^ the bold & italic text in that code you can change. As far as the
types of borders you can have (this one is solid) here's all of 'em:

- dotted
- dashed
- solid
- double
- groove
- ridge
- inset
- outset

Other tips;;
- The colors found on the text fading website listed above all
work in these codes! So test them out there and then type the
colors into the codes (with no spaces).

- Sometimes when you use these codes (by pasting them into the
source) they don't seem to show up. What I do to make sure this
never happens, is after i paste the code, i type a bunch of random
letters right after it (<div style="border: 2px solid white;
width: 582px; height: 200px;">sldjm).

 If you have any questions

Tips For Quote Making
1. always have space above and below your quote.
2. if your quote is too wide to fit in the quote-making box, don't stress. sometimes it still fits, just open up the preview to see if it does.
3. don't be afraid to try out new formats, and try to make your own instead of using other people's. you'll be surprised how good they turn out.
4. can't think of a new fade? on the first link i have under "fades" you can click randomize colors. keep clicking until you find a fade that you like. this is mostly what i do when making quotes :)
5. quote looking boring? try adding lines above it. as in: _______________ or -------------------- and put them in a color fader, then they look really cool, and can totally spice up your quote format.

Hey Witty Friends. :]

I want to make this to teach anyone on Witty some codes and tricks. :D So feel free to fav this to check back for some help.. I can always help you! :D

You will post all of these in the SOURCE. by the editing part of making a quote. Make sure they are between <br /> Paste them in between the r and the /.

The only code I used for this quote was the text shadow one.

The font I am typing in has shadows. The code for making shadows:

<span style="text-shadow: 1px 3px 9px black;">
You can change anything in between the quotation marks. All codes (or all of them I can think of) start with '<span style=" ' and end with ' ;"> ' You can make the shadows bigger or smaller by changing the numbers. 'Px' and 'Pt' stands for pixels. Where it says 'black' you can change it to any other color, like 'pink' for example. Or, you can change it to a number-color. Typing in #ff0000 where 'black' is will make your shadows red, or any other color depending on the numbers. This works for backrounds, layouts, borders, fonts, etc. where it already has a name of a color.

Here are some other codes that are important to know:

To change the font to something that isn't in the options for making a quote: <span style="font-family: 'segoe print';">

You would type in the font you want where 'segoe print' is. You don't need the half- quotations there, but you need the full ones.

To change the color of the backround: <div style="background-color: black;">
Again, you can change where it says black to any other color, or a number color.

To make the spacing of lines closer: <div style="line-height: 10px;">
You can change the 10px, but I would only recommend doing this if you really want a unique quote.

This makes the letters closer: <div style="letter-spacing: -3px">
Again, I would only recommend changing the -3px if you want your spacing REALLY close or close to normal.

Here is a dotted border: <div style="border: 8px dotted pink; margin: auto; overflow: auto; width: 400px; height: 400px; background-color: white;">

You can change the size of pixels, height, and width. Where it says 8px is how thick it is. Make it bigger or smaller with 400px. The inside of it is white, and you also can change that color.

Here is a plain black border: <div style="border: 8px inset Black; margin: auto; overflow: auto; width: 400px; height: 400px; background-color: white;">
Same thing goes for this one.

And LASTLY, this website will generate fades for you, easy and fast. http://patorjk.com/text-color-fader/
Text Codes Make the Spacing of Lines Closer Together
<div style="line-height: 10px;">text goes here :)</div>

this code will squish your lines of writing together. This code also, however, will spread them out. All you need to do is add a "-" sign in front of the number in the code. You can also adjust the number to change how close or far apart the lines are.

Squish the Letters Together
<div style="letter-spacing: -3px">text goes here :) </div>

This code will squish your letters together. However, this code will also spread them out. All you have to do is take away the '-' sign in front of the '3'. You can also adjust the number to change how close or far apart the letters are.

Squish the Words Together
<p style="word-spacing:-3px;">text goes here :)</p>

This code will squish your words together. However, this code will also spread them out. All you have to do is take away the '-' sign in front of the '3'. You can also adjust the number to change how close or far apart the letters are.

Make Text Huge
<span style="font-size: 215pt; line-height: 115%">text goes here :)</div>

Use this code to make your text incredibly massive. You can change the size font you want by changing the '215' in the code to any number you want. These font sizes are very similar to the ones used on 'Microsoft Word'.

Having Many Different Fonts
<span style="font-family: Corbel; ">text goes here :)</span>

This code will give you just about any font you want! To use this code with any font, all you need to do is change where the code says 'Corbel' to the name of the font you want to use. But if you downloaded the font off the internet, the odds are good that you will be the only one who is able to see it.

Blinking Text
<p style="text-decoration:blink;">text goes here :)</p>

This code will make your text blink.

Shadowed Text
<p style="text-shadow:4px 4px 8px purple;">text goes here :)</p>

This code will give your text a shadow. You can change the color of the shadow by editing where it says 'purple' in the code to any color you want. But if your color has two words, for example, 'sky blue' you would need to squish them together so in the code they read 'skyblue'

hope this helppsss <3
