The world spins without a second thought. The doors to life open and shut before our eyes. People rush, from here to there, and back again. They check their Facebook or Twitter religiously. They can’t live without their smart-phones or their new, hip, iPads, or whatever else they have. People rush, from here to there, and back again; without a second thought, to life and the doors that they’re being shown.
Why can’t we all just slow down? Take the time out of your day, you have it, I promise. Life may be short, or life may move to fast, but life is what you make it. Take five minutes out of your day, every day, and do something new with those five minutes. Talk to a stranger, be nice to a waiter, it doesn’t matter. Slow down, and get back in touch with who you are. People are not material. People are physical bodies of matter, made up of brains, water, bones, and everything else that makes them human. Why then, do people insist that they need their smart-phones, or they need their Facebook? They don’t. They want those things.
I challenge you, to just sit back for 10 minutes, clear your head of your daily stress and reflect on your life. Reflect on what makes you, you. Reflect on whether you are part of this rush, or whether you are against it. Old versus new, that’s what it is. You can spin and spin, like the world, with no second thought. You can miss hundreds, if not thousands, of opportunities that await you if you only take your eye away from your smart-phone. Get back in touch. Don’t miss out on life because of the material world. Don’t take for granted what you have, and what others around you have; and you know why?
Because it can be gone in a flash.
We judge everyone we know, including ourselves,
and sort them into categories, give them a label the moment we meet them, and that makes it
easier to focus on our dreams and the single part of ourselves relevant to those dreams. But we
are wrong. Nobody is who you think they are. Every single one of us lies to everyone, including
ourselves, about who we are. I charge you, figure out who you are, and figure out who other
people are, and figure out who all of you can be, and I promise you, you will be blown away.
