Last night,
I found out that my mom was sexually abused by her adoptive father as a child my age, 14.
Her dad died when she was 2 and he mother left her.
She was adopted by her aunt.
She was always left out and didn't fit in with her own "siblings."
When she told her "mom" about this incident, no one believed her.
She stuck around and suffered for 5 years for her own education.
If she didn't, she would have no place to live and would starve.
This one is for you, Mommy.
You've been so strong. I never would've known any of this ever happened to you.
You're a true role model and I will always love you so much.
I'm always here for you, and I'll always be your loving daughter.

Witty Ladies,
I'm going to be starting a new story involving YOU!
I'll let you all decide on the topic/plot ideas,
and just comment if you'd like to be in it! :)
be sure to let me know of ANY suggestions you have!
this is all about you guys!

this process before I write may take a few days,
but it's all for you :)

Young Love
Chapter Ten.

I didn't even realize that it was our 2 year anniversary.
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, as I smiled and looked over at him. We laid there for who knows how long, staring into each other's eyes. Then both of us must have felt something. He leaned over, hovering his head over mine, smiling. He leaned down and kissed me gently, then we both opened our eyes for a moment, and he leaned down to kiss me again. He moved over closer to me and wrapped one hand under my head, running his fingers through my hair as we kissed, and the other lingering on my thigh. He slowly rolled on top of me. He started to kiss me harder, and we shifted our bodies to get comfortable. I felt his cold hands move up my leg to my back, under my shirt, giving me chills. I felt his hand move back down and linger around the button of my jeans and the end of my shirt. I broke off our kiss for a moment and looked at him. I simply nodded my head. That's all it took.
He nodded back and lifted my shirt a little higher. I helped him take it off as he unfastened the button on my jeans with a little tug. I slightly lifted his shirt a bit, feeling the muscles in his back contract. I felt him kiss my neck, and reached under my cami and tickled my stomach, making me laugh. He brought up the ends of the cami, making it roll up. He helped me take that off, and he looked down at me again, scanning his eyes over me.
"Are you sure? I don't want, you know, if you don't feel, or uh, if---"
I lifted my lips up to his, kissing him for a while before I broke off and said, "I'm sure," as I removed my jeans.

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

Young Love
Chapter Nine.

The tow truck came after about 30 minutes, as promised. Gage and I got out of the van while the man got the van hooked up and ready to tow.
"How are you young folks doing tonight?" he asked, with a tinge of an accent.
"Just fine I suppose, considering the fact that our car just broke down," I responded.
The man nodded and said, "Don't you worry. I'll bring you both right to a motel for the night and give you a call in the morning sometime when the vehicle is all fixed up! It should be okay around 11:00."
"Well that's great! Thanks," Gage said, reaching for the handle to the door of the tow truck for me to get in, as he climbed in after me. The car ride to the motel was pretty much silent, with occasional questions from the tow truck man. The motel wasn't too far from where we broke down; it was about 11 miles away. He dropped us off at the front door and called out after us, "See you folks tomorrow!" and drove off.
"Well, here we are for now then," Gage thought aloud, reaching for my hand.
"It's kind of nice to get a break from that van and driving. We're finally walking on hard ground, and I'm not looking out a window," I lightly joked.
He laughed a bit, and we walked in to the front of motel to check into a room for the night. The concierge gave us a room after we paid with Gage's parents' credit card, and we headed off to our room, along with our complimentary toothbrush and other toiletries. I checked my phone to check the time. 7:12.
"It's not too late either. Too bad we don't have a car to go anyway..." I complained.
"Oh, stop whining," Gage joked, "it's nice just being alone," he told me as we reached our room. He took out our key card to get in and unlocked the door. I ran inside and flopped onto the bed. He ran right after me and did the same thing as we laughed together. I checked my phone again (bad habit), and he took it out of my hands and placed it on the nightstand next to me. He rolled over onto me to kiss me playfully.
"Happy 2 year anniversary, my love."

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

Young Love
Chapter Eight.

I woke up the next morning, and Gage was already driving. I looked at the clock, and it read 9:00 a.m.
"That's a pretty early wake-up time for me, don't you think?" I asked.
"Considering the fact that you usually wake up at noon, not too shabby. Someone looks adorable in her sleep... you know, when she's not snoring," Gage replied, flirtatiously.
"I DO NOT!" I said, laughing. I turned on the radio to change the subject... I've already been told I snore before. I didn't know ever I did in front of my boyfriend...
We spent the day just talking and joking around in the car with occasional stops now and then. At around 5:00, we reached the New Jersey border, tired and exhausted. As we were driving, we heard some noise coming from the car. Gage pulled over to try and figure out what happened.
"What happened!?" I asked from inside the car.
"I'm not sure what happened! It's probably nothing," he said, closing the hood and getting back in the car.
When he went to restart the car, it wouldn't start.
"What just happened..." I asked, worried.
"I'll just call triple A. I have my parents' credit card. Don't worry babe, we'll be fine."
I zoned out as he called the tow company. He looked over at me again after the phone call.
"They're on their way now. It'll be about 30 minutes before they get here. Repairs will be done overnight, and they said they can bring us to a motel around the area. We'll be fine," he reassured me.
I looked over at him after my moment of thinking.
"Do you think any of this is a mistake? Should we have done this? I-I just, I don't kn---"
He kissed me. Just like that. He just reached for my face and kissed me. After a few seconds, he pulled back and looked me in the eyes.
"None of this, Tara, has been a mistake. I have no regrets about what we're doing. We needed this. We needed to be together and away from what they've put us through. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is wrong or a mistake with you. I have nothing to be guilty about," Gage told me.
We sat in silence for a while, before I finally broke the silence and said, "Are you sure?"
"Positive. Absolutely positive."
"I don't think I would be happy anywhere else if I wasn't with you."
"Me either, Tara. Me either."

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

"I just want to spend
every possible minute
of the rest of my life with you."

Catching Fire.

Young Love
Chapter Seven.

Gage started the car, pulled out of the driveway, and just started driving.
"Do you even know where you're heading?" I asked.
"No, not really. I mean, we have the GPS set up so we at least know where we are. It's charging now too, so we'll be fine."
"Okay," I said concerned. I really needed to relax. I finally have the chance to be alone with him and do whatever. Our parents can't nag us anymore. Gage and I sat in silence for a while, simply listening to the radio for a while.
"Are you okay, Tara? You seem a little quiet," he asked me.
"I guess so. Was this the right choice for us?"
"I think so. We'll be fine. Just relax. Don't worry," Gage reassured me.

Next thing I knew, it was dark out, and I had woken up to Gage's hand on my shoulder.
"What? What time is it? Where are we?" I asked, looking around.
"Relax! It's all good! We made it through the New York border into Pennsylvania. I got tired, so I pulled into a rest stop so I could take a break. It's 10:23 pm right now. I was going to sleep, then you woke up. You can go back to sleep."
"We're really in Pennsylvania!?"
"Yes! We'll be driving a lot tomorrow so get some rest. I need it too," he suggested.
"Alright then. Wake me up in the morning when you wake up?"
"Sure, baby," he said, leaning in and kissing me.
I smiled.
"Goodnight, Gage."
"Goodnight, Tara."

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

Young Love
Chapter Six.

"Let's run away."
My heart stopped for a moment.
"What!?" I asked surprised.
"You heard me! Let's run away together! We can go on a long road trip together. We can 'live' in my van! I'm tired of this, everything, with our parents. We'll be alone together and they can't control us anymore," he explained.
Now that I think about it, it's actually not a bad idea. We wouldn't have to deal with our parents anymore, and we'd be alone together for a while. No one could control us.
"Let's do it. I can't believe we're doing this together!" I said.
"I agree, but maybe they'll realize that we're perfect together and accept us at last."
"Yes! We can only hope. How long do you think we'll be gone?"
"As long as we need to be," he said, "In fact, I want to leave. Now. Or whenever you're ready.
"Now. We should probably pack though. As soon as we pack, we can leave. The sooner the better, right?" I told him.
"Right. Let's go over to your house and you can start packing."
We both got in my car and drove over to my house. When we got there, there was no car in the driveway.
"My parents aren't home. I suppose that's a good thing though."
We both when inside, and Gage helped me pack. We weren't sure how long we'd be gone, so we packed for a lengthy amount of time. At last, we were able to fit my things into a couple suitcases.
"You should probably leave your parents a note and at least let them know that you're with me and we're leaving for a while," Gage suggested.
"Fine. I probably should."
I got a sheet of paper and hastily wrote:
Dear Mom & Dad, I'm leaving with Gage. We're going on a road trip, and we're not sure when we're getting back. Think over everything. We'll be fine. Bye.
"There. The note is finished," I announced.
We brought my things back to the car and drove over to Gage's house again. I pulled into the driveway and decided I wouldn't go in and cause more trouble. Instead, I loaded my things into the trunk of his van and got inside, waiting for him to come out of the house. About twenty-five minutes later, he came out with his two suitcases. He loaded them in the trunk along with my things and got into the van and sat in the driver's seat.
"All I said was 'I'm going on a road trip with Tara for a long time, so bye I guess."
"It's okay. We'll be alright. At least we're together," I said as I got out to GPS and set it up.
"I'm actually thrilled to do this, Tara. I really am," he told me excitedly.
I looked over at him. "So am I. I love you, Gage. I truly do."
"I love you too, Tara, more than you can imagine."

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

Young Love
Chapter Five.

"Gage?" I said quietly in his ear. "Gage! Wake up!" I shook his shoulder to get him to wake up.
"Hm?" he said groggily.
"Wake up!" I said, "I think your parents are home. I heard a door close... hard."
"Oh, okay. Uh, uhm, just come downstairs with me. Just be prepared for the little scolding session," he told me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes, it'd be better if they knew you were here," he assured me.
"Fine, I'll go with you I suppose."
We both slowly crept downstairs to see where his parents were. They were sitting down in the kitchen, drinking coffee calmly but in silence.
"Well, I need to say hi at some point." He casually walked in to the kitchen and greeted his parents while I stood awkwardly hiding on the stairs. "Hi Mom, Dad. How was the visit?"
"Oh, good. How's your visitor?" they asked.
My heart stopped. I was hoping I could've said hello more casually and this wasn't exactly working out.
"What visitor?" Gage said, trying to avoid the topic.
"You tell me. The car in the driveway...?"
Sh*t. I should've thought about that.
"Oh, that. Well, Tara's parents were having a fit last night and things weren't going over too well with her and her parents," Gage explained calmly.
"So that makes our house 100% available for her to come in?"
"Yes, actually, it does. She needed me to turn to, and I offered to help her out. I WANTED to help her. She needed me. She really did. She's my GIRLFRIEND, and I love her. I care for her, and she means the world to me."
"I'm speechless, Gage. I really am."
They all stood there in silence. I decided to come out of hiding.
"Hi, uhm, I'm sorry to cause trouble but---"
"You should be sorry," his mom spat out.
"I am and---"
"Tara, you don't need to be sorry. My mom should be," he told me then turned to his parents. "You two," he yelled, pointing to both of his parents, "accept us. It's almost been TWO YEARS. I am in love with Tara and neither of you can change that. In fact, you can't change ANYTHING. We seem to have this talk every week, and I'm sick of it!" Gage told them.
"And we're sick of your relationship," his parents harshly said.
"And we're sick of your disapproval! And I'm just sick of you both, PERIOD! Get over yourselves, or I'm getting out of here," Gage threatened.
"You wouldn't," his mom challenged.
"Oh, I would. Watch me."
And with that, he took my hand and stormed out the door.
"GAGE! Now what are we supposed to do!?"
"I think I have an idea."

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"

Young Love
Chapter Four.

I pulled into his driveway again, slammed the car door shut, and started sobbing. The door immediately opened and I ran inside, straight into his arms.
"It'll be okay, Tara."
I couldn't even respond. I just kept crying and taking breaths in short gasps. I kept heaving and letting the tears flow. He just stood there, holding me and kissing the top of my head. I tried saying something but Gage just told me "Shhh," and held me. We walked over to the couch again and layed down together. My breathing finally regulated and I was able to somewhat talk.
"Do you want to talk about it yet?" Gage asked calmly.
"Yeah, j-just give me a sec. So m-much happened and--"
I broke down crying again. After a good fifteen minutes of crying, I finally could talk.
"I came home and they were home already. I knew I was screwed before I even opened the door. T-the minute I walked in there, my mom started yelling at me."
Gage kept quiet as he listened to me talk.
"I couldn't take it anymore. I really couldn't. W-We went back and forth, and then I told her that I'd rather be with you at the moment than them and she told me to go ahead and leave," I explained.
"I'm so sorry. Are you going to go back home?" he said.
"I don't even know anymore. Home doesn't feel like home anymore," I said.
"Want to spend the night here? I don't care what happens with my parents now," Gage offered.
"You know what? Me either. Is it really okay with you if I stay here tonight?" I asked.
"Yeah! Whatever makes you happy and keeps you out of that hellhole you call home."
I laughed.
"Thanks," I said before leaning in and kissing him.
We talked for a while longer about everything, mostly complaining about our parents again. I got really tired really fast and so did Gage.
"I'm tired. Do you want to head to bed now?" he told me.
"I was just thinking the same thing," I responded.
We went upstairs and layed down together. I layed down in his arms and felt him kiss the top of my head. I looked up at him.
"Thank you for everything today. I love you," I said.
"I love you too."
We must've fallen asleep quickly, because I woke up the next morning to the sound of a door slammed shut.

"Tell me, what's the definition of love?"
