chapter 6

Aimee's POV

"Not to put a damper on things… but I think you're dead." I said to Aimee.
"No! No, I can't be!" She was in denial.
Why else would everyone be ignoring her? She wasn't that popular but she was definitely not a loser. In fact, I had never really noticed how beautiful she was until that day.
"I CAN'T BE DEAD. I JUST CAN'T." She was panicking.
"Aimee try to relax. Freaking out isn't going to change anything." I tried to soothe her. It didn't work.
"Calm? You want me to be calm? ADAM SOME THING WIERD IS GOING ON, BUT I AM NOT DEAD." She is so stubborn. It was really adorable.
Sh*t, Adam stop it. You can't fall in love with a dead girl.
"Do you believe in God?" I asked her curiously.
"Of course." She said it like everyone attended Church weekly. I guess I shouldn't tell her I'm Atheist.
"Well maybe you should try talking to God. You know, ask him what the deal is."
She rolled her eyes at me. "You want me to pray?"
"Sure." I suggested.
"Fine." Aimee kneeled onto the ground and closed her eyes.
She made the sign of the cross and sat silently, looking like she was thinking to herself.
After a few minutes she stood up and looked at me.
"Did he answer?" I asked.
"It doesn't really work that way." She said.
"So now what do we do?" I asked.
"We wait. It's the only thing we can do. You don't have to stay, though." She answered.
"No. I mean, I'd like to stay if you don't mind." I stuttered.
"I'd love you to stay. I have no else to talk to." She smiled.
"Really?" My face lit up, why was I so excited? Did I forget all the feelings I had in the morning? How did one girl make me feel wanted when I felt unloved for the past five years of my life. I thought my life was a living hell, so why did she make it feel like heaven on earth?
She smiled and nodded.
"Well I'm getting a little hungry. I'll go get some food and come back. What do you want?" I asked her.
"I'm not hungry." She said.
"Oh right. That's probably a death thing." I said nonchalantly.
"I'M NOT DEAD." She tried to hit me, but once a girl, always a girl.

aimee's pov

"Oh right. That's probably a death thing." Adam said.
A death thing? How did he already get used to the fact that I'm possibly dead.
I can't be dead. I just… can't.
Oh, who am I kidding? What else  could it be? Invisible spray?
I am dead.
I will never adjust to that statement.
Adam had left to go get himself food so i sat on the football field in the back of the school and waited for him.
A few minutes later I heard foot steps and then Adam appeared.
"Hey!" I couldn't help but smile when he showed up with three happy meals.
"Hi." He said while shoveling a mouth load of fries.
"Looks like you got your hands full." I said.
He just nodded back and sat next to me.
"Should I try to eat?" I was staring at the food.
"I would say yes, but there isn't enough food to share." Adam looked dead serious.
"Are you kidding?" I laughed, "there's enough food for a family of eight!"
"No. This is all for me." His face wasn't budging so I just accepted the fact I wasn't getting a fry.
"Okay, then. I'll just starve to death." I joked.
"Aimee, you're already dead." My smile faded and my heart sunk, because when Adam said that, it finally hit me.
I really am dead.

yep aimee's dead

chapter 5

Aimee's POV

"This is so messed up," I told Adam, as we walked out of the school together. "I think it’s a mistake... I'm obviously here..."
He looked around and licked his lips. "I don't know. I mean the dirt road thing seems a bit crazy; you might've just been hallucinating. Do you feel okay? Are you high?" he looked at me with a confused expression.
"NO! And I feel fine!" i shouted, "ugh."
"Maybe you should try talking to the school board and let them know it's a big mistake."
"That's the problem. I tried talking to my teachers, and my friends... it's like know one could see me or hear me. You're the only one who I've talked to all day. I tried talking to practically everyone but no one even acknowledges me. It the weirdest thing!" I laughed at how silly I sounded. It was ridiculous. Maybe I was just dreaming.
"Are you sure about that? Here, wait. " He scanned his eyes around the front lawn of the school. "Try talking to Kaylee; she's over there."
I went up to Kaylee, and tapped her on the shoulder. She didn't even flinch. "Kaylee?" I questioned. "Kaylee? hello?" I said a bit louder this time. I turned back to Adam who was watching from the steps. I shrugged. I made my way back to him. "This is so weird." I sighed.
I looked over at Adam who looked engrossed in his thoughts.
"Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this."

"Okay."
"Wait," He said, looking out in the distance.
"What?"

"Try walking out of the school grounds... see if you go back to the dirt road..."

"Fine." I said, as i got up, once again heading toward the end of the pathway leading to the school. Just like I expected as I took the last step off the sidewalk, the dirt road appeared.
"It was there. The dirt road, Just like before. This is so creepy!" I said as i headed back to Adam who was once again waiting on the steps. I was getting frustrated. I wanted to get to the bottom of this. Adam sighed, and looked around. "Wait, one last thing, Adam. I don't want to keep you here too long. I bet your parents are worried you're not home."
"No, trust me i wasn't even planning on going home." He muttered, looking uncomfortable.
"Oh, do you have plans with your friends? You should go, I'll catch up with you later." I said.
"I don't have friends.." He whispered under his breath.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh, uh, nothing. I mean, so, uh what's your last idea?" He said.
"Pinch me."

"What?" He asked, confused.
"Pinch me! Like they do in movies to see if you're dreaming!"

"Oh, okay," He said as he moved his finger to my arm to pinch me. "Feel it?"

"No..."

uh oh :o are you guys liking it? leave a comment and let me know!

chapter 4

adam's pov

I took one last look at my house before I walked to school. I wasn't upset about what I was going to do, I was actually relieved. I couldn't stand being here any more. I thought about writing my parents letters, a quick goodbye, but figured they wouldn't care anyway.
The school day seemed to drag on longer than usual. I just wanted the last bell to ring so I could leave before I have any regrets. Not that there was anything that could change my mind.
I was wearing a T-shirt because it was getting close to summer. The scars on my arms from years of cutting were exposed. This was the first day I ever let them show in public. As I walked through the grueling halls of high school, no one smiled at me or even questioned the several cuts along my arm. Just another reason why I needed to leave. High School sucked.
I was in the english hallway, heading towards my last class when I did a double take. I could've swore I  saw Aimee Reynolds walk by. Wasn't she dead? There were a bunch of announcements about it earlier and an optional ceremony during lunch. I didn't go because I never really talked to her. I wonder if people would show up to my ceremony, if they even had one.
Probably not.
Aimee walked by again. Or at least a girl who looked like her. She looked lost. Almost panicked.
"Aimee? Is that you?"
Her head whipped towards my direction.
"You..you can see me?" She stood staring at me.
"Yes. But, uhm, not to be rude or anything… aren't you supposed to be dead?"
"No. Well, yes. Actually, I don't know." She confessed.
"You don't know if you're dead or not?" I asked her.
She was standing next to me but people who passed gave me a look like I was talking to the wall.
"I don't know what happened! I woke up in this strange room then there was this weird path and then BAM the school was right in front of me. I walked in and no one noticed me. It was like I was invisible." She babbled on and on.
"I know how that feels." I whispered.
"What?" She said.
"Nothing."
Aimee started to walk away and I chased after her.
"Wait! Where are you going?" I asked.
"To find out if I'm dead." She stated.
"Can I come?" I don't know what it was about this whole thing.. it intrigued me. I guess it was pretty cool I could potentially be talking to a dead person.

every one meet adam! thank you guys for the faves and comments each one means alot! <3

chapter 3

I walked down the road for what seemed like hours. As i kept walked, nothing appeared on the horizon beside the ever lasting dirt road. I was beyond confused. I had never seen that sort of terrain near where I lived- especially because I lived in the suburbs. My body still felt light as i walked in an almost hypnotic pattern; left, right, left, right...
-------
Just as I was about to take a short break, having no idea where i was going, a building appeared about a quarter of a mile away. I decided to walk towards it to see what it was. I got closer, and realized the building was very familiar. It was my school. Only, it wasn't on the corner of Cedar street, in-between the fire house, and the bakery. It just appeared in this deserted land. The grass formed a rectangle, and the school sat on top. All my classmates were mingling outside of school. The clock on top of the school read 7:15 am which was weird, since the sun looked like it was well up in the sky, at the position it would be at noon. As i stepped onto the grass from the dirt road, the sun suddenly bounced back, closer to the horizon; where it would be if it was 7:15 am. I could hear all the kids chatter; and followed them all inside as the bell rang and they shuffled to get to class. Like a normal day, i made my way to math. I arrived in class late, and as i walked in, not a head turned. Even the teacher didn't notice me coming in late. Ms.Roberts is usually the toughest when it comes to tardiness. My seat was taken, so i sat down in the back.
"Once you take the square root of 49, you'll have your answer. Any questions?"
Ms.Roberts voice echoed through the silent room. Math was boring, and I was so confused. I raised my hand to ask a question.
Ms.Roberts answered about 5 questions. My hand was getting tired from being raised so long. Why wasn't she answering my question?
"No more questions?" She asked, in her high pitched voice.
"Uhm, Ms.Roberts?" I asked, waving my hand back and forth to get her attention.
"Ok, lets continue with the lesson."
"Whatever," I mumbled. The lady was probably deaf anyway.
The bell rang, and we all stood up to say the pledge.
"Now its time for the morning announcements" The voice barked out through the speaker.
"Today we have a very important meeting for all staff members after school. Please see the flyers posted in front of the main office. As most of you may know,  we've lost a student, classmate, and wonderful friend to everyone in Cedar Road High. It is so unfortunate, and we send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Aimee Reynolds."
What the hell…
Thats me. I'm Aimee Reynolds! AND I AM NOT DEAD.
"WHAT!" I shouted. My face went pale and i started hyperventilating.
"Im not dead! Im right here!" I yelled, as loud as I could.
No one looked back at me.
"This is a huge mistake."

the plot will start to pick up i promise! the next chapter is one of my favorites :)!

chapter 2

I didn't have anything with me. Not even my phone, which was odd, my phone was practically a part of my body. I never went anywhere with out it.
I was wearing my favorite party dress, a cute necklace I got for Christmas, and an old charm bracelet.
As I reached for the front door my hands where shaking. I wasn't really sure what to expect, and I don't do to well with surprises.
Ask anyone who knows me, especially people who went to my thirteenth birthday. My best friend, Kristen, planned a surprise party at her house. She invited me to sleepover and watch a movie so I put on sweatpants with no make-up and walked to her house. When I opened her front door 30 people jumped out from under tables, behind couches and inside closets. "SURPRISE!" They screamed. I didn't even get a chance to say anything before I fell to the floor.
"Aimee? Aimee! Aimee are you okay?" I was a little woozy. I couldn't tell who was talking to me.
"Yeah. Just…surprised." I replied.
Well that's kind of the point, silly." Yep. It was Kristen.
Ever since then, surprises just weren't my cup of tea. That's why when I grabbed the door knob and began to twist it I tried to prepare for some creepy rapist to pop out at me. Click. It was open. I wanted to close my eyes but I figured that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
The door squeaked as I opened it, as if it were old.
Phew. There was nothing there. It looked just like my house, even the grocery list posted on the fridge was unchanged. I still couldn't figure out why my room was emptied. Was there a party last night? Was I drunk? Who knows.
I walked out the door and I was definitely not on my street. All I saw was an everlasting dirt road. I guessed that's where I was headed.

okay the first few chapters are pretty boring but it gets so good i promise! ah im so excited i just want to post the whole thing. Thanks for reading<3

chapter 1

I woke up with a strange tingling feeling. I rubbed my eyes a few times until they slowly opened. I couldn't see anything around me until I blinked my eyes a million times. I was laying face up to the ceiling. After a few seconds of extreme confusion- even worse than the kind that comes along after you wake up in the morning-- i began to slowly tilt my head up and look at my surroundings. Where was I? What was I doing on the floor?
It took me a few minutes to realize it was my own bedroom. The posters of my favorite pop stars, picture of my friends and all my trophies from thousands of track meets were gone. So was my desk, and all of my clothes. I pulled myself to sit up, and my body felt as light as a feather. Did I pass out? I didn't feel sick or nauseous.
A clock with blinking red numbers read 8:35am on a table beside me. It was obviously morning. Finally, i got myself to stand up. I was hit with an extreme dizziness before i could catch my balance, but i used a stack of boxes beside me to help me stay on my feet. Once again, i scanned my eyes around what I thought was my room. The curtains were closed, keeping out the bright sunlight. The room smelled musty and dirty, as if no one had even laid foot in it for a year. The door was cracked slightly open, with a sliver of light illuminating a corner of the room. Making my way towards the door was the hardest part. Even though it was only a few feet away, I kept tripping over things like I hadn't ever used my feet before. I walked down the hallway of my house, but something was off. All of the my families personal items were gone, even the molding where I marked my height every year had been painted over. For a second I considered that I had just woken up from a coma and my family just left me here. Pft, that sounded so stupid. Then, I was afraid i lost my memory. I still knew my name, my age, my phone number-- it was all still there in my brain. So, if I hadn't changed, what happened to the world around me?

Yes, it's over!
It's been a long bumpy ride but I'd like to thank every single person who read and supported my first story on witty. I love hearing from every one of you and I can't wait to do it all again with my next story!

part twenty seven

A few days later we were back in school. We survived that crazy field trip and in a week, we could say we survived another year of high school. Looking back, I really can't believe all the things I went through this year. I experienced some of the happiest and most heart breaking days ever in my life. My dream boy fell just as much in love with me, as I was in love with him. My enemy, who later became one of my best friends, tried to ruin my relationship and make Brandon cheat/break up with me. My friends proved they really are my friends and they always will be.
At the beginning of this year I felt invisible. I thought no one noticed me, cared about me, wanted me, or was even jealous of me. I thought that when I walked through the halls I would never change some one's life like so many people had changed mine.
Yes, at one time in my life I felt invisible. But now, with the help of a few good friends, I'm only invisible to those who can't except that this is me, Taylor, and that's all I am: A teenage girl with big dreams who won't stop until she achieves them.

THE END.

~INVISIBLE~

part twenty six

I have to admit, I was a little nervous walking up to a kid who thought he could get with me by being mysterious and stupid. I was thinking about what to say but Brandon just spit it out for me. "Hey, you. Yeah you, Owen. I know what you're up to, and I'm just warning you. Stay away from MY girlfriend. You understand?"

Owen was a little shocked. "Uhm..uh...um...who?"

"MY GIRLFRIEND. TAYLOR. Dude she is so out of your leauge I don't even know what you were thinking."

I had to giggle. This whole thing was quite a sceptical. Plus, it was pretty hot seeing Brandon get so jealous and defensive over me. "Okay, Brandon. I think he gets it." I said.

"Yeah, he better." I dragged Brandon away from the poor kid but he still had hate in his eyes.

Brandon was acting very protecting and he kept looking around like someone was going to pop out with a gun. "Brandon, he's just a desperate kid. Calm down, nothing's going to happen!" I assured him.

"You're right. Sorry. I just- I don't know. I don't like other guys talking to you like that. It's disrespectful." He said. "And I don't want to loose you." He said under his breath.

"Loose me?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Why would you think that?"

"Taylor, you're so beautiful and you have tons of guys drooling all over the place, and out of everyone you chose me. Dumb jock Brandon. I don't want you to realize you can have any other guy and not want me anymore." He sounded so sweet and sincere it made me smile.

"Brandon, are you serious? I love you. Not any other guy who is drooling over me, which by the way doesn't exist. YOU are the one i chose and the one I'm so lucky to have. I couldn't ask for a more perfect boyfriend."

"I love you, Taylor."

"I love you too, Bradon." Yes, then he kissed me. It was perfect. Magical. Undescribable. A few people had stared at us and aww'd. I haven't felt stronger feelings for anyone my entire life than I do for Brandon. And at this moment, it couldn't be more perfect.
