You know 'the feeling'?
The butterflies that fill and
flutter in your stomach?
The huge, uncontrollable smile you do and can’t help to
stop?
Better yet, to the point where you can’t even say
a single word because of it?
The silly giddiness that takes over?
The exciting feeling plus being overjoyed?
Yeah, THAT
feeling.

““Vincent, DON’T!” I
yelped as I threw myself towards Rhett with all the strength I
had. I slammed heavily against him and we both fell clumsily to
the grass. I bumped my head hard against his shoulder and I
looked up dazed to see him looking up at me, his eyes fiery and
angry. I understood where he was coming from, he wanted to fight
his own battles. He wanted to defend the girl, be the hero. But
he didn’t know that he would be losing this one without
me.
I was on top of him one minute and on the grass beside him in the
next. I opened my eyes to see Rhett spring up from the ground and
sock Vincent square in the jaw. Vincent’s head snapped
backwards but he was quick to return a punch across Rhett’s
cheek. Rhett’s body swayed to the left from the force of
the blow, but he returned fire as soon as he was hit. With every
muscle in his body, Rhett slammed his hands against
Vincent’s two, broad shoulders and tackled him. Rhett had
one hand on Vincent’s neck and the other slamming across
his face.
For a while, it really did look like Rhett was winning. Vincent
couldn’t keep up with the speed of Rhett’s hands.
But that’s when I saw Vincent’s hand digging around
in his pocket.
Out he pulled a shiny, recently sharpened knife.
“What are you doing, Vincent?” I asked as I
cautiously walked into the kitchen where Vincent was stationed,
pushing a knife back and forth on some sort of metal
stick.
“Well, moron, I’m sharpening my knife,”
Vincent grumbled as he violently shoved the knife back and
forth.
“Why?” I asked, watching and keeping myself a
safe distance away.
Suddenly, he stopped. He got up and took one step towards me.
“Because, Macey dear,” He looked up at me and gave me
a sly smile. I looked at him with wary eyes. “You never
know when you’re gonna need a good knife!” He laughed
as he jumped a step forward, his knife pointed directly at me. I
gasped as I stepped backwards, holding my chest as though my
heart would fall out of my body, it was beating so hard.
“Did I scare you, Macey?” Vincent’s smile
got creepier as he tilted his head towards me. Shivers ran up and
down my spine.
I directed my attention back to reality and caught my breath as I
realized just what was going to happen next.
At the incredible speed of light, every memory I ever had with
Luke flashed before my eyes. The last one, the one of his limp
body on my bedroom floor, stayed a minute too long before that
too, left my brain.
Getting myself up as fast as I possibly could, I ran towards
where Rhett was on top of Vincent. I saw him clasping his fingers
around the knife handle, preparing to strike. Realizing how
little time I had, I lunged toward them, arms outstretched,
praying that I’d reach Vincent’s ready hand.
My vision was beginning to become too blurry to see, but I felt
my hand slam against Vincent’s, dragging it downwards.
But I also heard a deafening scream.
I'm thinking
one more chapter?(:
For those of you who are confused, the slanted writing means she
is having a flashback.
I love you so so SO MUCH.
