i need help!

so i like this guy he will come up to me and say hi and maybe we will even talk to me for a while and he will sit next to me in some of the classes that we have together it makes me happy because i really like him. i can not help but think does he like me back?  and we had our homecoming dance and i was all ready to ask him if he wanted to dance but it turns out that he was dance with someone else like every time i would look for him is it even worth liking him anymore?
