The Boys Next Door
Chapter
11
Haydens P.O.V
I
walked out my front door the next morning and got into my jeep
wearing a cowgirl-chic outfit. I was wearing my red buttondown
with a floral pattern, my denim shorts, cowgirl boots, a ton of
bracelets and a long heartshaped locket. I was just about
to pull out of my drive when I heard the familiar.
"Hayden! Wait up! Can we get a ride!?" From Thomas. I
giggled.
"Get in!" I waited for them to get in and we drove to
school. I didn't say much in the car to avoid the awkward
talking to Randy about the night before. We parked in my usual
place at school and Thomas ran off with the 14-year
olds.
"Look, Randy we need to talk." I said to him.
"Why where you being such a butt to me last night?" I
asked.
"Well, you coulda told me it was with Austin Greene! The
guys a player!" He said.
"And you aren't? I saw you sucking face with
Alexa!" I yelle at him.
"Just get outta my car." I glared at him.
He walked off in a huff. Whatever, I don't need him. I
got out of my car and walked to my locker where Austin was
waiting for me.
"Hey babe" He said pulling me in for a hug. I have a
nickname! internal happy dance go!
"Hey" I smiled and leaned up and pecked him on the
lips.
Perfect timing. Randy just walked by holding hand with Alexa.
Inner smirk! Today was turning out pretty good! I grabbed
my book and went to my next class and pulled out my phone while
my teacher droned on. I texted Brett.
Hayden: Guess who's throat Randy had his tongue down
today?
Brett: YOU!
Hayden: No. Nice try. Alexa.
Brett: Are you serious!? What douche!
Hayden: You just called your brother a douche.
Brett: because he is.
Hayden: I know but your his brother.
Brett: ....It doesn't matter, you're a cool chick.
Hayden: Thanks, but I don't think Randy think so.
Brett: you know he's just trying to make you jealous?
Hayden: doubt it.
Brett: Whatever Hayden, he likes you.
Hayden: I don't think so, anyway I have a boyfriend.
Brett: You do! Who is it?
Hayden: Austin Greene.
Brett:..Oh. He's a player.
Hayden: why does everyone keep saying that!
Brett: because it's true.
Hayden. Well whatever, I gotta go, we're swapping
classes.
Brett: Kk bye, text me later Hays.
Hayden: will do Bebs.
I walked to my next class and I almost rounded the corner when I
saw Austin all up on another girl. His tongue was down her
throat. I started to tear up and ran the other way. Well, I guess
I'm taking the long way to Geometry.

Chapter 9
Haydens' P.O.V
I
shuffled down the hallway with my head down. The day hadn't
gotten much better since lunch. Nothing too entirely bad had
happened except the F on my History quiz. Since I was walking
with my head down, I ran into a brick wall. I looked up and
saw a person. Okay, this dude, was buff.
"Oh, sorry." I said, softly smiling.
"It's cool." He said.
"Hayden, right?" He asked me.
"Yes." I smiled.
He reletively attractive, but he was definately no Randy. They
where like polar opposites actually. Randy had tan skin and
swooshy dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. This guy had pale
skin, he still had a whooshy haircut, but it was carmel colored
instead of the dirty blonde of Randy's. He had chocolate
brown eyes.
"Nice. I'm Austin." He smiled down at me, this guy
was a giant.
"Nice to meet you, Austin." I grinned.
"Hey, you have really cool hair." He said checking it
out.
"Aww thank you!" I said.
"Well, it was nice talking to you Austin, but I have a class
to get to." I smiled goofly at him. I started walking down
the hallway when he called my name once again.
"Wait! Hayden!" I turned around.
"Do you wanna grab dinner, or see a movie or something
tonight around seven?" He asked me.
"Um, sure." I smiled.
Oh my god. My very first date. I did just what a teenaged girl
would do in a situation like this. I texted my best friend. Well,
she was the closest thing to a best friend I had at this school,
but that was beside the point. I pulled out my white iPhone 4s my
parents had gotten me for my birthday a few weeks ago and texted
Estelle.
Hayden: OMG!! Guess What?!
Estelle: What? What happened!
Hayden: I got asked out on my very first date!
Estelle: OMG OMG OMG. When? Where? What time?
Hayden: Tonight, at the movie complex at seven!!!
Estelle: I'm coming over after school to help you get
ready!!!
Hayden: kk! Bye love!
Estelle: Bye sugar!
I walked down the hall with a huge smile on my face. Then I
bumped into Randy. Not literally this time.
"What are you so happy about?" He asked, with his smile
lines forming. Didn't he know he totally sent my heart
through a shredder? Whatever.
"I have a date tonight." I said nonchalontly.
"YOU HAVE A DATE?!" He practically screamed.
"Yes, now shut up." I rolled my eyes.
"Who asked you out?" He said.
"Austin." I simply said.
Randy stood and thought for like two seconds.
"Well, okay, have fun then." He seemed to hesitate.
Whatever, he can go suck face with Alexa more. What did I care
about him anymore? I had a date tonight. I walked out to my car
after all my classes and Estelle got in with me and I drove home.
She began to help me get ready for one of the biggest nights of
any teenaged girls life. I was torn between freaking out and
having a party on the inside. I couldn't wait. Estelle and I
walked into my bedroom and we started getting me ready. I am so
excited!
The Boys Next Door
Chapter 8
Haydens' P.O.V
-1
Week Later-
I had begun to hang out with
Estelle a lot more lately. She was really sweet compared to most
people at my new school. She was sitting on my bed right now
getting the hair dye ready. I'd asked my parents if I could
do some things with my, and they said it was cool, plus I wanted
to surprise the boys. Estelle slid on the gloves and began
running her fingers through my hair. In an hour, my curls where a
really pretty color of dirty blonde. But we weren't done yet.
Estelle sepreated my hair into sections and hilighted some of it
with blue and pink dye, the finally we washed it and let my curls
fall into their original position. I hadn't seen it yet and I
was a bit nervous. I had never done anything crazy like this to
my hair. I took the towel that concealed my curls off and gasped.
It looked amazing. It made me look hipeter and that was my
goal. she had to go home since it was dinner time, and we
walked down stairs and my parents gasped. I prepared for the
worst, but it turned out they actually liked it. We ate dinner
after Estelle left and I went to bed.
-Morning-
I woke up and took a shower careful on my fresh dyed hair and I
got ready. I was wearing stone washed denim shorts, and a white
flowy tee shirt with a pair of brown wedges and tons of brown
bracelets and my brown satchel bag. I pulled the top of the front
of my hair to the side and pinned it. I thought I looked pretty
cute. I walked outside and started my jeep to hear the usual:
"HAYDEN! WAIT!"
Randy and Thomas came running to the car and they got in, and
then they gasped.
"Hayden! You changed your hair" Thomas exclaimed.
"Yeah, I kind of noticed." I giggled.
"So, what do you guys think?" I raised an
eyebrow.
"It looks amazing" Randy said stroking it. I blushed a
bit.
"It really does." smiled Thomas.
"Who did it?" Thomas asked.
"My friend Estelle, she's a genious at hair
really." I giggled.
"Estelle? Estelle Newbrooke?" Thomas asked.
"That's the one!" I smiled, while driving.
"Man, she's gorgeous." He said. He sounded as if he
where swooning.
"Woah, Thomas has a crush!!!" I giggled.
"I'm so setting y'all up" I grinned happily and
got to school.
I stepped out of my car and locked it and walked onto the
courtyard of the building. Everyone was gaping at my hair, I just
smiled. I was walking down the outdoor hallway to my locker and I
was stopped by Alexa.
"Gawd, you where ahl-ready a huh-yoog freak and the you dyed
your hair." She scoffed.
I rolled my eyes, I had gained a lot more confidence since my
friendship with Estelle.
"Well, Mine may strange to you, but at least it's
all completely real, unlike 68% of yours." I smirked and
continued to my locker.
I walked into my next class and sat down. Then I looked to my
right. I really wished I didn't.
Randy and Alexa where sucking face like there was no freaking
tomorrow. It was gross.
But it also killed my inside, because I had started to like
Randy.
I felt a tear forming and it took everything in my power not to
just start bawling on the spot.
Well, this day officially sucks.
The Boys Next Door
Chapter 7
Haydens' P.O.V
-1 month later-
School had eventually rolled around. Tomorrow was my first day at
Mackawee high, and I had the perfect outfit. My dark brown waves
had significantly lightenend, because of all the sun, turning
them into a carmel color, I had new freckles on my new dark tan
skin. Since no one here had seen me before, I had to make an
impression. I had chosen to wear my plain white button up shirt
with my red black and white varsity jacket over it and my plain
denim shorts that cuffed and my black converse with star shaped
earings.

I
walked out the front door and got into the jeep my parents bought
me 2 weeks after I turned sixteen. It was a really pretty '07
that was yellow. I got in it and then I heard a yell from Thomas
and Randy. I giggled.
"Hey Hayden! Could we hitch a
ride?" Randy said.
"Sure! Get in!" I yelled. I opened the door by pushing
it. I drove to school blaring One Direction.
I was singing along with it and giggling.
Thomas rolled his eyes. "Seriously, Hayden, whenever we get
into your car, we listen to them."
"I know!"
I pulled up into the parking lot and turned the volume down just
a bit. I pulled into a parking space and got out. Loads of
people where staring.
"Who is that with Thomas and Randy?" I heard a girl
whisper.
"Hey Man!" Screamed a football guy at Randy.
"Sup" Randy said back.
"Hey Thomas!" A few freshmen bat their eyes at him.
"ladies men, aren't ya'll now?" I giggled.
"Oh yeah" Thomas winked.
"I gotta go guys!" Thomas walked into the huddle of
girls leaving me and Randy alone.
"Hey Randy," I said pulling out my schedule, "Do
you think you could show me where Johnson's class
is?"
"Sure, come on"
We walked into Mr. Johnson's class and before Randy left I
grabbed his arm and tapped my cheek.
"Uh uh uh!" I giggled, and he kissed my cheek. We
didn't have anything going on, although we kissed each others
cheeks' all the time. I sat down in an empty desk and waited
for my new maths teacher to walk in.
"So, are you dating Randy, then?" Said a girl with
crazy hair beside me. It was blonde and curly, but it had
colorful streaks and feathers everywhere, but somehow, it looked
cute.
"No, we're just friends." I smiled. "Nice to
meet you by the way, I'm Hayden." I held out my hand and
she shook it.
"Estelle." She said. "So you're new here,
yes?" She cocked an eyebrow.
"Mhm, moved here two months ago, right next to the
marina."
"So that's how you know the boys." She said. And
pushed her hipster glasses up her nose.
"Yep!" I smiled and she smiled back.
She was really pretty in her own way.
I think I just made my first friend other than the
boys.
I'm sorry it's
short.
The Boys Next Door
Chapter 6
Haydens' P.O.V
I
leaned in and closed my eyes. This was it. The moment I was
finally getting my first kiss. I never really cared what people
thought of me before I moved here I felt like a whole new person.
Slowly and softly, Randy's full plump lips where on mine. It
felt like static electricity was drawing us together. After a few
minutes, that felt like hours, had gone by we pulled away. I was
smiling uncontrollably now. How could I have managed to get my
first kiss from a boy this nice, sweet, amazing, and good
looking?
"Goodnight, Hayden" He said crawling
off my roof, while smiling. I just smiled back, because quite
frankly, I couldn't get any words out. I waddled back into
the window and layed in my bed and had a really good dream. I
woke up the next morning and got ready for work, Today I had gone
with my plain eletric green bikini, distressed light was shorts,
and a brown yarn shirt that let you see my green bikini. I walked
out the door and onto the boat dock.
"Hey guys!" I said walking torwards them.
"Hey Hayden!" They all said.
I giggled and gave them each a hug.
I lingered on Randy's a bit.
"Well, someones' in a good mood!" Chuckled
Brett.
I just smiled at him and nodded, because honestly, I was in the
best mood in the world.
I went to work the gas station, because I got put there again
today, while Randy and Thomas worked the Gift Shop and
Brett had the repair station. I just lazily layed on the dock
waiting for some old grown men to come get gas. I'd found out
if you play weak little girl, they tip extra.
"Oh gosh sir, I bet you're really good at pumping the
gas!" I smiled.
The man chuckled.
"Here's your tip." He smiled and drove away.
I laughed. The man had given me twenty bucks. The next boat
that pulled up was the biggest, fanciest, shmanciest yatch I had
ever seen.
"Randyyy! Guess who needs gassss!" I heard a high pitch
voice come from the microphone on the boat. Crap.
Alexa walked out of the boat and I smirked.
"Sorry sugar, Randy doesn't have gas today." I
giggled.
Alexa rolled her eyes.
Then she glared at me and began to speak.
"Listen, If you don't keep your pale, ugly, pathetic,
scrawney, northern Alabama hands away from MY boys, well, it
won't be good." Alexa said, fuming.
I just laughed and filled her up with gas and waited for her to
drive away.
Then I began to panic. I can't help that I'm friends with
the boys! What am I going to do?
I looked over and saw Brett walking up the dock.
"Hey Hayden!" He smiled.
"Hey Boo." I said, kind of zoned out. Boo was my
nickname for him by the way.
"What's the matter Hays?" He asked sounding
genuinlly concerned. I pointed at the big boat in the
distance.
"Alexa?" He asked.
I started to tear up a bit.
"She told me I couln't hang out with y'all anymore
or she'd do something to me! I don't know what to
do!" I said.
"Well, isn't it obvious." Brett said.
I looked at him confunsed. Then he started to mimic me.
"Well, like, Totes ignore her!" I giggled.
"I do not talk like that!"
Brett's
P.O.V
I was
just chilling in the repair shop, when I saw a big fancy yatch
drive by the gas. I had been keeping my eye on Hayden, because
when you have a drop dead gorgeous girl a few meters away from
you, who wouldn't? But anyway, I saw the yatch and I
immideatly knew who it was. I heard Alexa come over the
intercom:
"Randyyyy! Guess who needs gasss!" I chuckled. Alexa
was in for a suprise.
I watched Alexa walk onto the deck and talk to Hayden, glaring at
her. Hayden's face still in a smirk. Alexa got back on her
boat and left, and then it happened.
I saw Haydens face drop, she had been faking the smirk.
My mom was sitting in the repair shop with me, so I yelled at
her.
"Ma, I'm taking my break."
She hardly looked up from her magazine and told me okay.
I walked down to the dock and asked Hayden what was
wrong.
She pointed to the big boat confirming what I already knew.
She told me the whole story and I began to comfort her, gradually
pulling her back to earth. To top it off I even mimicked her.
"I do not talk like that!" She shrieked.
I chuckled.
"I know. It's just my generic girl voice." I said
smirking.
She laughed and returned to the really good mood she was in this
morning.
That made me happy.
"Hey, don't listen to Alexa. If she bothers you again,
just get me, Randy, or Thomas. Okay?"
I asked her raising my eyebrow.
"Kay." She said smiling.
"I gotta get back to work." I said.
"Alright! Bye!" Said getting up and giving me a
hug.
I returned to my post at the repair workshop and thought:
She is absolutely
amazing.
Okay!
That's another one! Tell me what you think! Please comment
and fave and stuff, because I'm thinking of just stopping
this story. Comments and faves are the only thing that keeps me
writing.
The
Boys Next Door
Chapter 5
Haydens' P.O.V
I walked onto the
beach of the lake to see a ton of teenagers all huddled around
the bonfire. I started walking torwards them and all of a sudden
warm arms around my waist.
"What the heck!?" I scream giggled.
"What, did I scare the princess?" Randy asked cocking
an eyebrow.
"Yes!" I giggled.
"Come on, come meet all of my friends." He put air
quotes around friends.
We walked over to the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen.
She had platinum blonde long hair with a side fringe and
robins egg blue eyes and the best body in the world.
"Hey, Alexa. This is Hayden." He said in a somewhat
annoyed way.
Alexa rolled her eyes.
"Whatevs." She looked down at her phone and got to
texting. After a few minutes she eventually lifted her head
up.
"Randy! Babe!" She threw her arms around him, and
planted a big sloppy kiss on him. Right on the lips. I could feel
my heart drop to my toes.
"Ew, Alexa! Get off of me!" Randy was struggling to
break free.
"Babe, don't be like that!" Alexa whined.
"I am not your babe! We broke up ages ago, and I don't
like you anymore! Lets go Hayden." He put his arm around me
and I felt my cheeks redden.
"What, you're seriously leaving me for that- that ugly
cow?!" Alexa shouted.
I felt a tear stream down my face.
"Shut up Alexa." Randy started walking me torwards the
guys.
We got there, and by the time we did I was full out bawling. I
had never had anyone be that mean to me before.
"What happend?" Thomas and Brett asked at the exact
same time.
"Alexa, called her an ugly cow." Randy whispered
hugging me.
I was now in a group hug of the guys.
"Hays, pretty is an understatement of how gorgeous you
are!" Thomas said. The edge of my mouth went upward a
bit.
"Thanks Tommy" I said with my crying voice.
"For real, man, Hayden don't listen to a word the girl
says. You are so freaking beautiful." Brett
said.
"Thanks guys, um, I guess I'm going to go home
now." I dried up my tears and walked home. I went to my room
and got changed into my jamies and threw my hair up into a bun. I
crawled out onto my roof and started tearing up again.
I don't understand why this one comment was making me so
upset, I mean I have been called ugly before, it's not
anything new. But, I guess it was just the hatred in her voice
that said it.
All of a sudden the tree near my roof rustled and I prepared to
die.
"Hey Hayden." It was just Randy, crawling onto the
roof.
"What are you doing here?" I said whiping my eyes.
"You scared the crap out of me!"
He chuckled that adorbale chuckle of his.
"I just came to make sure the princess was
alright."
My lips twitched upwards.
"Thank you." I said wrapping my arms around him into a
hug.
"Happy sixteenth birthday!" He
said.
Randy's
P.O.V
I
whiped a tear from her mascera stained cheek as I wished her a
happy birthday. Why did it have to turn out like this? She was
such an amazing girl. We got onto talking later into the
night and we where quizzing each other on our lives, and stuff. I
can truthfully say, Her favourite color is bright orange, her
favourite band is One Direction, her favourite pizza topping is
plain pepporoni. I could tell you a lot more, but it would take a
ton of listing.
"So, how many kisses have you had? Boyfriends?" I asked
as nonchalontly as I could.
"None, actually" She chuckled and smiled.
"Seriously?" I asked. "But your so amazing! Is the
male population stupid or something? You've had to have had
at least one boyfriend!"
I exlaimed. It bothered me how nobody had made and effort
to make her feel as amazing as she is.
"Not even my first kiss."
She said and sighed. It took every ounce of courage I had in my
body, what I was about to do.
I looked her straight in the eyes.
"Lets fix that."
Hey
everyone! I'm back! Sorry for not posting a new chapter in
forever! To make up for it you might be able to expect another
one or two tonight! I'm really sorry! I had a busy week,
because my movie came out! Have you seen it? It's called
"A Smile As Big As The Moon." I'm an extra in it!
Whoop Whoop!
The
Boys Next Door
Chapter 4
Hayden's
P.O.V
I woke up and stretched and did my daily
getting ready ritual. I went over to my dresser and pulled out a
bikini that was all shimmery and started with red at the top of
the first triangle, then slowly faded to a burnt orange. The
bottoms where the same, but they where string bikini with orange
ties. I tied my curls into a side braid and put on some dark wash
hollister shorts and a bright red Ron John Surf Shack tee shirt
and brown flip flops and headed out the door. Well, I tried to
walk out the door. There was was saran wrap on it that said
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I giggled and broke the saran wrap
and found the yard totally rolled. I looked at my driveway and in
sidewalk chalk it said: Meet us at the lake for a surprise! I
went down to the shore of the lake to find a huge bonfire and
three smiling boys. They each held gifts.
"Happy Birthday Hays!" That was their new nickname for
me.
"Guys! You didn't have to do anything for my
birthday!" I exclaimed.
"Well, we did, so get over
it." That snarky comment was from none other than Randy. I
giggled. He gave me his present first.
"We didn't know what to get you, since we kind of just
met you the other day, but we hope you like them." He
smirked.
I opened it up and it was a beautiful pucca shell necklace with a
pink flower as a pendant.
"Aww! Thank you I love it!" I hugged him, the Thomas
handed me his.
I opened it and giggled because they where the most precious
earrings ever. They where studs, but they where unique because
they where turqoise gem stones, not molded into anything, just
jagged like gems where supposed to be.
"Thanks so much!"
I gave him a hug also. Now finally it was time for Bretts'
gift. I opened it and smiled softly.
It was a bracelet that had all kinds of different colors on it
and peace signs and the middle of it was a big silver heart.
"Aw, Thank you!"
I gave him a hug also.
"So be honest, did your mom help you pick these out?" I
raised my eyebrow. "Jeez Hays, you just met us and you
already know us so well!" Thomas chuckled. God.
They where all so
cute.
Randy's
P.O.V
The
look in her eyes when we gave her her gifts was incredable. We
each got a hug from her, giving us a chance to take in her scent.
Alright, it's official. We where all head over heels with
this girl. I was thinking about how her hair looked then all of a
sudden I got a text message.
Alexa: Hey babe! I'm coming home this weekend!
Crap. Why did Alexa always have to come into my life? She thinks
I'm in love with her or something but I'm not. She is so
clinging and thinks we're still together even though we broke
up ages ago.
Randy: Cool.
Alexa: Babe, don't you want to see me? ;)
Randy: Whatever.
And then I got texts from ALL of her friends. They all treated me
and my bro's like we were gods or something. I looked over at
them and they both nodded. That meant they got the message
to.
Rachel: We're coming home!
Sandy: Hope you didn't miss us too much!
Layna: Hey good looking! Bonfire tonight for our homecoming! be
there.
Nina: coming homeee!
Then I looked up from all the annoying messages I was getting. I
could see it in Hayden's eyes something was wrong. Just as I
was about to ask her, she asked us:
"Guys, what's wrong? You all checked your phones at the
same time and the went from fun to a stick in like zero point
five seconds." She furrowed her eyebrows worried for us.
"Nothing, there's just a bonfire tonight, and some girls
are coming home." Thomas said.
"Pfft. Yeah. Really annoying girls." Brett said.
"Oh well, at least it'll be a chance for you to meet
some people?" I said sounding it like a question.
"Okay, cool!"
She smiled and we got to work.
Hayden's
P.O.V
I was really curious who these
girls where because one minute the guys are all happy and then
they got texts and the world just seemed to stop turning or
something. I don't know it sounds crazy but it's the
truth.
I wish I could find a way to help them but then I thought about
the sitiuation.
"Well, Randy's right. I can meet some new people. These
girls can't be too terrible can they?"
I asked cocking my eyebrow.
They all shook their heads up and down.
"They are all over us and it's kind of disgusting. One
of them even thinks Randy's her boyfriend." Thomas
stated.
"For real? They sound annoying and desperate to me, but
that's just me."
I giggled.
"No it isn't, everyone thinks that." Brett
said.
"Anyway, Hays, sorry for dumping all of this on you on your
birthday! We should be celebrating. Come on ice cream on
us?!" Randy said.
We took our breaks and went to the ice cream parlour and had a
great time. But these girls kept troubling me in mind. Oh well, I
guess I'd find out just how atrocious they are, based on what
the guys say, tonight.
So, what do you think so far? I hope you all
like it! I'm sorry about the spacing, I don't know what
the problem is.
The Boys Next
Door
Chapter 3
Haydens' P.O.V
I woke up to the sound of three
boys shouting at my window.
"HAYDEN! WAKE YOUR LAZY BOOTY UP! IT'S TIME FOR
WORK!"
Great. I have to work. Again. Oh well, it wasn't so bad.
"HAYDEN! HAYDEN! HAYDEN! COME ON!"
I got tired of hearing that so eventually I got up and opened my
window.
"COOL YOUR JETS! I'M UP, ALRIGHT?!"
I closed the window and took a nice refreshing shower, then I
went over to my dresser, and pulled out my hot pink, lime green,
and blue ruffled triangle top bikini that had plain pink bottoms.
I put on a pair of distressed light wash blue jean shorts
and a a soft cotton white tee shirt, and my Rainbow flip flops,
and walked out the door. As I was walking across the lawn I threw
my hair up in a ponytail and walked into Mrs. Kingston's
office.
"Good morning Mrs. Kingston!"
She gave me a warm smile and greeted me:
"Hun, I told you too call me Jenette, how was your first day
yesterday?"
Another warm smile.
"It was a lot better than expected." I smiled. "I
had no idea the job came with a wake up call, I just wish it had
a snooze alarm!"
I smirk-slash-snickered.
"Oh, those boys." Jenette giggled.
"Anyway sugar, you have gift shop duty today."
I heard giggling from the halls.
"She said duty!"
I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, Brett you'll be on gift shop with Hayden,
Randy you'll be in repairs. and..."
She let out a small chuckle. "Thomas has
gas."
Bretts'
P.O.V
After everyone left, I stayed
back.
"Really ma? Me in gift shop?" I sighed. That was the
worst job ever. Just a ton of snooty ladies coming and asking
questions about 'authenticity' and what not. I don't
even know half the crap they talk about.
"Yes, hun. I'm giving you each a job alone with Hayden
so you can all show her how everything works and make her feel
welcome." My mom gave me a smile and gestured to the
door.
"Get to work sugar pie. Don't keep her
waiting."
I walked out the door and too the gift shop. As I walked
into the curio shop-slash-beach styled gift shop I slid onto the
counter, where Hayden was reading "People"
magazine.
"Hey good lookin' what's cookin?"
I cocked my eyebrow in a flity way that drives all the girls in
Tuscaloosa mad.
She giggled that little cute chuckle of her hers. Wait. What am I
saying? She's fifteen and I'm ninteen. Oh lord.
"Not much, just working." She put air quotes around
working.
"So, how are you liking it here?" I asked sincerely.
She looked shocked that I wasn't joking.
"Well, it's okay. I just keep thinking that once we go
back to school I won't have any idea who anyone is at
all."
I smiled bright at her.
"Not true, you'll have Thomas and Randy!" I gave
her the upside.
"So, when do you turn sixteen?" I asked.
Her eyes brightened up the second I said that.
"Tomorrow, actually." She smiled really bright.
Then, the best idea for tomorrow popped into my head.
I mean it was the best idea,
ever.
Tell me what you think so far! It would mean
loads! Might have another chapter up tonight! Sorry about the
spacing, I don't know what's up with
it.
