Life Like This       Chapter 1
"Madison Jayde, get up and do something for crying out loud! It's the summer time and you're sitting around on the computer. Why don't you call up Amy or something? It'll get you out of the house." She muttered, walking through the living room with a laundry basket at her hip. Madi groanded and got up, slowly walking up the rich mahagony stairs. She glanced down the hallway that seemed so pale and vacant. Walking down the hallway, she looked into each room, seeking excitment. Of course, Madi found nothing. That's what happens when you're an only child. Nothing ever goes on, she thought. Suddenly she realized calling Amy would be good. It would give her something to do and it was always exciting at Amy's. Reaching her room, Madi grabbed her phone. The iPhone fit perfectly in the girls little hand and she dialed Amy's number, hoping she would pick up. It rang 4 times and Madison tapped my foot impatiently. "C'mon Amy...Answer." she spoke aloud, sighing in frustration when the girls voicemail came. I'll just ride my bike over, Madi thought, knowing it would be the next best thing. So she ran down the huge staircase and almost knocked into her mother, "Oh, sorry mom. I'm going to Amy's!" She yelled, pushing past so she could reach the garage, "Wait! Madison, did she say it was okay? And watch out, you'll knock into my-" She stopped mid sentence as she noticed Madison was already out the door. The petite girl hopped onto her bike and rode off, in high hopes of finding an adventure.
