"How was school?"
"Good", I said honestly.
"Good" repeated Stella. "Mom, can you
please let me wear nail polish? All the girls at
schools do!"
My parents have this "no nail polish or makeup",
because they think nail polish will decay your nails and make
up will wrinkle your face.
"I bet not everyone does, sweetie, only the girls two
grades above you do. Can't you hang out with someone
else?"
"I'm going outside for awhile, 'kay?" I
wanted to avoid this argument.
~~~***~~~***~~~
I trotted down the sidewalk around the block, clicking chunks
of stone out of my way. The sky got turned gray, and so did my
mood. Already I had missed home. I missed my friends,
especially Brooke, who lived ten houses from me. We got
together well. She loved the color blue, and she adores pandas.
I have this unexplanable obsession for peace signs and
arrows.
"Is something wrong?"
I spun around, and behind me stood a guy in jeans, a hoody, and
a plaid backpack. He held a racket in his hand, and a badminton
birdie stuffed in his pocket.
"It's raining."
I realized the sky has gone even darker, and I have stopped
walking.
"So you're the new girl. School upseted you?"
"No, it was awesome." Damn. He looks hot. And he goes
to my new school, wow, is this school known for housing
attractive people?
"I'm Daniel. You should start walking home ...look at
the weather."
"You know me?"
"Everyone here grew up knowing eachother, so you think we
wouldn't notice if a stranger suddenly appeared? You really
should head home."
I suddenly noticed it's pouring.
"Yikes! My house is two blocks away!"
~~~***~~~***~~~
After a long sprint home, a hot shower, and yawning in fresh
new clothes, what I really wanted was a long nap.
"Sorry, not happening." My mom stood over me,
"Thinking about a nap? Why don't you tidy up the
house, unpack your things, and get settled?"
I stood up, only to get knocked back down on my bed by Stella
who came prancing into the room. Even though we're twins,
her hair's twice as long as long as mine, her clothes
twices as revealing as mine, her voice twice as high as mine,
and a swear her weight's half as mine.
"Mom, I'm out tomorrow night. A guy just texted
me." She informed, like it was important.
"But honey, you're barely home!"
I went to the kitchen to avoid overhearing another argument.
Better get settled, like my mom said.
"Myra! Wake up!!!
MYRA! Myra? MYRA! Comeon!!!"
Typical morning.
My little sister was tugging like crazy on my sleeve, so it was
pretty amusing when I saw her hair flying all over the place
like an insane lion.
"Carolyn, quit it!" Ihad to tell her off sooner or
later. She usually just bosses me around instead.
"Myra! Wake up!!!
MYRA! Myra? MYRA! Come here!!!" Mom yelled at me. Her
words sounded alot like Carolyn's. "I'm
cooooooooooming!"
I dashed down the stairs, jumped off the last step like a
giselle, and landed silently like a ninja, square infront of my
mom.
"What?" I questioned. Her hair was pulled back into a
pony tail, and she was busy packing. Dad must be going on
another business trip. She didn't seem to notice my
existence.
A tall, slender girl walked out of the kitchen, with identical
eyes, identical blonde hair, identical everything as me. My
older twin sister, Stella, took in my look from head to toe.
Her reaction-- she burst into a fit of giggles.
"What?" I demanded again, a little more irritated, as
I realized that I'm still in my pajamas.
"We're moving" My mom replied simply.
"What?"
"To California."
"What?"
"Pack your stuff" Mom tossed another cloth in the
already-too-full luggage.
"What?" This is unbelievable!
"Good luck, make some new friends." Stella chimed
in.
"What?"
"Hurry up and pack, we're leaving in four days.
"WHAT?"
Twas' the night
before Christmas, all through the house,
Not a creature was sturring, no, not even a mouse.
But it only seems so, all was so still,
When in a small town, a girl wants to kill.
Is it someone else, perhaps someone she hates?
No, it's herself, motivated by fate.
She's moving to California, on a town alongside the
beach,
Far from her friends she could not reach.
She misses her friends, and the guy that she loves,
But all must be left behind, so she makes a wish to the stars
above.
That one day she'll find someone, to stay with forever,
And that they'll start life, a perfect one,
together.
