She
was born with skin like glass
affected
so easily by things that don’t last
Quick
to shatter if their eyes aren’t fixed,
breaks
to pieces when her scorn is dismissed.
She’s
as fragile as the sea is blue,
afraid
of all the things she’d lose,
If
she had to stand on her own two feet,
and
not fall back on others defeat.
Afraid
they’ll see that she’s
transparent,
that
she’s worth less than the prada she’s
wearing.
On
through the town she parades,
wearing
gucci shades to cover her face,
laughing
at everyone who’s a possible threat,
stuck
on the belief “what you see is what you
get”
So
she get’s her blowouts and spray tans,
cause
all she can do is look better than they can,
She’s
as shallow as a breath taken in too fast,
but
she can’t help it,
she
was born with skin like glass.
