I’m not afraid.
Chapter 3
Right after I changed into a plain white
shirt and gray sweats, I heard someone knock on my window.
Frantically, I pulled up the blinds and saw Trent smiling through
the glass. I opened up the window, and helped him climb through.
He made it through fine, which wasn’t a surprise
considering he’s about 100 pounds and a stick. “Oh
hey there, Derek.” Trent said, sitting criss cross on my
bed. “Hello Trent.” I smiled big, because I
couldn’t hold it back. He smiled, too. He had a perfect
smile. Probably because he had braces for 4 years, and still
wears his retainer every night. I sat down next to him, and
looked up at the ceiling. “So, what are we gonna do?”
Trent asked, playing with my covers. “Up to you.” I
moved my head to look at him. He was thinking. “Come
here.” Trent opened his arms like he was going to give me a
hug. I slowly crawled over to him, and he pulled me in his lap. I
was shocked. He turned me so I was facing him, my face close to
his. “I’ve been wanting to do this all day.” I
felt his warm hands gently lay on my cheeks. My eyes closed, and
our lips met once again. Only this time it was longer, and we
were alone. My door was locked and my mom had left for the store
shortly after I went to my room. “I missed you so
much.” Trent mumbled against my lips. I gently bit his
bottom lip, and replied, “I did, too.” It felt like I
had no control over what was going on. Slowly, he pulled away.
“I.. I want you to be my boyfriend.” He was playing
with my shirt. “Boyfriend?” I repeated, my eyes fixed
on his. “Yes. What do you say?” He bit his lip.
“Yeah..yeah.” I nodded, smiling. “I’ve
liked you for a while now..” I said. He narrowed his eyes.
“How long, baby?” “Pretty long.” I said,
biting my lip as well. “Well…,” He said,
pulling me close to him. “You’re mine now, and
I’m yours.” I pressed my head against his chest,
listening to his heartbeat. As I started to close my eyes, I
gently felt his lips press down on my head. With that, I heard
him mumble the best four words I’ve ever heard him speak.
“I love you, Derek.”
