part 23.
6 years later.
Leslie's POV

"I'm messing this up!!" Natalie sighed stressfully, from behind me. I looked up at her through the mirror.
"I think it looks fine.. you're doing a good job." I smiled. She huffed, but continued.
"LESLIE!" Jamie squealed, sneaking through the door.
"way to be late." I sarcastically rolled my eyes.
"I blame John.." She sighed, rolling her eyes. She hung up her coat and purse, then walked over to me and Natalie. They both continued doing my hair as my mom and other friends were all in the room talking to me.
"time to put the dress on!!" my aunt said walking in the room with the bag. Everyone stood up and helped me into it.
"you look breath taking.." Natalie said, finishing one last piece of my hair, then smiling.
"gorgeous.." Jamie smiled. I rolled my eyes, not taking anyone elses complements well either. I asked everyone but Jamie to go out and make sure everyone was here, and keep themselves busy, since we were super duper early.
"is he here yet." I asked looking down at my dress.
"yup.." She said, nodding. Then went behind me and placed my necklace around my neck and hooked it on for me.
"I don't understand either of you honestly..." She sighed confused, as she straightened it out, and starred at me through the huge mirror.
"I blame Jesse.." I laughed lightly.
"he.. wants to see you.. want me to go get him.." She asked. I starred at her with wide eyes.
"I'll be in the room too stupid." she rolled her eyes.
"please... I don't wanna be alone.. I'll flip out, cry, and not marry Vincent." I said, as I felt my blood pressure, and body temperature rise all at once just thinking about Jesse. She left quickly, and I heard her heels echoing down the hall as she hussled. I paced around with nerves, then slipped into my heels to keep myself occupied as I waited. I stood on the petistool, and spun around looking at me in the long, heavy, sparkling white gown.
"knock.." Jesse laughed walking in. I rolled my eyes with a chuckle.
"damn, you look gorgeous." He said with wide eyes, just starring at me. I laughed and shrugged, and starred at my reflection.
"take a compliment goof." He rolled his eyes.
"It's kind've hard when I'm not fully happy with everything.." I said under my breath.
"I'm not happy with it either, but there isn't much we can do about it." He sighed.
"you could've fought for me a little, talked to my parents, talked to Xavier, but no. You just let me slip away without saying a word. You let my parents win, and now look where we are." I nearly screamed. I heard the whole church grow quiet.
"calm down.." he whispered.
"kind've hard to do when the guy I love more than my fiance doesn't love me back, and I can't get over him for the life of me." I said and then stormed out of the room.
"Leslie!" Jamie scolded in a whisper.
"What" I said about to cry.
"you better not cry.." she scolded again, as we heard the choir singing and the pastor making his speech.
"I can't do this.." I said and ran down the stairs to the back of the church and walked outside, and started walking through the parking lot. I heard the door quickly close, and footsteps running after me.
"you are not gunna be a run away bride just because of me.." Jesse sighed, standing infront of me.
"that should be you, with all of your best men in there, and waiting for me down that aisle, NOT Vinny." I said firmly.
"I think we both know that, but we both also know that your parents, nor your whole family would allow that.." he sighed.
"you think I care? if they don't respect who I love and want to spend the rest of my life with, then I shouldn't call them my family, let alone my parents." I sighed.
"well, I'm not going to be the reason why my wife doesn't have any contact with her family. I want a family blessing if I marry someone.. you hear what they say about me, and to me whenever we're in the same room.. they say it right infront of me." He said stressfully.
"your family loves Vinny, you love Vinny, go marry him. You must love him if you agreed to marry him... yah goof.." he smiled amusedly. I rolled my eyes, a smile slowly appearing. He chuckled, then we jogged to the front of the church and he made it just in time to walk in with the rest of Vinny's best men, and I walked over to my bridesmaids.
"you ok?" Jamie whispered. I nodded quickly, then we walked upstairs and they started walking in. My dad walked up next to me, and linked arms with me.
"you don't like Vinny... do you..." he said slowly, and heart broken.
"I do.." I lied, trying to sound convincing.
"I saw you with..... Jesse." He said, sounding like it took everything he had in him to speak his name.
"you did.." I asked shyly.
"mhm, if you liked him so much, then why didn't you fight us about it, me and your mother would've gotten over it, and dealt with him after awhile.." He shrugged.
"because, I was so tired of the fighting that was already going on with Xavier, and you and mom that I just couldn't take anymore, let alone want to start more fights about Jesse.." I explained. He just nodded slowly, then It was our turn to walk in, and I held my breath. We walked in slowly. He walked me up next to Vinny as my mind went racing about him, my parents, and Jesse. I sighed and he took my hands, and rubbed them with his thumb as we concentrated on the priest.

part 21.

"So are you guys dating, or not." John asked as we walked up to the concession stand to get snacks. Me and Leslie looked at each other.
"I'm.. dating Cameron." She sighed, cleared her throat then looked away. I looked at John.
"that's a no." I confirmed. He just nodded slowly.
"what do you want.." I asked Leslie, looking around.
"I can pay.." She said, looking in her bag.
"Just tell me what you want." I sighed.
"No, you bought dinner, I can pay for myself." She argued. I just nodded, not wanting to make a fight out of it.
"do you want anything?" She offered as she moved up to the cashier.
"nope, I'm good." I sighed. She just smiled, and started telling the women her order.
"walk with me.." John said, and pushed me away, and we started walking to the usher, to give him our tickets.
"do you wanna date her." He asked, as we waited for the girls, up against a wall. I looked around, making sure she wasn't around.
"yeah, but I needa know more about her first." I shrugged. He just nodded, understandingly.
"why.." I asked curiously.
"because she does, so.. I just wanted to know, she never fully moved on, she just wanted you to think she did." He explained. I just nodded, taking it all in, but not fully understanding it.
"who?" Jamie asked curiously, leaning her head on Johns shoulder, and looking up at him, then over to me.
"nobody." John shrugged with a smile. He kissed her forehead then walked us over to the usher, then we walked to the theater. Once we got out of the movie, Jamie and John barely knew what the movie was even about because they were too busy making out.
"can you take me home now?" Leslie asked, with a half smile. I nodded, we said bye to Jamie and John, then walked out to my car.
"you ok?" I asked worriedly as I started driving her to her house.
"they just...." she trailed off, and looked out her window.
"they just?" I asked slowly.
"they make jealous." she nearly screamed.
"then.. that jealousy, makes me sad, then that saddness makes me depressed. Cause.. me and Cameron are NEVER like that.. and they just remind me of how me and you used to be.." She sighed, then slammed her head against the head rest of her passenger seat. I pulled over and she just had her hands over her face.
"have you ever told Cameron about this.. how you're mad that you and him don't act like how you want him and you to act.." I asked slowly. She shook her head "No" I sighed.
"well you need to.. and if he doesn't understand how you feel, he isn't worth your time.." I said, and just starred at her. She nodded, and slowly moved her hands away. She looked at me with a wet, teary face, and a frown. I gave her a smile, and she just chuckled lightly. She took out her phone and called Cameron. They had a fight, and she ended up breaking up with him. I hugged her for awhile as she cried about it, then I drove her to her house.
"come in?" she asked, as she starred at her dark house. Nobody was home. I agreed, she led us upstairs and she put her bag down, and starred at herself in her mirror.
"you were seriously able to look at me and not make fun of me, while I looked like this.." She asked, and started whipping her face with a tissue.
"yeah, I was more focused on you being so upset, than how you looked.." I shrugged, then layed down on her bed. She grabbed clothes and walked out to the bathroom. I took out my phone and texted Jamie, since she had texted me, asking about Leslie. We were talking as Leslie was in the bathroom doing whatever. She came out in sweats, a huge sweat shirt, and her hair up.
"this sweat shirt look familiar?" she asked, laughing.
"not at all.." I confessed while laughing, and looking at her. She stuck her tongue out.
"well it's yours.. or was.." She laughed, then walked back to her mirror. A couple minutes she walked over to me and sat down next to me.
"you know what John asked earlier.." She asked, looking down at her blanket.
"yeah.." I said slowly, looking at my phone.
"well.. I wanna date you... badly, but I don't want to if you still like Lydia.." She said, then I looked up at her.
"I don't... I have no idea why she was all I wanted once I woke up.. and I have no idea why I don't remember our past... but I started liking you, rather quickly by knowing you for such a short time.." I sighed.
"do you wanna go out?" I asked. She smiled and nodded a million times, then she bent down and we kissed. It was a long kiss, then that grew into us starting to make out. AFter a couple minutes, we stopped and we started talking. After an hour, I left and went home right before her parents came home.
a couple months later.
I eventually remembered everything about Leslie and our past, and that just made us even closer than we already were, and we had gotten closer than we were even before my accident. I never once returned to that block, or raced, or even drank after that accident. we're all still in school, it isn't graduation day yet. I walked through school wondering where Leslie was, since we usually met up in the morning, then I walked her to her first class, then we'd meet in lunch, then I'd walk her to english. I continued on with the day, confused. I never got a text from her or anything, and that's unusual for her, and us in general. Once it was finally lunch, I sat in our usual table, starring at the doors, waiting for Leslie to come, she never did.
"She's not here." Jamie said, eating her sandwich.
"where is she?" I asked confused.
"no clue, she wouldn't tell me.. she stayed home from school. I usually drive her in the morning, and you drive her home, and when I got to her house this morning, I called her, and she said that she wasn't coming to school... but refused to tell me why. She sounded wide awake, and perfectly healthy. She defiantly wasn't ok, emotional wise, like she was sniffling, so she was crying, but she didn't sound sick or anything.." Jamie explained, then shrugged. I nodded, and then left the school, since I had senior privelege, we could leave during lunch, and free periods. I drove to her house with Jamie, since I didn't want to go alone. I parked outside her house, and called her.
"hi." She said shyly.
"look out your window." I smiled. She groaned, then I saw her blinds bend down.
"are you crazy.." she nearly screamed. I laughed.
"I'm coming outside.." She sighed annoyed, then hungup. I got out of the car, and Jamie refused to. I walked up to her front door, and I wrapped her in a hug as soon as she walked outside.

part 18.

"Leslie!" I called, jogging after her later that day. She turned around on her heel, effortlessly, and gracefully.
"so, do you have time to talk? I'll walk you home." I offered. She thought about it, biting her lip, then simply nodded. We walked out of the school, and I followed her in the direction of her house.
"how'd you know I walk... do you remember?" She said, her eyes lit up with excitement.
"no... not yet." I sighed. She looked down, and nodded.
"I just.. didn't see a set of keys in your hands.. like everyone else.. so I just kinda figured.." I shrugged. She just nodded, looking at her notebook.
"so.. what did you wanna talk about?" She asked, and looked up me for a split second.
"I uh, was curious about why you ran off, today, during lunch." I said cautiously. Not wanting to upset her, like she was during lunch.
"I..uh. Already explained it to you once..." she sighed, then looked up at me alarmed.
"I SO did not mean that.. I'm sorry." She said quickly after. Then muttered something under breath to herself. I chuckled with a shrug.
"it's fine. No harm done." I smiled. She just nodded.
"My, uh. Brother had a drinking problem, so my mom kicked him out of the house. Then instead of getting help, him a couple of friends ran away to New York together, and stole kids on their way there." She sighed.
"but, when I told you the first time, you failed to tell me that you were one of them." She said, and looked up at me.
"well... I was probably shocked that someone so innocent could be related to someone so cruel. Your brother and his friends, beat us, killed kids, killed animals, without seeing a problem with, and without feeling guilty. I don't know how I reacted then, but right now I'm confused how you and him could be so completley different." I sighed. She just nodded. She cleared her throat before answering her buzzing phone.
"hi." She answered with a smile.
"no, I'm walking. Yup, Mhm, ok. See yah. Bye" She sighed, and put her phone away.
"so, how's... Lydia." She asked, in a pained voice.
"pretty good I guess, I don't know. I haven't talked to her in awhile, because my mom took all my electronics away for being an idiot and getting into the accident, and sneeking out." I sighed. She nodded with a chuckle.
"how are you getting home.. cause I doubt you remember your way back." She said laughing.
"I have no idea." I said, just realizing that she was right.
"once we get to my house, I'll drive you." She smiled. I thanked her.
"how's.. Cameron." I asked. My body tensed with anger, when I said his name.
"he's alright. He usually drives me, so he was just worried if I was ok, and everything." she sighed. I just nodded.
