Ask him out. why wait? If he loves you, there's no chance he can reject you! And if you don't want to ask him, then ask him why he hasn't asked you yet. He loves you, you guys should be more then friends. It sounds like you already are. Tell him everything you wrote. If i were in your position i would tell him exactly what you wrote, tell him everything, if he truly loves and cares about maybe he doesnt want to date because he doesnt want things to get messed up, i have been there and it sucks so either give it time or talk to him
