I don't know what to say to you, except goodluck. 
Good luck figuring him out and making him happy, Lord knows I tried and failed. So many times. I guess you can take this as official resignation, a white flag. I give up, you can have him. But promise me this. Promise me you'll sit with him and listen to the amazing old school acoustics he loves so much but everyone else hates. Promise me you'll never eat the pink yoghurt candy, cause it's his favourite. Remember to say I love you after every fight, and whenever he looks down. The smile on his face afterwards is worth dying for. He's not the smartest guy, but let him think he's Albert Einstein, the glimmer in his eyes will amaze you. Promise you'll lie on the grass with him and talk about everything like we used to. I guess if I can't feel it ever again, you may as well. Play basketball with him, listen to him complain about hockey. He gets annoying when he steals your food, so bring extra. He's nervous when he plays with his hair, but it's the cutest thing. Get ready for cheesy love songs, long gazes and amazing hugs. For whining about his family and talking to his cute little sister. Getting dizzy at the park and screaming and laughing for hours on end. Make it last as long as you can, he loves you; please don't take it for granted. 
He was my bestfriend and I love him so much, so take care of him. I hope he's happy with you and I wish you all the best.
