Lemme know what you think of my poetry, I love writing it, it is really my only way to get all of my emotions out because I am not very good expressing them any other way. Through heartbreak, love, friendship, and other drama, poetry is always the one thing I can turn to.

When I'm around you, for a second my hope returns
I forget every break and every burn
Every night when my world spins out of control
I think of you and my heart feels whole.

Around you, I can't help but laugh
For now it doesn't feel like I'm being torn in half.
Your brown eyes goy me in a daze.
I don't think this is 'Just a phase'

You make me smile 24/7
A minute with you is like an hour in heaven.
Hard to believe we only met 2 years ago.
Our friendship is 'Just go with the flow'

You are my very best friend.
I know on you I can depend.
From good to bad you stick with me,
You have my heart under lock and key.
You

Your smile, your eyes
They've got me hypnotized.
All of this is just so new,
But I really do like you.

You make me laugh when I need it most.
When I'm with you my smile is from coast to coast.
You're funny, you're weird, you're everything great.
Last summer it just felt like fate.

I really love to watch you play
Even if you're having an off day.
You really are my best guy friend
Forever and always until the end...

Since we've met my feelings have grown,
Even if they've never shown.
You're the best I could ask for,
I wouldn't wish for anything more.
A Love That Lasts Forever

Love isn't all it's cracket up to be,
But you wouldn't know unless you've felt it youself, you see.
Love isn't aways sweet, sometimes it's a one way street.
Love, love, love, it's a feeling all too deep.
A broken heart is cold, cracked, and crumbled,
It pulls tight, makes you fight just to see a silver lining.
But when it's real, BOOM! Your heart explodes.
It's all just a warm storm being born in your heart.
All for that hope that one day:
It'll be a Love That Lasts Forever.
Forever

Forever is a promise.
This is not true,
Forever is a lie.
The ugly truth?
Forever is bitter and cold,
Like a snowstorm,
Forever usually ends.

And yet, this is all our fate unless we choose to reverse it.

Poet's Note: This is one of those poems that makes sense if you read it top to bottom or bottom to top...
Love is Like....

Love is like a roller coaster; full of ups and downs.
Love is like a ditch; once you're in, it's almost impossible to get out.
Love it like a rose; beautiful until you get the thorns.
Love is like a hot air balloon; it goes up and takes a while to come down.
Love is like a lock; only a key can set it free.
Love is like a pool; if you dive in you may go too deep too fast.
Love is like a fire; burning but it'll eventually go out.
Love is like a highway; sometimes just too fast.
Love is like a cliff; you could fall at any moment.
Love is like a cupcake; delicious and sweet.
Nine Syllables

I'm a riddle in nine syllables,
A kitten, a mysterious tree,
A ball rolling on an endless street.
O' yellow sun shining down on me!
Those apples being harvested now.
Happiness flooding into my heart.
I'm a diamond, a gem, just now found.
I've tried every road possible,
An endless road, there is no way out.

Poet's Note: Okay, don't actually go looking for an answer to the riddle, it's not a riddle, but if you count the syllables in each line you'll notice that they all have 9. This is something we did in school so if you've ever heard the poem "Metaphors" this is based off of that because it was an assignment.
Second Chances

Why do we give out second chances?
All we do in the end is get ourselves hurt again.
We break, we bruise, we bend,
All for the sake of trying again.
What makes us think it won't end the same?
We all have this idea what people change,
But they don't, we all stay the same.
So next time, think about this...
Is a second chance worth a bruise that will last forever?

Poet's Note: This poem is not to say we shouldn't give out second chances, it's just to say don't put yourself in a position where you could get yourself hurt again if it's happened the same way once already because then you're just hurting yourself.
