Difficulties
part 2.
feed back pleeease!!
As soon as we walked into my room, I cranked my A.C., turned on
my tv, and logged onto my computer. I saw a Facebook message from a
guy in me and Shannon's grade, who never really socializes with
me. He is part of that "popular" group of people who get
high and drunk every weekend, then brag about it for three days
straight during school, and over use the term "yolo".
-Hey, Michie. I was just wondering if you would like to hangout
sometime?- Mike. I looked at the screen confused. This had to be a
prank, a dare, something like that. I looked at Shannon, who
must've had a similar expression as me right now.
-what's the catch?- I responded back, and we waited a little
bit for him to answer.
-no catch. I just think you're pretty chill, and wanted to know
if you wanna hang sometime, that's all, why, what's so
surprising bout that..- I sighed confused.
"say maybe, once Sean gets here we can meet up with him
someplace." Shannon offered. I nodded slowly, not really
wanting to agree, my conscience was going crazy, twisting my
stomach up, warning me that this wasn't a great idea.
-oh, ok. Do you wanna meet up today?- I responded, then Sean pulled
up to the house, once we came back into my room Mike had answered
me. Shannon started explaining to Sean what was going on.
-sure, meet me at Albany Bridge. Bring friends, I don't want it
to be awks.-
-alrighty.-
I changed my shirt quickly, then me and Shannon fixed our makeup
and hair, then we walked. Albany bridge is just a bridge seperating
two towns and the bridge is close to an elementry school called
Albany. So all the druggies and drunkies came up with a "code
name" for it, since that's the spot they all get drunk and
high at. My straight blonde hair was flowing behind me as I lead
the way, walking infront of Shannon and Sean, who I'm sure were
holding hands, or had their arms around each other in an adorably
cute couple pose. It wasn't that much of a walk from my house
to the bridge. We waited only about 10/15 minutes until we saw a
group of like 5 or 6 guys walking up to the bridge. Shannon and
Sean were in their own little world, looking at their phones,
taking pictures, talking to each other, giggling. I on the other
hand was internally exploding with millions of different emotions.
I didn't know how to feel about this at all. I wanted to
believe that for some odd reason, Mike had actually wanted to
hangout, with no other intentions, or friends forcing him to for
money. But, no matter how much I wanted to believe that, I just
couldn't. I knew him, and his friends better than that.
"hey Michy.." one of the nicer boys of the group,
greeted.
"Hi Matt." I smiled weakly.
"who are they?" Mike nodded towards Shannon and Sean,
they both looked over at us.
"Shannon and Sean." I said. He just nodded, and they all
waved over at them. Shannon and Sean waved back.
"so uh, what do you wanna do.." I asked, then dug my
hands into my back pockets of my shorts.
"uh, I don't know, I'm up for whatever." Mike
shrugged.
"Let's go to CVS I'm starving." James suggested.
Mike looked at me, I agreed. CVS was the closest store to us, and
it was fairly cheap, so we all walked to CVS together, Me and Mike
trailing behind the group.
"so, what made you want to randomly hangout... I didn't
know you knew I even existed to be honest." I said, looking
down at my sneakers.
"I knew you existed, We've had atleast one class together
every year since 5th grade.." Mike said, with a nervous
laugh.
"I guess, but you never made eye contact with me any of those
years, let alone talked to me.." I sighed.
"I did too, remember seventh grade, when everyone heard about
those rumors of you and Dylan from sixth grade, and everyone was
making fun of you. The first day those rumors got out, you walked
into science, and the whole class stopped talking since we were all
talking about you, and you walked past me, and I tripped you. We
made eye contact, and as you were falling I said "Freak
Falling" so yeah, I noticed you, made eye contact wih you, and
knew you existed." he argued, I rolled my eyes.
"whatever Mike.." I sighed.
"I'm sorry for that, by the way. I don't know why I
tripped you. It had such irrelevance to the rumors, it was
stupid." He shrugged.
"we were in seventh grade. Everything we did and said was
stupid." I agreed. He just laughed.
"and plus, you along with the whole student population thought
I was a freak.." I shrugged. He sighed.
"yeah, but we were retarded for thinking that, I mean, we
called you a freak just because you liked someone.." He said.
I nodded
"yes, but that someone was just an ordinary someone, It was
Dylan, part your little click, and I, I was in the click with the
outcasts and nerds, we, socialy, aren't supposed to like or
date someone for your click, hence why you, and all your friends
spread rumors, and made everyone think I was a freak.." I
explained. He had no answer to that, since he knew I was right.
"yeah, uh, sorry about that.." he said nervously. I just
nodded, I didn't care. That was close to 5 years ago, I was
over it at this point. Since Mike took out his phone, I took out
mine, and started texting Shannon. Then I got a text from an
un-known number, but I looked at it anyway.
-hey, it's Matt, one of the guys you're with right now.
Don't take Mike too seriously. This was all a bet by my
brother..-
-oh.. what's the bet..-
-it's basically challenging him to get you to like him, him ask
you out, and then break up with you before it gets too
serious..-
-so.. basically your brother said "bet'cha can't make
Michy Havens fall in love with you" ?-
-basically.-
-ok. Thanks.-
Now I had a new plan. I was going to turn this bet against him.
Mike Brown, Bet'cha can't fall in love with me.
