Holding On.
.♥chapter 5.
* One month earlier.*
"Well, this is our
city home." Declan's mom said, well, I
refer to her as Jackie, and his dad David.
"It's absolutely stunning." I said
practically speechless while walking in the large
foyer. The walls were a royal blue, and the
hallway lead to a large living space with
matching black and white couches. The t.v was
gigantic, and in High definition. I was
jealous.
"Mom, you don't need to show it off.
She's not staying here just to see our
vacation home." Declan laughed.
"No no, it's fine. I don't think of
it as showing off, I think of it as impressing
their favorite person." I winked.
He smiled at me.
"Alright, well it's been a long drive
and we don't want to be cranky tomorrow so
don't stay up too late. Declan, show Noel to
the guest room."
"My pleasure." He grabbed my suitcase
and started walking up the staircase.
"This is truly amazing. How do you afford
this?" I asked trying not to be rude.
"My dad's boss let us keep it. We barely
have to pay anything. Well, here is the
room."
I was through the doorway into a simply, but
nicely decorated room. Everything was spotless.
There was a magnificant view of times square. I
loved the way there was a rainbow of lights
outside the room.
"I am in love with New York City."
I said mezmorized while looking out the
window.
"It gets better." He turned me around
and looked into my eyes. "Tomorrow, the real
adventure begins."
Before I could answer his eyes lit up as he
smiled and turned the other direction. He stopped
infront of the doorway.
"Goodnight, miss." He said like a
proper man.
"Goodnight." I smirked and then looked
down at the paper.
The next morning the was shining through the
window. There was already the sound of car horns,
and it was only around 8.
I heard a knock on the door.
I quickly sat up, fixed my hair as quick as
possible and wiped my eyes.
"Come in!" I said.
"Are you ready?" Declan came
through.
"Ready... ready for what?"
"Get dressed and come downstairs. My parents
made breakfast before they left for the day. Then
we're leaving."
"But I.."
"Hurry there's no time to
waste!"
"We have 30 days, Declan."
"And we'll only have 29 if you don't
get your butt out of bed." He laughed at me
and walked down the hallway.
I quickly jumped out of bed, grabbed one of my
already made outfits from my suitcase, put on the
usual mascara and a little eyeliner, combed my
golden hair, and walked downstairs.
"Wow. It smells really good." I said
walking towards the kitchen.
I walked into the doorway and saw Declan siting
at one end of the table that was covered in
various fruits, bacon and pancakes.
"Enjoy." He smiled.
"Oh, I will."
I grabbed 3 small pancakes, a bowl of
strawberries and blueberries to put on top, and
some syrup.
When I was done eating he quickly put our plates
into the sink and grabbed my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see!"
It was a beautiful day out.
The sun was reflecting just right off of the tall
buildings.
We walked for quite a few blocks until a saw a
park.
"A park, in a city?" I asked.
"Yes, but you'll love it. I have a
secret place I always came as a kid. I'll
show you."
He put his hand over my eyes and guided me to a
shaded area. When I opened, I realized we were
under a giant weeping willow tree. The tree was
carved with millions of names and hearts around
them.
I slowly moved my eyes to look at Declan, but he
was already looking at me. Smiling.
