Chapter 18

I woke up the next morning in a room that wasn't mine.
I suddenly remembered that I was forced to stay over at Travis' house, because of the hurricane that was literally knocking over trees outside.
I peered over Travis' window, noticing that it was drizzling lightly outside, but the storm was gone.
I suddenly stared down, noticing an arm wrapped around my waist.
I looked over at Travis, who was still sleeping beside me, his bare chest peeking through the sheets.
My cheeks suddenly turned bright red, as Travis stirred in his sleep, snuggling closer towards me.
I felt the hard planes of his stomach being pressed against mine, as my breath hitched.
I started to feel uneasy and nervous, as Travis fingers tickled my side.
Why was I feeling like this?
This emotion was so new and raw to me.
My eyes suddenly went wide, as my heart hammered against my chest with realization.
I think I was in love with Travis.
All along, when I was hanging around him, or even talking to him, I hadn't realized that little by little, I was slowly falling for him.
I stared back at Travis' pale face, noticing a single loose strand of hair that was falling on his eyes.
My hands itched to brush it away, as they rose up shakily.
Once my fingers brushed against his forehead briefly, Travis' eyes snapped open.
I jumped back, as my heard raced against my chest.
"You scared the living-" I started off.
But, I was cut off once I noticed that Travis had sat up, with a wide smirk across his lips.
It didn't help either that he was completely shirtless.
"Were you touching me in my sleep?" he asked with amusement twinkling in those stupid green eyes of his.
My mouth suddenly felt dry, as I stared at him with disbelief.
"You're kidding me, right?" I choked, giving him a sudden glare.
I reached over at my pillow, tossing it directly at his face. "I wasn't touching you, you pervert!"
Travis laughed, as he raised his arms up to defend himself.
"Sure doesn't seem like it, Riley!" he teased. "Admit it, you liked touching me. That's why you're so red right now!"
My eyes widened, as my hands flew up to touch my cheeks.
Sure enough, they were blazing red and hot.
"You're unbelievable!" I snapped, suddenly getting up from Travis' bed.
I began to storm out of his room, crossing my arms.
Who was he to accuse me of touching him?
Before I got out of his room, though, I felt Travis' arms wrap around my waist, pulling me backwards.
I fell back on his bed, my back pressed against his chest.
He buried his face into my shoulders, making my turn bright red.
"Don't go." he muffled against my neck.
And I didn't.

Chapter 16

This was the first time I was ever experiencing a hurricane.
The wind was blowing rapidly outside, whipping my hair out of my neck, and the rain was coming down hard.
I looked up at the sky, knowing for sure that this hurricane wasn't going to end soon.
There was already a pond of water on Travis' lawn, ruining the bright, lucid green grass.
"Are you coming inside or are you just going to get rained on?!" Travis called, already at his top steps.
His hood was over his head, covering his hair from getting dampened in the rain.
I was staring up at Travis' house, still awestruck at how big it was.
When Travis called my name out, I snapped out of trance, running up towards the door that Travis had already opened.
Not wanting to get my muddy shoes all over Travis' carpet, I kicked off my shoes by the sides.
My entire sweater was soaking wet from the down pour outside, making me shiver from the coldness.
But, my shivering was ignored once my jaw dropped at the sight of Travis' house.
Everything looked so expensive and polished.
"Damn, I didn't think you were serious when you said your parents were freaking loaded." I muttered under my breath, a strand of wet hair falling in my face.
I heard Travis snort, as I followed him up the grand, spiral staircase.
I bit my lip insecurely, wondering if I was making the place dirtier by just stepping in it.
Travis' house was totally out of my league.
"Do you need a spare change of clothes?" Travis asked, once we stopped by his room.
He was already rummaging through his dressers, fishing out a loose t-shirt and some sweatpants.
I was too busy staring at his room to notice that he had tossed the clothes at me.
The room looked brand new- as if no one had ever slept in it.
The sheets were smooth and neatly made, which made me curious.
Knowing Travis, he would never do his own bed.
"I don't sleep at home a lot." Travis explained, noticing the frown I had on my face. "I usually crash at a friend's place when my parents are home."
I nodded slowly. "They aren't home now?"
Travis shook his head, running a hand through his dampened hair. "No."
I bit on my lower lips, as I reached down to pick up the clothes that Travis got for me.
I ordered him to get out, as Travis gave me a smirk before closing his bedroom door behind him.
I held a smile on my face, as I stripped out of my wet clothes, tossing them to the side.
The t-shirt Travis gave me was a bit too big on me, reaching just a few inches above my mid-thigh.
Before I got to put my sweatpants on, though, my phone rang from my soaked jeans.
I groaned, reaching over to take out my phone.
"Mom?" I muttered, pressing the phone to my ears.
"Honey, where are you?" she asked with panic. "The house has no electricity, and you haven't called me since you got out of school! Are you safe?"
I let out a low laugh, shaking my head. "I'm fine mom, at a friend's house."
"Who, Scarlet?" my mother question.
I bit my lower lip hesitantly. "Yes, Scarlet." I lied right through my teeth.
"That's good." my mother muttered on the other line. "Stay over at her place until the storm clears up, okay? I don't want you walking out in the streets in this weather."
"I got it, mom." I smiled. "Love you."
"Love you too." my mother said, before the two of us hung up.
Before I could even get my sweatpants on, Travis' bedroom door swung open.

Chapter 17

The look on Travis' face was completely blank.
His eyes were wide, and his face went hollow and pale.
Normally, I would've started to blush and hide myself around Travis without my pants on, but inside, I started to laugh.
I couldn't contain my laughter, as Travis' face went from horror to confusion.
"What the hell is so funny?" Travis asked, his cheeks turning slightly red.
I didn't know what I found so funny; maybe it was the fact that I managed to get the school's rebel to turn silent and red.
"And who takes so long to change, anyways?" Travis suddenly snapped, clearing his throat. "You were up here for ten minutes. I just wanted to check to see if you were dead or not!"
I bit my lips from smiling too much, as I raised an eyebrow.
"Calm down, Travis." I pointed to the hem of the shirt that I still had on, that reached mid thigh, long enough so that he couldn't see anything. "It's not like I'm naked or anything."
Travis stared at me for a long moment, before blinking.
He turned his head away, about to head out of the room.
"I made hot chocolate downstairs, if you want some." he muttered, before leaving.
I smiled. How often do you hear of a bad boy making you hot chocolate?
***
I yawned for the fifth time throughout the movie, my eyes getting moist and teary.
My eyelids started to become heavy, as I leaned my head against the arm rest of Travis' couch.
Travis' head snapped towards mine, noticing that I was about to knock out.
"Come on." Travis urged, standing up on his feet to pull me up.
I groaned, as I closed my eyes, blocking out Travis' hushed whispers. "Get up, Riley, before I have to drag you."
I flipped him my finger, before rolling onto my side. "Can I just sleep on the couch tonight?"
Travis stayed quiet for a moment, much to my relief.
Maybe he was finally going to leave me alone in peac-
"I'm not letting you sleep on this hard couch." he groaned, as I felt him pick me up.
I was too tired to protest, as I felt Travis' arms snake around my legs to hold me up.
Travis walked me up the stairs, before placing me down on a bed.
The bed smelt faintly of cigarettes and mint, making me notice immediately that I was on his bed.
"Travis, where are you sleeping?" I managed to mutter.
Travis let out an exhausted sigh, as I heard the sound of his hands running through his hair. "I don't know, on the floor?"
Even though I was nearly dead asleep, I still felt a guilty pain in my stomach.
"No." I slurred, letting out another yawn. "Stay with me."
Travis hesitated before I felt the sheets moving.
I felt weight being put on the bed, as the warmth of Travis' bare chest radiated onto me.
"Are you sure?" he whispered.
I suddenly rolled onto my side, my arm brushing against Travis' bare skin.
"You aren't wearing a shirt?" I asked.
Travis smirked, before leaning into me, closing his eyes. "I never do."

No updates tomorrow because of Thanksgiving!
Everyone have a happy holiday! :)

Chapter 15

"Has anyone ever told you that you eat like a man?" Travis asked.
I was in the process in taking a large bite out of my burger, but I stopped just to give Travis a glare.
I rolled my eyes, before taking an obnoxiously large bite on purpose.
"Shut up." I muffled with a mouthful of juicy beef in my mouth.
Travis chuckled amusedly, before shoving a few of his own fries in his mouth.
We managed to get out of the woods, after an hour of trying to find a way out.
I almost wanted to punch Travis once he told me that he knew how to get out, except the fact that he didn't tell me, because he found it amusing that I was getting frustrated being lost.
"But you weight like a feather." he muttered, as he picked up my free hand.
I swear, I thought he was going to hold my hand.
But, at the last minute, Travis slid his fingers away from mine, holding my wrist.
I couldn't help but feel the slightest bit disappointed that he didn't want to hold my hand.
He wrapped his entire hand around it, before shaking it in my face.
"See?" he proved to me. "You have little scrawny chicken arms."
I gasped, as I turned to him, shooting him a murderous glare.
"I swear, Travis Kapone, you will be the death of me." I spat.
Travis smirked, throwing his head back in laughter.
Once he calmed down, he stared me in the eyes with a crooked grin.
"You're cute." he suddenly said, making me choke on my fries.
I coughed, as Travis stared at me with his eyebrows raised.
I grabbed my soda, taking a long gulp, before staring back up at Travis with wide eyes.
"Did you just call me cute?" I asked with disbelief.
Travis frowned, before nodding slowly. "Yeah, you're cute, Riley."
I blinked, as my cheeks turned bright red.
I dropped my head low, as I stared at my half eaten burger.
What was Travis doing to me?
This hammering feeling inside my chest, it wasn't normal, was it?
"Ew." I suddenly said, making Travis stare at me with surprised eyes. "Cute is for like, wide eyed bambi girls."
Travis stared at me with disbelief, before he let out a snort of laughter.
"You know, most girls would talk cute as a compliment."
Rolling my eyes, I played with my chewed straw that was in my soda.
"Well, I guess I'll take it as a compliment." I reconsidered it, giving him a smirk. "I mean, after all, when do you ever hear Travis Kapone giving someone a compliment?"
Travis rolled his eyes. "Funny, Riley." he said sarcastically. "Really funny."
I laughed, much to his dismay. "Yay!" I cheered obnoxiously. "I'm funny now, too?"
Travis gave me a glare, before sighing.
"Just eat your burger, Riley."
