The Little
Things
~Chapter
8~
I watch from backstage as One Direction
performs my opening act. I smile to myself, knowing that this is
the way it was supposed to be all along. My smile fades when I
realize that it's not the same, and it shouldn't be like
this; Not when we haven't spoken to eachother in five months.
I hear them introduce me and make my way to the corner of the
stage, still hiden from the audience, as One Direction walks off
and I walk on, Liam grabs my arm. "Val.. I mean,
Valarie," He mumbles. I stop and then slide my arm out of
his grasp, walking to the center of the stage, a huge smile on my
face. The sold out arena is filled of my fans, screaming my name
(My stage name is just Valarie, not Val, and no last name). The
sound of their screams is deafening, but some how, my singing is
even louder.
During my whole performance, all three hours of it, I think about
the day in the cafe when I was too normal to be with Liam and his
famous friends, knowing that soon enough, I'll have some
famous friends of my own.
When I walk off the stage, I can't stop smiling, the feeling
inside my body is just too much to explain. I'm beyond happy.
Until I notice five guys standing infront of my dressing room.
Mr. Manson walks up, and hugs me tightly, he's become like a
father to me, "You're amazing," He ruffles my hair
before letting me go so I can hug my mother. "You're
perfect," She says, tears in her eyes. "Awh, Mom,"
I smile, hugging her tightly too. Suddenly, Mr. Manson and Mom
notice the guys and slowly walk away, I'm guessing Mom
explained everything to him during the show. "Wow, Val..
Valarie," Liam corrects himself once again. "That was
amazing," Harry smiles at me. Seeing them all infront of me,
smiling at me so proudly, so close I can touch them makes me want
to cry. "I've got to go," I say, trying to push
past them and into my room. They stop me.
"Look Valarie, we know we've been awful friends but
we're trying, we really are," He mumbles. "By
performing at my show? As if that makes it any better," I
roll my eyes, disgusted.
I'm halfway through my dressing room when Liam, finally angry
enough to snap at me shouts, "Why did you let us perform
then?" He snaps. I turn around and look him right in the
eye. "Sometimes management makes us do things we
don't want to do." I quote him from the last time we
spoke and watch him cringe, his fists clenching. I smirk at his
upset face and slam the door in the rest of the bands.
The doorbell rings and I trudge down the stairs in my pajamas,
since Mom isn't home. It's Liam. "Liam, go away, I
don't want to even talk to you," I try to close the door
but he stops me. "Don't flatter yourself, my mother is
making me invite you over for dinner," He rolls his eyes.
"Sorry, I'd rather not," I glare at him. "Just
doing what my mom asked me to," He shrugs. I slam the door
closed. To my dismay, Mrs. Payne had called my mom, just in case
I didn't pass the invitation along, which I hadn't. When
Mom realized I hadn't told her about the dinner, I got in
trouble. No phone for a week. Whatever.
I sit in the car outside the Paynes house, dreading what's to
come. "Let's go," Mom sighs. I get out of the car
reluctantly and enter the house slowly. When I get in the living
room I notice a girl's voice talking to Liams. Then it hits
me, it's Danielle. Liam looks up and smirks, kissing Danielle
right on the lips.
When he's done, he looks right at me, meaning in his eyes.
Not only is Danielle worth going against management for when I
clearly was not, but he knows how badly I wanted us to work out
as a couple.
I know Liam better than anybody so I also know that he wants
nothing more than for me to forgive him. I scowl at him while
walking over to the other guys, my arms outstretched, ready for a
hug.
They embrace me gratefully, "Friends again?" Zayn
laughs. "Best friends," I emphasize best, Liam and I
glaring at eachother.
But it's too late.
This is war.

What do you guys
think!? Val and Liam are ready to battle it out, while Val is
reunited with the other members of One Direction.. Could it be
that Val and Liam are just to proud to apologize? And if they
don't do it soon.. Could their friendship be gone
forever?
The Little
Things
~Chapter
7~
I decided to do the right thing and break up
with Brian the day he went back home. I could commit myself to
him when I really love Liam. I stop at Liam's house and find
the rest of the guys hanging out in the living room. "Way to
invite me, guys," I joke. They all get quiet. "It was a
joke guys, c'mon," I laugh. "Val, can we
talk?" Liam whispers, not looking me in the eye.
"Sure," I whisper, following him. I look back at the
guys as we walk away. They sit, still silent. I get a horrible
feeling in the pit of my stomach.
"I told the guys about Mr. Manson," He says, sitting on
his bed. "What'd they say?" I ask, sitting beside
him. "Well.. no one thinks you should do it," He
breathes. "Why not?" I whisper. "Well. it can be..
uhm," He struggles to find words. "It can be
hard," He sighs. "Like when?" I ask, biting my
lip. "Like now is one of those times," He says shakily.
I get tears in my eyes, sensing something bad. "What's
wrong Liam?" I ask. "Sometimes, the management
doesn't let you do certain things," He says, and I can
tell he's crying too. "Like what Liam?" I say
forcefully. "Like ignore the people you love," He
whispers, looking up at me. "Liam," I breathe. "We
can't talk to you anymore, Val," He says, his face torn.
"Why?" I whisper. "I don't know, but I need to
do what they tell me, we all do," He says quietly.
I storm out of the room. "Valarie, wait!" Zayn shouts.
"We don't want it like this," Harry breathes.
"You all knew, and no one told me! What were you gonna do?
Treat me like crap until I had enough? You lied to me!" I
scream. "All of you," I whisper. Liam walks into the
room, his face looking so sad it breaks my heart.
"Val," He whispers. I want to make him feel the way I
do.
"Don't call me that ever again," I spit. "My
old best friend used to call me that name, he's the only one
I want to have called me it," I snap before running out the
door, leaving behind the family I used to be a part of.
I sit in a room, waiting. "Ah, Valarie," Mr. Manson
says, reaching out to hug me. "I've made my
decision," I whisper. "Are you sure? You can have more
time, if you'd like." He smiles kindly. I think back to
earlier this afternoon and shake my head. "I'm
ready." I breathe. He nods, "Let's get started
then,"
FIVE MONTHS LATER
"Mom, where's my other earring?" I shout down the
stairs. "I don't know but we're going to be
late." She yells up back to me. I roll my eyes. Tonight is
my first show. It's funny, I was an instant hit, getting
amazing success in a very short amount of a time. I walk down the
stairs, and hug my mom. "I'm so proud of you," She
whispers. I look up at her. "Do you miss them?" She
asks quietly, seeing it in my eyes. "So much," I
breathe. "I just can't believe something like this is
happening and they're not by my side," I say softly. She
nods, hugging me tighter.
When I get in the bus, Mr. Manson smiles at me hugely.
"You'll never guess who we got to play as an opening
act," He says excitedly. "Who?" I ask. "They
don't usually do this, but they said for you, they
would!" He claps his hands joyously. "Who?" I
repeat. "Do you know the band One Direction?" He asks,
proud of himself.
I gasp, then quickly say sadly,
"I used to."
* * * * *
What do you guys
think!? Do you think One Direction is trying to make up for how
they acted before? And should they have gone against management
and stuck it out for Val? Lemme know!
I dare you.

Addison's
P.O.V.
Alex took out a
blindfold. "Put it on." He instructed.
I did as I was told, and tied the cltoh around my head.
"Where are we going?" I ask as he led me out of the car
and through the night air.
"What makes you think that I would put a blindfold on you,
and then tell you where we're going?" He asked laughing
at me.
I sighed and continued to be dragged on.
"Alright, you can take it off now."
I ripped off the blindfold and looked all around at my
surroundings. There was a table lit by candlelight in a
gazebo. The gazebo was raised over a lake. White
Christmas lights were wrapped around the structure, and there was
a single rose in a vase.
"You did all of this.. For me...?" I asked.
"Of course.. I'd do anything for you Addi."
"I love it, thanks!" I yelled as he pulled out my chair
for me.
"That's not all..." He said.
As if on cue, his friend Jake came out dressed as a waiter.
He brought out chicken parmesan, grape soda, and chocolate cake,
before disappearing.
"This is all my favorite foods, how'd you know?" I
asked.
"I do my research." He said with a smile.
"Joselyn?" I guessed.
"Yup. But I cooked it!" He said confidently and I
laughed.
The meal was delicious, and I figured we'd be going home
soon.
"The night isn't over yet, there's one more
surprise." He said as he layed out a blanket on the
grass.
We layed down next to each other, looking at the stars.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise and jumped.
Alex laughed. "Calm down."
Finally I realized that it had been fireworks.
"Did you set this up too?" I asked, looking up at the
aray of lights in the sky.
"Yeah." He said, wrapping and arm around my
shoulder.
The show was amazing. There were all different kinds of
fireworks, in all different shapes sizes and colors.
I was about to thank him for everything, when I heard the
explosion on more time.
I directed my vision up into the night, but this time it spelled
something out.
"Prom?"
