!? Do you think One Direction is trying to make up for how they acted before? And should they have gone against management and stuck it out for Val? Lemme know!

Over Again
Chapter One

“GET OUT!” I yelled at Jason. “JUST GET OUT OF HERE!”
“DON’T F-CKING TALK TO ME THAT WAY!” he screamed back at me, slamming me into the wall.
“JASON STOP!” I yelled. Extreme pain shot up my back from being slammed into a wall.
“SINCE WHEN DO YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO? F-CKING B-TCH YOU HAVE NO CONTROL!” he shouted and I began to cry.
“I told you we were over just leave!” I said with force but quietly.
“WHATEVER!” he yelled and he threw me onto the floor and stormed out of my house.
My parents were out of town and I was told I was allowed to have him over. My parents liked Jason and so did I, just not right now. He can get really abusive from time to time (my parents just don’t know it) and I was sick and tired of it. I finally decided to break up with him and that’s’ what happened. He just exploded on me.
I sat against the wall and cried, my dark brown hair sticking to my face because of my tears. My nose was bleeding and my back hurt really badly. I reached for my cellphone that had fallen out of my pocket when Jason slammed me into the wall. I called my best friend, Lexi.
“Danni?” she asked and I sniffled.
“Yeah it’s me,” I said in between sobs.
“Did he hit you again?” she asked.
“No,” I said, “he slammed me against the wall and then threw me on the floor. I need you to come over here.”
“I’ll be right over just hang in there okay?” she said and then the line went dead.
About ten minutes later my door burst open and Lexi called for me.
“I’m over here Lex,” I said and she turned her head towards me.
She helped me up and got me over to the couch.
“What hurts?” she asked and I moaned.
“My back, my nose, and he punched me in the eye,” I said and she nodded.
“Your eye is swollen a bit and your nose is bleeding so, I see that. Let me see your back,” she said and I rolled over.
She pulled up my shirt and winced.
“It’s black and blue, Dan,” she said, “it’s bleeding a bit too.”
“Go get like, all the ice packs out of the freezer,” I said and that’s what she did.
She helped me position the ice packs on my back and gave me one to put on my eye.
“Can you still go to the meet and greet tomorrow?” she asked.
“Probably,” I said. “I don’t care how much pain I’m in, though, I’m meeting those boys.”

I dare you.

Alex took out a blindfold.  "Put it on." He instructed.
I did as I was told, and tied the cltoh around my head.
"Where are we going?" I ask as he led me out of the car and through the night air.
"What makes you think that I would put a blindfold on you, and then tell you where we're going?" He asked laughing at me.
I sighed and continued to be dragged on.
"Alright, you can take it off now."
I ripped off the blindfold and looked all around at my surroundings.  There was a table lit by candlelight in a gazebo.  The gazebo was raised over a lake.  White Christmas lights were wrapped around the structure, and there was a single rose in a vase.
"You did all of this.. For me...?" I asked.
"Of course.. I'd do anything for you Addi."
"I love it, thanks!" I yelled as he pulled out my chair for me.
"That's not all..." He said.
As if on cue, his friend Jake came out dressed as a waiter.
He brought out chicken parmesan, grape soda, and chocolate cake, before disappearing.
"This is all my favorite foods, how'd you know?" I asked.
"I do my research." He said with a smile.
"Joselyn?" I guessed.
"Yup. But I cooked it!" He said confidently and I laughed.

The meal was delicious, and I figured we'd be going home soon.
"The night isn't over yet, there's one more surprise." He said as he layed out a blanket on the grass.
We layed down next to each other, looking at the stars.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise and jumped.
Alex laughed. "Calm down."
Finally I realized that it had been fireworks.
"Did you set this up too?" I asked, looking up at the aray of lights in the sky.
"Yeah." He said, wrapping and arm around my shoulder.
The show was amazing. There were all different kinds of fireworks, in all different shapes sizes and colors.
I was about to thank him for everything, when I heard the explosion on more time.
I directed my vision up into the night, but this time it spelled something out.

"Prom?"

Prologue
Hi, my name is Blair Everwood.
I'm a junior in high school, and I'm finally returning home to Malibu.
I needed some time to transform my shaggy little self into the beautiful girl I am today.
I went and lived with my Auntie Trish in Pennsylvania for the summer.
I had never been away from my family for that long, so I'm excited to see them.
But mostly, I'm excited for everyone to see what I had become in just three months.
I lost 50 pounds, grew my hair down to my butt, and learned how to style myself.
I had always been the girl who nobody noticed.
Average, boring, invisible; pretty much a cookie-cutter version of any teenager.
I was nothing special.
I was the girl who dreamed of being like the perfect models in Cosmo.
Both of my older sisters, Meg and Rachel, work for Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Rachel is the brainy editor, while Meg is a model.
Before I left, I was the only girl in my family who didn't act like a girl.
I didn't care what I looked like, or what people thought of me.
Until I had my first boyfriend.
His name was Brad, and boy was he cute.
I thought he dated me because he liked me, but then I found out the hard way that the only reason he dated me was because he had a bet with his friends to see if he could pick the ugliest girl and make her fall in love with him.
He won the bet, and I left Malibu.
But, here I am again.
And you know that saying, "all work, no play"?
That's what I did: all work, and no play.
But now, it's all about playing.
And no one really understands what it takes to be picture perfect.

Firefly
Chapter 3
I sipped my coffee as I looked around the familiar shop. This was where Danny and I went every weekend during our senior year in high school. Now that it was over, we had almost no time for each other.
I noticed a boy from behind the counter who looked to be my age staring in my direction. I couldn’t see him very well, but from what I saw of him, he was very attractive.
“Hey gurl hey!” I heard Danny’s voice call as he flamboyantly pushed his way into the shop.
I smiled at him, not moving from my chair. “Hi, Danny.”
He pulled out the seat across from me. “So, what’s up?”
“Nothing,” I sighed, leaning forward onto the table.
“Enjoying the summer? Oh my god. I cannot believe we aren’t in high school anymore. Woo! College kids!”
I grinned at him. “I know.”
“But gurl,” he told me, taking my hands, “We are def seeing each other over the vacay. I don’t wanna separate and not talk anymore because that would be a bad situation.”
“Love you too,” I laughed, breaking the touch between our fingers.
“Can I get you something?” a voice asked from behind me, and I spun to face the green eyes of the boy who was behind the counter.
“No, thank you,” Danny responded.
“Okay.” He nodded at us. “Let me know.” He grinned at me while he went back to the cash register.
“Guurl,” Dylan murmured, leaning over to me, “He is fine.”
I bit my lip. “I know.”
“And he was checkin’ you out! Go get ‘im, Mama.”
“No!” I laughed. “He’s probably not interested anyways.”
Dylan rolled his eyes. “Okay, well look, I actually was gunna go look at apartments with the BF, so I’ll hit you up lata,” he told me, waving his fingers at me as he stood up and started walking to the door.
“Bye, Danny,” I laughed.
“Bye, gowgeous.”
I sighed and began collecting my things. I looked up to catch the cashier staring at me again. I titled my head at him. “Can I help you?” I asked, grinning.
“Sorry, you’re just really pretty,” he told me casually. I smiled at him. “I’m Caleb,” he introduced.
“Elizabeth,” I told him, “But people call me Lizzie.”
“Was that your boyfriend?” he asked.
I creased my brow. “You really think Danny likes girls?” I asked.
He giggled. “No. I just didn’t want to assume.”
I laughed at him. “No. I’m not his girlfriend.”
“Then whose girlfriend are you?”
I felt a small smile break out on my face. “No one’s.”
“Then can I maybe take you out later tonight? For dinner?”
I grinned. I didn’t have work, or anything else to do.
