If its not the right thing
DON'T DO IT
If he's not the right one
DON'T WASTE A SINGLE TEAR ON HIM
If you want to be successful
NEVER GIVE UP

They sat there wondering,
what the other              was feeling; everyone         knew they    were          in love,
accept the two of them.

walk away with a smile,
make them wonder          why the hell you're okay.

One Last Goodbye
PART THREE

Devin and Tina met in High School. Devin was new to Fall River in our junior year. He had darker skin but had what everyone claimed, ‘swag’.
He was originally from California, which is across the state from Massachusetts. His father got transported to Mass for his job.
Tina had auburn hair our junior year, and was slim and active. She cheered for our High School football team.
He played football, the star quarter back.
           Match in Heaven…right?
Until the summer. I remember it like it was yesterday. Tina called me, because it was the only day out of the whole summer that we weren’t together. We decided the night before that we both needed a break, and just planned to sleep the whole day. Boy, were we wrong.
She was screaming into the phone and I could just picture her auburn hair frizzed out and the black charcoal streaming down her face.
“Chelsea! Chelsea!” She screamed, taking some air in at times.
“What? What’s going on?” I asked.
“Devin.” She yelled, “Devin, he’s dead Chelsea…Oh God, help. He’s dead.”
The words stung like a bee ejecting poison. I don’t know how to describe it, but I guess I could sayI thought Tina was lying, or joking. It seemed like a dream, like someone was about to call out, “YOU’RE ON PRANKSTERS!” and some hidden guys with cameras would come out, filming me on National TV.
But they didn’t.
Devin had gotten into a severe car accident with 3 of his buddies that night, he was under the influence. He was the only one who died, the others extremely hurt, but lived. I’ll never forget that summer after senior year.
And then the most surprising part of all? Tina told me she was 3 months pregnant; with Devin’s kid.
