"Hey!" I called out to him
with a smile.chapter 12.
"Hey Christina," he called back to me. He jumped up from him towel and started walking towards me. Then, he grabbed me up in his arms and twirled me around in a circle. Once he was done, he put me on the ground and kissed me on the cheek. Being with him made me forget about everything, especially the phone call.
"Oh boy, you don't even understand how much I missed you last night," he told me.
"Actually, I think I missed you more than you missed me," I said.
"I don't think so!" he exclaimed.
"Fine. You win," I said as I stuck my tongue out at him.
"So, watcha wanna do today?" he asked me.
"Ehh, I don't feel like swimming. How about we go site seeing around the island? Come on it will be fun.. Just the two of us!" I told him.
"Anything your heart desires, my love," he made a gallant motion with his arms.
"The only thing my heart desires is you," I informed him. He took a step towards me and gave me a passionate kiss on the lips that left me dizzy.
"I don't think you should give me those kisses anymore," I told him.
"Why?" he asked completely confused.
"Since they leave me all weak in the knees and wanting more," I replied.
"Oh. You mean these kisses?" he said as he grabbed me and kissed me again.
"Yeah, th-those ones," I could barely talk. My heart was beating feverishly in my chest. We walked toward the street near the beach where he parked his car. I got in the front seat, since it was hard driving on the narrow roads here in Portugal. It was while he was driving, when I noticed something was off. I studied him more carely and found a bruise near his collar bone. He must've noticed since he fixed his shirt.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"What do you mean what's wrong?" he answered my question with another question.
“What’s that mark near you collar bone?” I questioned with clear worry.
“Oh, that? It's nothing. My little brother hit me. He wanted something and I didn't give it to him so he got all mad. Such a spoiled brat," Henrique said. I didn't question it further and his body released the tension that I hadn't quite noticed earlier.
"So where are we going?" I asked him with a smile.
"It's one of my most favorite places on the island, but it's a surprise so I'm not going to tell you," he said. I turned on the radio and blasted it as far as it could go, wondering where our next adventure would be.

Henrique looked up and without one word spoken to me, he jumped up and ran into the ocean.
"Where are you going?!" I asked worriedly.
He didn't respond. Instead, he used his strong arms to propel him closer to the boy in the ocean. Eventually, he reached the small boy, who couldn't have been more than three years old, and brought him to shore. The mother of the boy ran up to her baby and couldn't stop giving him kisses and hugs. When she finished with that, she turned toward Henrique and kept telling him how grateful she was. He just shrugged it off and came walking towards me.
"Wow. I can't believe you just did that," I told him with disbelief.
"Did what?" he asked confused.
"You saved that boy!" I answered.
"Oh. Well, when I was little my mom was looking so I decided to go swimming. Once I got in, the current kept pulling me father and father away from the shore. I almost drowned until the lifeguard was able to get me out. I went to the hospital and they told me that something happened to my heart due to the excessive income of salt water," he informed me.
"Awh, I'm sorry. I'll make sure that nothing will happen to your heart ever again," I said as I turned to face him and placed my hand on his heart. He gave me a wanting and loving glance and then he gave me one long passionate kiss on the lips. I kissed him just as passionately back as we stared at each other with fire in our eyes. He pushed me back on to the sand and gently caressed my legs. I shivered with the intimate touch. Then, I kissed him on his colar bones, behind his ears, and along his cheek bone. He then kissed the part of my breast that wasn't covered by my bikini. That was when I pulled away from him and put some space between us before anything got out of hand.
"I don't think we should do this in public," I smiled at me with such pain and wanting. He was breathing heavily.
"I know. It's just that your so beautiful and I want to caress you every second I'm with you. It's not just that, I want to kiss you and hug you and love you with everything I have," he told me.
"I feel the same way. You don't think that I want to stop touching your amazing body? Never mind your abs!" I exclaimed.
He didn't answer, instead he stared at me until the longing in his eyes died down.
"I love you with all my damaged heart," he said as he grabbed my hand.

I woke up to the sound of the birds outside. It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to go to the beach. I got up, got dressed, and went downstairs to eat breakfast.
"Good morning, lover girl," Anthony greeted me.
"Oh god, did grandma tell you?" I asked.
"Actually, she didn't. I saw you and him together at the beach party last night. You guys are so gross," he informed me.
"Gee, thanks!" I shot him a look and went back upstairs.
Great, just what I needed. My brothers will be making jokes about my love life for the rest of my life. I went on Facebook and changed my relationship status to 'in a relationship' and logged off. I grabbed my sketch book and walked out the door. I was on my way down when I felt someone put their hands over my eyes.
"Guess who!" someone in a deep voice said to me.
"Hahaha, okay. Is it Henrique?" I said.
"How'd you know?!" he asked me with a wink.
"Just because you make your voice sound deeper doesn't mean I'm not going to know it isn't you," I told him with a smile.
"Well, I thought I was pretty darn convincing," he informed me. He kissed me on the cheek and then he gave me one long passionate kiss on the lips.
"I could get used to that," I told him.
"I already am," he said.
"So whatcha up too?" he asked me.
"I was just about to head down to the beach and take a dip. Wanna come?" I asked.
"Of course," he said.
I smiled at him and grabbed his hand as we walked down the hill to the beach together. Once we got there, we took off my clothes and jumped into the ice cold water. If felt so good compared to the scorching sun. After we got in, Henrique grabbed me close to him and kissed me again.
"I love you," I told him once we broke apart.
"I love you, too," he answered me.
We got out of the water and laid our towels out in the sand. I got my iPod out and he took one headphone and I took the other one. I told him he could choose and he put on a song by Eminem.
"You have Eminem?" he asked me.

"It's just I don't know many girls who listen to Eminem. Actually, your the first girl who I've met that has all of his songs." he said.
"I guess I'm not your average girl," I responded. "Plus, I like all of his songs. They speak the truth and a lot of the songs say what I feel," I told him.
"I completely understand," he answered me with a grin.
Henrique and I laid there in the sand for a while listening to all of Eminem's songs. Every once and a while he would kiss me and I caught him staring at me a few times. Everything was perfect until I heard a kid scream far away with fear out in the wavey ocean.

I almost fell asleep on Henrique's lap while I was watching the waves surface onto shore. I checked the time on my cell phone that I had in my red clutch, it said that it was 1:47 in the morning.
"Hey, Henrique?" I asked.
"Yeah?" he answered me with a kiss on the cheek.
"My grandma told me that I had to be home at two, the latest," I informed him.
"Alright. I don't want to get in trouble so I'll walk you home," he said.
"I thought you didn't follow the rules?" I questioned.
"I guess I only follow the rules that involve you," he said.
"Aww, you're so sweet," I said as I got up and hugged him. I was about to pull away from him when I got a shiver from the brisk air. Henrique must've seen me shiver since he took off his jacket and placed it on my shoulders.
"Thanks," I told him.
"No problem," he answered. He grabbed my hand and walked me home. As we arrived at my house, Henrique grabbed me around the waist and kissed me like he had on the beach earlier. I almost melted with emotion and wanting.
"I love you, Christina," he said.
"I love you, too, Henrique. With all my heart," I answered him. He kissed me again and I opened the door and walked inside. There, I found my grandma trying to look innocent as she placed the curtains back in their place to the window nearby.
"Grandma, what on earth are you doing?" I asked her.
"I was.. uh.. cleaning the cobwebs," she told me unconvincingly.
"At two in the morning?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Fine, you caught me. So you and Henrique, huh?" she said with a glint in her eyes.
"Yeah, I guess so," I said as I tried to contain my excitement.
"Don't act like you aren't completely in love with him. I've known you longer than you give me credit for." My grandma informed me.
"Oh grandma! He's amazing. When we kissed tonight, everything felt right. It was like he was my soulmate, like we belonged together," I said.
"I understand. Me and your grandfather were the exact same way. Make sure you treasure every moment together since you never know what might happen," she told me.
"I will, grandma. I will," I answered. I gave her a kiss goodnight and went upstairs and changed into pajamas. I forgot to give Henrique's jacket back to him. chapter 8.
I almost fell asleep on Henrique's lap while I was watching the waves surface onto shore. I checked the time on my cell phone that I had in my red clutch, it said that it was 1:47 in the morning.
"Hey, Henrique?" I asked.
"Yeah?" he answered me with a kiss on the cheek.
"My grandma told me that I had to be home at two, the latest," I informed him.
"Alright. I don't want to get in trouble so I'll walk you home," he said.
"I thought you didn't follow the rules?" I questioned.
"I guess I only follow the rules that involve you," he said.
"Aww, you're so sweet," I said as I got up and hugged him. I was about to pull away from him when I got a shiver from the brisk air. Henrique must've seen me shiver since he took off his jacket and placed it on my shoulders.
"Thanks," I told him.
"No problem," he answered. He grabbed my hand and walked me home. As we arrived at my house, Henrique grabbed me around the waist and kissed me like he had on the beach earlier. I almost melted with emotion and wanting.
"I love you, Christina," he said.
"I love you, too, Henrique. With all my heart," I answered him. He kissed me again and I opened the door and walked inside. There, I found my grandma trying to look innocent as she placed the curtains back in their place to the window nearby.
"Grandma, what on earth are you doing?" I asked her.
"I was.. uh.. cleaning the cobwebs," she told me unconvincingly.
"At two in the morning?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Fine, you caught me. So you and Henrique, huh?" she said with a glint in her eyes.
"Yeah, I guess so," I said as I tried to contain my excitement.
"Don't act like you aren't completely in love with him. I've known you longer than you give me credit for." My grandma informed me.
"Oh grandma! He's amazing. When we kissed tonight, everything felt right. It was like he was my soulmate, like we belonged together," I said.
"I understand. Me and your grandfather were the exact same way. Make sure you treasure every moment together since you never know what might happen," she told me.
"I will, grandma. I will," I answered. I gave her a kiss goodnight and went upstairs and changed into pajamas. I forgot to give Henrique's jacket back to him.
