Chapter 1:
My
name is RaeLynn Michaels, my twin JaeLynn and I died in a car
crash when we were 10. Fortunately, the doctors rushed us to
the hospital in time to by revived. I woke up different. My head
was pounding with thoughts that weren't mine. Everyone was
colored with a thin screen of color, well everyone who is alive
that is. JaeLynn didn't know how to control herself when she
woke up. She pointed out all the things I kept in my head.
That's when the therapy started. She went to her therapist
two times a month, which turned into twice every other week,
which turned into once a week, which turned into every other week
day. Then it happened.
The phone call. I woke up at around 11 and, and came
downstairs to my mom crying, dad was holding his head in his
hands, and JaeLynn was sitting there wide-eyed. Without
moving her mouth she said, "Don't tell them about
you, don't cry, just listen and promise me you will
never forget me."
My throat closed, my eyes burned, the world fell away for a
second, I was slipping away and falling into a dark abyss of
loneliness and-
"Rae," she pulls me back, "Your father and I have
something to tell you."
Two days later we sat on my bed waiting. The doorbell rang,
we jumped. I didn't cry. She left. For the first time ever, I
was alone. What was I supposed to tell our friends when school
started?
(Should I continue? Please
