Chapter 1 
"You will know it when you feel it" This is always what people would tell me. This was their little pep talk to let me know I would find a good boyfriend or to say you will fall in love. Now you probably are wondering who I am. Well my name is Skylar and there's this guy...
It all started during the summer of my freshman year. I woke up early and walked to my old school to help with a summer camp for children to learn how to play instruments. I walked in casually and found my friends who also were helping out. Right after I said hi my friend Kyle had an idea for my friend Sabrina and me.
"Why don't you come to my baseball game?" Kyle asked us. Sabrina and I both smiled and agreed that we should go. We loved going to Kyle's games. They were always fun and we laughed and talked to his team. We always had a great time and always ended up making fools of ourselves cheering Kyle on. Finally after the camp finished we made our way to the baseball fields and then from there fate took over. Sabrina and I got to the game just as it was beginning. For the first time in our lives we didn't come late to one of Kyle's games. As we were sitting down watching the game suddenly Sabrina had to ask Kyle a question. So we got up and walked to the dugout to talk to Kyle.
"Heeeeey Kyle" Sabrina and I said in unison as we approached the dugout.
"What's up giirlfriend" Kyle replied with his usual sarcastic answer.
"So I have a question.." Sabrina started when she was interrupted by Kyle.
"Ok I'm next to bat. Ask me when I come back. Stay right here" Kyle said as he began to jog away. So Sabrina and I stayed next to the dugout waiting for Kyle to come back. We stood their talking about people and things.
"Oh my gosh! So Carl asked Jess out yesterday" I said to Sabrina laughing. Then out of no where I heard.
"Did you say Carl?" questioned a boy who appeared in the dugout.
"Yes." I said pretending to be extremely interested in my nails not even looking up.
"He has a birthmark shaped like a heart right here on his elbow!" the boy said. I looked up to see where he was pointing and then we got caught in a gaze into each others eyes.
Have you ever looked into some one's eyes and everything just felt right, like nothing you have ever felt before? I never believed at love at first sight. It always seemed like a fairy tale or a myth. I always used to think that it was made up just to make us all keep looking for "the one" and not give up on life. But this, this felt different this is the kind of first look you see in movies. Where for the first time they lock eyes and fall madly in love. Well for fourteen year olds love is a strong word so let's say we fell madly in like.
"Oh! That's interesting," I said finally breaking the stare. Sabrina looked at me after just witnessing what happened. Something looked weird in her eyes. Pain? Betrayal? I didn't know but for some reason I ignored it and focused on the guy.
"So what is your name?" The boy asked me. He already knew Sabrina.
"I'm Skylar," I said, "How about you?"
"Well my name is Jacob but everyone calls me Jake." Jake said answering my question. Then I felt a vibration in my pocket. It was my mom. She always had the worst timing. She sent me a text saying she was mad about something and I was to go home that second.
"Gotta go. Bye" I mumbled starting to walk home. I hated that I didn't even get a chance to talk to Jake or get his number because that gaze, that second I looked into his eyes, my world, my beliefs, and even my view of guys were changed completely. But I had a feeling that some way or somehow he would find me because life sometimes just works out in my favor.
