Quotes by iLoveHimForeverAndAlways

Today in the lunch line, I walked up to you. I talked to you, but all you did for me was nod and shake your head. The thing that hurt the most? You talked to everyone else. And as I stood there with you in front of me, I held back the tears long enough to get where you couldn't see me. I didn't want you to think I was a cry baby.
And I smell his cologne on my hoodie. makes me miss him that much more.
It's like your punishing me for loving you.

chapter 17 / / /

Zachariah looked at me nervously. I turned from him and walked over to his bed and sat down. He made a face, as if he had only imagined something that was now happening.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. It’s just, I’ve imagined you sitting there and I didn’t think it would ever come true.” Okay, I just freaked myself out.

“Oh.”
“Yeah.” He walked a little closer and stopped at the foot of the bed. I reached forward and pulled him down beside me. We had been sitting there for a few minutes, when he grabbed my hand, which was lying between us. He turned his head to look at me, a smile playing around the corner of his lips.
“What?”
“It’s nothing.” Before I could stop myself, I leaned forward. Our faces were an inch apart, and getting closer. I was just about to rest my lips against his when he sighed and pushed me away.
“What is it? What’d I do? Did I do something wrong?”
“Dasha, you can’t just do that. I’m a vampire. You have no idea how easy it would be for me to lose control and kill you.” He got up, letting go of my hand as he did so, and walked across the room. He sat down in a chair next to a bookcase. He looked at me.
I looked at him. He was freaking out. If he couldn’t control himself for something as simple as that, then I couldn’t trust him. I knew if I couldn’t get a simple kiss, then I couldn’t get anything more. I got up from my position on the bed and started towards the stairs.
“Where are you going?”
“The Bathroom. Don’t worry about it.” I walked up the steps, but instead of going to the bathroom, I continued on past the kitchen, out the front door, and down the steps.

Zachariah’s Point of View
I waited for Dasha to come back for twenty minutes, when the door opened.
“There you are. I was beginning to worry...” My words were cut off at the realization that it wasn’t Dasha. Instead, it was Kirsten.
“Where’s Dasha?”
“That’s what I was coming to tell you. I just saw her. She left. I don’t know where she is, all I know is that she was walking down the road, when some guy stopped and picked her up.”
“What guy? What’d he look like?”
“I don’t know. He was human though.”
“Is she okay?” Kirsten suddenly got a faraway look in her eyes.
“He’s taking her somewhere. An old apartment building. It’s really run down.” She spoke through the vision. “He’s pulling her out of the car. There are others.” She suddenly came back, and her eyes shifted to me. “You have to save her Zachariah. Before it happens. They are going to force her into... and then kill her.” I didn’t need her to say the words to know what they wanted. I ran up the stairs at vampire speed with Kirsten trailing behind me.

*Whispers in the Dark*

chapter 16 / / /

It took us an hour to get to his house in his car, which he had left sitting in front of my house. When we finally pulled into the driveway, I was shocked. This house was nothing like I’d thought it’d be. The windows, which were very small, were covered by curtains. The house itself was small. I guess you don’t need much for a family of four. My mom is wasting money. Four people live in our house, it’s not necessary to have 7 bedrooms.
I got out of the car, and met him at the foot of the porch steps. He grabbed my hand and started up. He realized I wasn’t moving, so he turned and looked at me.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“It’s okay. They’re older. They have more experience. If I can refrain from killing anyone, you know they can.” He smiled, reassuring me. I nodded and let him pull me into the house.
The house smelled of pizza. Zachariah pulled me into the kitchen where Kirsten was standing with who I assumed was Maksim and Ilona. They too had pale colored eyes, which I’m guessing were just a weakened color of the color they had when they were human.
“This is Dasha.”
“Hi, Dasha. I’m Maksim. This is Ilona.” She gave me a sweet smile, but said nothing. Neither approached me. Kirsten bounded forward, enveloping me in a hug. I staggered back and the only thing keeping me up was Zachariah’s hold on my hand.
“Kirsten.” Zachariah hissed. “Be careful. She’s not made of stone.”
“Right. I’m sorry, Dasha.” She stepped back, but held me at arm’s length.        My stomach growled again, and that reminded everyone of what they were doing.
“I hope you like pizza.” Maksim said. “That’s pretty much all these two will eat.” He didn’t mention the blood, but I was guessing he did that so not to frighten me. But hey! My boyfriend’s a vampire. It’s something I would just have to get used to.
“That’s fine, thank you.”
“It won’t be done for a while.” Ilona spoke up. “Give her a tour of the house Zach.” He nodded and started pulling me through the rooms. I yawned.
“You must be tired.”
“No. I’m fine.” He led me to a door off at the end of the hall way. He opened it and pulled me down a flight of steps. The room was dark, and I tripped a few times, but Zachariah kept me standing.
He left me for a second to turn on a few sconce lamps. The walls were painted black; the floors were red plush carpet. Against one wall stood a giant entertainment stand with a giant television. There were several hundred movies there. Against the other wall was a huge bad. The covers were black with red stripes.
“Yeah. This is my room.”

chapter 15 / / /

“I’ve been thinking a lot about this a lot. I think It’d be good for us.” He said.
“Why me? You could have any girl in the school. Why did you pick me?”
“I don’t know. You know what I am. I can’t have the whole school knowing. Besides, I do care about you.”
“Oh.” Was all I could say.

“I mean, if you don’t want to-“
“Would you shut up?! I never said I didn’t.” He looked confused. Then smiled.
“Is that a yes?”
“Obviously.” His smile grew wider. Zachariah grabbed me around the waist and pulled me close to him. We sat like that for a good few minutes, until my stomach growled.
“You’re hungry. Sorry, I usually don’t eat solid food.”
“Usually?”
“I’m still part human. I have to eat human food too.”
“Come on. We can get something to eat, and you can meet my parents.”
“What?”
“They’ll love you! Come on. It’ll be fine, I promise.” Zachariah grabbed my hand and pulled me effortlessly from the ground. Once again, I found myself hanging from his back, running through the forest. I didn’t know what I had just gotten myself into, but as long as I was with Zachariah, I knew it wouldn’t be so bad. He wouldn’t let anything hurt me.

A/N thanks to jayciecutie for the awesome format. my computer messed it up when I was transferring the words to the format.

Whispers in the Dark
Chapter 14
Zachariah’s Point of View
A few weeks later

“So, what does this mean?” Kirsten was sitting on top of the coffee table, blocking my view of the basketball game I was watching.
“What does what mean?”
“You know! You and Dasha. Are you together or not? I mean, you’ve been spending every day together since you told her.”
“Yeah. So? That doesn’t mean anything.”
“Zachariah, I know you like her, and I know she likes you. You two are going to be together! I’ve seen it! I know! Just be with her.” Once again, Kirsten walked away before I could answer. She was right about two things, though. One: I did like Dasha and Two: we had been spending a lot of time together.
I was going to eventually be with her, I just didn’t know the right time to make it official. I jumped up, and grabbed my keys, then sprinted to the garage. I was going to tell her how I felt.

Dasha’s Point of View
It’s Saturday. I’m home alone. Mom and dad took Landon out for breakfast. He’s officially ungrounded and hasn’t been out of the house in 1 month except for school. I was lying on the couch, watching Ed, Edd, n’ Eddy when someone knocked on the door.
I got up, putting my half eaten bowl of dry Lucky Charms on the end table. I opened the door and Zachariah was there.
“I’m not bothering you am I?”
“No. What’s up?”
“I was wondering if you’d like to take a walk with me.”
“You hate walking.”
“Well, it’s my kind of walk.”
“Sure.” He grabbed me by one arm and threw me onto his back. Then he began to run. Everything blurred by so fast, and I thought for sure that we’d hit something, but in no time he sat me on the ground in this little clearing. A small stream bubbled in the far corner. He walked over to it and sat down. I followed close behind him. I didn’t have any shoes on, so I put my feet in the water.

“You know, I’m sure parent’s think something is going on.”
“What do you mean?”
“With us.”
“Why would they think that?”
“I pick you up for school every morning, and drive you home from practice every day. I just think it’d be a good idea, if you introduced us. I mean, they’d want to know your boyfriend wouldn’t they?”
“But, you aren’t my boyfriend.”
“Doesn’t mean I don’t want to be. That’s actually what I needed to talk to you about.

Whispers in the Dark
Chapter 13
Dasha’s Point of View
I woke up the next morning. I got ready for school, and then sleepily, I went downstairs. It was one of those days. My mom sat a bowl of bran flakes in front of me and I groaned.
“Landon! Wake up! You’re going to be late for school!” I raised my head.
“He’s home?”
“Yes. Finally.”
“Where’s he been the last few days?”
“He went to a friend’s house is all I know.”
“I haven’t seen him here or at school. I don’t think he’s been there.” My mom looked at me and we looked up as Landon came around the corner.
“Mornin’” He yawned.
“Landon James! Have you been going to school?” He gave me an accusing look and was about to answer when the doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it!” I jumped up and ran to the door. Zachariah was on the other side when I pulled it open.
“Sorry to interrupt.”
“No, that’s fine.”
“You are grounded mister. For a week!” I looked over my shoulder then back to Zachariah who was standing there patiently.
“So, do you want a ride to school?”
“That’d be nice. Thank you.”
“Just because that b-“
“We better go. Like, right now.” Zachariah turned and walked to his jeep. I followed behind him, and climbed through the door which he was holding open for me.

“Thanks for the ride.”
“No problem. It’s easier to keep an eye on you if you’re with me. Plus, I don’t like walking. It’s slow. Then again, I don’t like driving either, it’s not exactly fast enough, but it’s better than walking.”
“Keep an eye on me?”

“You’re too precious to lose.” I smiled.

Whispers in the Dark
Chapter 12
After taking me out to eat, Zachariah drove me home. He walked me to the door, and then without a word, he left. I walked up to my room and fell into bed, fully dressed. I dreamt that night. I dreamt about Zachariah. And the life I could have if we continued to hang out.
Zachariah’s Point of View
“You told her didn’t you?” Kirsten was perched on my bed when I came out of the bathroom.
“You know this how?”
“The vision changed.”
“What now?”
“Be safe bro. Be safe.”
“What are you mumbling about this time?” She didn’t answer, because she had already left my room, closing the door softly behind her. I can never understand her.

Kirsten’s Point of View
The vision hit me like a rock, for the third time. One minute I was cleaning my room, and the next I was watching my brother’s future. They’re running through the forest. Zachariah and Dasha. They seem to be chasing something. I get a close up of Dasha. Her once dark brown eyes are now a pale green. They are ringed in black. The mountain lion jumps out at her, and she takes it down, her mouth tight against its jugular. Zachariah stands behind her, off to the side. She stands, and returns to his side. He wipes the blood off of her mouth, and then kisses her.
