I walked
into art, which was my first period class. I had a lot of
upperclassmen with me, but at least there was a few people i
knew. I sat next to a girl i had in a few of my classes last
year, Aubrey Dawson. She is considered a nerd, but under all of
the dorkiness she was actually really nice. Aubrey isn't
talkative at all, but i don't think i'll want too talk much at
7 in the morning anyways.
I wasn't surprised to see Stella Murphy over with the
upperclassman guys, bending over doing what the "A-Listers" do.
All of a sudden i heard a jock yelling my name.
"ARIANA! What did you do all summer?", he said in a mocking
voice.
I just looked down at my student planner and blushed. All
of the jocks laughed and gave the kid high-fives. It was one of
those questions where the person knows exactly what happened,
they're just trying to be funny. It happened for a reason, but
it's definitley not something i'm proud of.
The only question i have for all of these jocks is how the
found out about what happened.

It
feels like it's been at least 5 hours since i've seen Bri, but
it's finally lunch. We fill eachother in on eachother's days,
and i am just dying to ask if she's told anybody.
"Brianna, i have a question," i said to her, finally taking
some pressure off of my shoulders.
"Whenever you use my full name, it's never a good thing. But go
for it," she said nervously.
"It's not that i'm saying you told anybody, but has anybody
somehow found out about that thing over the summer?", i
asked.
"No i promise over our friendship! I would NEVER tell a
soul!"
Her response was promising, and it's not like i would ever
believe anybody over my best friend.

Bri and I
have lunch, history, spanish, and our free period together. But
it's finally the end of the day. If this is what high school is
like every day for the rest of these four years, i do not know
how i'm going to get through it.
As soon as i walk through the door i smell dinner. It's already
on the table, fettucini alfredo and chicken. I eat quickly so i
can try to avoid my parents questions about my first day, but
unfortunatley, they were able to ask one.
"Ari, how did you like high school?!", my dad asked
excitingly.
"It's great, just not what i expected it to be
necassarily."
My parents kind of just nodded in agreement, so that was a good
time for me to just go upstairs and avoid the rest of the
questions.

1

Popularity was
never really my thing. Ever since my class' princess, Audrey
Cardenilli, humiliated me in front of everyone, I no longer cared
about popularity as much as i did in 7th grade. Now that i'm a
freshman, i'm expecting 10 times more of the drama and stuck-up
brats.

I hate the beeping
of an alarm clock, especially at 5:30 in the morning. I slowly
get up, but then realize it's the first day of high school. I
instantly pounce up. These are the days your parents tell you
about every day, how they wish they could go back to their school
days. I go turn on my straightener and put on my brand new
outfit. I decided to wear a cut off loose shirt from forever 21,
and my "Miss Me" jeans. When i finish my hair and make up, i go
downstairs only to find my brother and sister fighting. My
brother, Chase, is 11. My sister, Kendrah, is 13. I started
school when i was older, so i'm 15.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO
TAKE MY LAPTOP OUT OF MY ROOM CHASE," Kendrah
screamed.
"Honestly, both of
you shut up," i mutter.
It's 7:02, and i
need to leave for school. I grab my coffee from the table that my
mom prepared for me, and leave with her. School starts at 7:35, i
just want to be early on my first day.
When I get there,
Bri is already waiting for me at the main entrance doors. She's
been my best friend since 4th grade. Ironically, we hated
eachother before we got the chance to know eachother better.
She's one of those drop-dead gorgeous girls you would expect to
be in "The A-Lists" but she's stuck with me since our younger
years. She's the closest thing to perfect. She has a great
family, a cute boyfriend, and she's probably one of the nicest
girls i've ever met.
"Hey Ari you look
adorable," Bri says to me.
"Thanks Bri, so do
you," i exclaim, hugging her like i haven't seen her in
weeks.
Brianna is the only
person that knows what happened to me this summer, and if word
gets out, i don't think anything will be the same for me
anymore.
