Tuesday
6 months after I was born,
my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Going to chemo with her every
Thursday was normal for me as a toddler.I never thought of her as
any different as the other parents.
Then the summer before 5th grade,
she got really sick.
I still thought she was as
beautiful as ever.
I found out I had won class
president in 5th grade.
So I went home to tell my
mom.
She used every ounce of strength
to
smile and high-five me.
Then I went to my friend's
house.
Where I was later called
home.
My father told me,
"Honey, mommy isn't with us
anymore."
So now, here I am in 8th grade,
class president.
And I can feel my mommy high fiving
and smiling at me from heaven.
