Chapter 32
Hayden's Point of View
The sweet vanilla ice cream that rolled on the tip of my tongue
was now starting to taste bitter.
Why wasn't Hunter looking at me when he asked that
question?
He didn't find someone to replace me, did he?
"No, actually. I'm not." I truthfully said, my
voice sounded cold and hoarse. "Are you?"
Hunter looked at me with shock, yet I could sense that he was
pleased through the sparkly glint in his tropical blue eyes.
Oh, how I missed those bright blue orbs.
"I'm not, either." he said, trying to hide back his
excitement.
My stomach began to feel jittery, as I poked the slush of melted
ice cream in my cup.
"Hah, I guess that's-"
Before I got to finish, Hunter was already up, and pulling on my
arm.
He dragged out of the ice cream parlor, lacing his fingers
through mine.
I blushed, as our warm skin connected.
"Hunter, where are you taking me?" I panted, as Hunter
began to run full speed.
It was hard for me to keep up, since he was an athelete.
He didn't reply to me, but I got my answer when my feet
started to sink into pools of sand.
We kicked the cold sand behind us, as Hunter pulled us further
down the beach.
Was he going to throw me-
Suddenly, I felt freezing cold water rising above my knees,
soaking my dress completely.
"H-Hunter!" I said, jaw clencing up and down from my
endless shivering.
He laughed, as he inched closer to me.
In the icy water, he wrapped his arms around my waist, taking me
by surprise.
His warm body heat warmed me up, and soon, the cold water had no
effect on me.
"Are you insane?" I asked, out faces nearly centimeters
apart.
It kind of reminded me of the first time we kissed.
I was just as nervous as I was now, and our faces were so close,
it was intimidating.
"God, I missed you so much." he whispered, brushing my
dampened hair away from my face.
My back arched from his touch, as a small smirk appeared across
his lips.
The moon lit up his features, making his skin look ivory pale,
and his eyes look so intense.
I was speechless.
I wanted to tell him how much he meant to me, but words
couldn't describe it.
"A year without kissing you... I can't take it any
longer." he muttered.
I wanted him as much as he wanted me, even more.
I wanted to feel the sensation of his lips on mine, morphing in
sync.
And that's exactly what I felt when he pressed his soft lips
upon mine.
His lips were sweet from the ice cream we just devoured, but
still minty from his freshly brushed teeth.
I leaned my body further into his, wrapping my arms around his
neck, while he had his firmly on my waist.
I felt a tingling sensation on our lips.
I knew it wasn't sparks; it was so much more than that.
We pulled away, as I felt my lip quiver.
"You do realize that we're both going to be sick after
this?" he chuckled, pressing his forehead against mine.
I laughed softly, closing my eyes, taking in the moment. "I
know, but I really don't care."
"I love you, Hayden." he suddenly said.
My body went numb from excitement, as my heart pounded against my
chest.
There was only one thing left for me to say.
"I love you too, Hunter."
The End.
I might be starting a new story sometime next week.
There won't be a sequel to this, just because I feel as if
there's nothing more to write about.
Hope you liked it :) Thanks my lovely followers for reading!

Chapter 31
Hunter's Point of View
"...oh, Hayden!" Joey finished.
I felt myself stop breathing, as my eyes slowly dragged over to
where she was.
She avoided eye contact with me, as she bit down on her lip.
I remember that Hayden used to bite on her lower lip everytime
she was nervous.
"Damn!" Joey whistled, eyeing Hayden up and down.
"You became hot!"
I glared at Joey, as Hayden gave him a weak smile.
"So, listen, Hunter, if you don't want Hayden anymore,
I'll be glad to take her." Joey smirked, placing his
cold hands on her thighs.
I saw Hayden flinch at his touch, as I immediately took
action.
I peeled his hands off her, pushing him away gently.
"Go find someone else." I told him.
Joey chuckled, sounding like a drunk idiot.
He walked off to another girl who was wearing a bikini with large
rinestones.
I took in a deep breath, turning my attention back to Hayden.
She was staring down, twisting the ends of her brown locks.
I couldn't believe I didn't recognize her.
She changed over the past year.
She became so much more beautiful and confident.
"Hayden." I whispered.
Her big, hazel eyes stared up at me, as she gave me a half smile.
"Hi, Hunter."
I chuckled, scratching the back of my neck. "You're
back."
She laughed along with me, as her eyes twinkled even in the dim
lighting. "I guess I am."
I licked my lips. "What are you doing here?"
She smiled, rolling her eyes playfully. "Why, you don't
want me here?"
During her time away, she definetely became less shy and more
outgoing.
I liked her this way, carefee and relaxed.
I knew she probably was still hurt from her dark past, but I
could tell by her smile that she was moving on from it.
"Of course I do." I said.
"In that case, I'm here to see you graduate." she
explained.
I raised an eyebrow. "You came all the way from California
just to see me?"
She smiled. "And Ruth, of course."
I smiled, and took a long minute just to study her for a
minute.
I missed her so much, and it was surreal that she was standing
just a short foot away from me.
Gosh, she became so beautiful.
"Do you want to leave? I know parties were never your
thing." I suggested.
She smiled, glad that I remembered so much about her. "If
you don't mind, I'd love to go get some ice
cream."
I grinned, lacing her fingers through mine. "I'm fine
with that."
~*~*~
"Why do you keep staring at me like that? Do I have ice
cream on my face?" Hayden asked, wiping her lips with the
back of her hand.
I shook my head, unable to keep myself from smiling at her like
an idiot.
"I'm just really glad you're back." I paused.
"How have you been this past year?"
Her smiled faded a bit, as her put her spoon down.
"After I moved, I started to see my guidence counselor at my
new school. She helped me out, a lot." she said, twirling
her half melted ice cream.
"That's good. I could tell that you've
changed." I nodded.
She smiled again, and it felt as if the whole room lighted up.
"Thanks."
I licked my lips, waiting for the question to roll out my
tongue.
"So... are you seeing someone?" I asked, not daring to
look at her.
