Life Downtown
Chapter 11;

I pulled up to my aunt and uncle's house. I parked on the street because their cars already took up the driveway. "Hello, anybody home?" I walked inside. "In the family room, Jennsy", replied my aunt. She always called me different nicknames. One was, Jennsy, the others were like, Jen, Jennalee, Jennaroo, or just Jenni. "Okay," I walked in. Everyone was sitting down either reading, or watching t.v. Joey was trying to hang stockings on the mantel. It was already December. It didn't start snowing yet, but it was supposed to tomorrow. My uncle and Joey left to get the tree, and my aunt and I went to pull out ornaments from the attic. My dad was still working. "I like this one..." she pointed to a picture of her and my mother when they were younger. "It was just like yesterday. It was Jimmy's first christmas." she said. Jimmy was my mom and aunt's younger brother. My mom and aunt were twins. They were about 8 when Jimmy was born. He died when he was 10 because he was hit by a car... "I miss them so much..." she started crying. I walked away to leave her alone. I went to my room, and called Nick. "Hey Nick", I started. "Jenna, hey." he didn't seem too happy. "Is everything okay? You don't seem like it..." I said. "Yeah everything's fine. Do you want to hang out tomorrow?" "Of course." I said. "Ha ha, great. You just made me 10 times better." he said. "What do you mean-" he hung up

Chapter 10;

We walked upstairs to Nick's room after we travelled inside. "Hand me the movie, babe." he said to me. I looked at the movies he had until I came across "Taken" and I handed it to him. "Here", I gave it. "Thanks Jenna", he replied. I sat down on the couch in his room. It was huge. Not just the couch, but the room. He had like a king size bed, and three dressers, and a huge flat screen. He joined me on the couch, as the movie started. Half way through the movie he finally put his arm around. It took him forever. I always thought Nick was shy around girls, but I guess he was breaking out of that stage. I put my head on him, and ate popcorn. "Boom!" I flinched. Nick had surround sound, and it was so scary. Every boom or bang was so loud, like in my ear. "Don't worry, I'm here to protect you", Nick said. He was looking into my eyes, and I felt his arm tighten on my shoulders. Awe. The movie ended and it was eight. I told him I had to go, so we walked downstairs and we moved to the door. "I had fun tonight", I said with a smile. "Me too. But to make it a wonderful night..." he grabbed my waist, and pulled me closer. We kissed. But it wasn't a quick peck, or a make-out session. But a long, romantic, kiss.

Chapter 9;

"...Okay see you soon." I was on my way to Ruby Tuesday's to meet Nick. I just got off the phone with him. "Oh na na, what's my-" rang my phone. It was the same number as yesterday. "Um, hello?" I asked. "Jenna Clark. You're beautiful." they said. By now I knew it was a woman. "Whoever the hell this is leave me alone and stop calling or I'll call the cops. I mean it." I tried to sound aggressive. I hung up the phone before they could answer. I pulled into the parking lot, and I saw Nick waiting outside. "It's like two degrees out here!" I told him. "I know, I just wanted to make sure you're okay!" he said. We walked inside holding hands and were seated at a booth by the window. The waitress took our orders, and we both went to the salad bar. I like Iceberg lettuce with eggs, bacon, blue cheese, and olives with Italian dressing. Nick got romaine lettuce with chic peas, olives, and parmesan cheese. No dressing. We sat down at our booth, and I decided to talk to him about Jess and Josh. "So... Jess and Josh did it." I came out. "Oh yeah, he told the guys. He seemed like, proud? Like he should win a trophy ha ha." "Jess seemed satisfied earlier. She was so against it the other day, too." I said. "I know right. Hey, want to come over tonight? I want to watch this new movie I got, want to watch it with me?" he asked. "What movie?" I never been to his house before. Well briefly, only when he forgot his phone, we went into the foyer. "Taken", Nick said. "It's supposed to be really good!" he said. "Okay, sure!" I always wanted to watch a movie with him. We gathered our things, and he paid the bill. I took my car and he took his. I followed him to his house, which was in a nice neighborhood. The houses were huge. We walked inside, to an empty house.

Chapter 8;

"Nick! Nick!" I ran to him. "Please tell me you didn't say anything! Please!" I begged. It was now Sunday, and my family as usual, always goes to church. Ever since my mom died, we go and take it more seriously. "Jenna, calm down. I just told him chicks don't like it when you pressure them..." he went silent. "What did he say?" I asked quietly. "He uh.. said that he's not pressuring him. He wants a little action after seven months. Can't blame him." he said. What?! Did he just agree? Wow. I walked away furious, and sat on the bench next to my brother, Joey. Nick came after me, but the row shortly filled up. After church was over, I went out to lunch to meet Jessica. I ignored Nick on my journey out. "Hey, Jess". "Hi." she said. "Is everything okay?" I asked. "Um, yeah. I guess." she said with a smirk. "Alright..." then she blurted out. "We did it." my mouth legit dropped open a foot. Um..."What?.." I said. "He was right after all. Seven months is long. I felt bad, and I finally agreed. It was great. We did-" I cut her off. "Wow Jess, way to go low." I stammered away. Like, she sobs that he's wrong, then she goes along because she can't stand to see him dump her. Ha ha, wow. It was still Sunday, and I was meeting Nick for dinner. I was still mad at him, but whatever. I straightened my hair, and threw on a Guess shirt with jeans and Uggs. I did my makeup, and I was out the door.

Chapter 7;

"Uh.. hello?" I didn't recognize the number. "Jenna." it sounded like a girl? Or a woman? "Who is this...?" I asked. "Jenna Clark." I paused. Who the hell is it? I thought. "Who..." they hung up. That was weird. I decided to ride my bike instead of walk. I got to the park at about 2:00. Right on time. Jess was sitting on a bench, so I walked over to her. "Hey Jess." she ran up and hugged me. She was  crying. "What happened?" I asked. "Don't tell anyone, kay?" she said. "I won't."  "It's Josh." Josh has been Jess's boyfriend for seven months now. "What about him..." I said. "He said that if I keep rejecting things from him, then he's going to break up with me", she started crying. Rejecting things? "Like what?" I asked. "He asked me to do it. And I said no. Repeatedly. Is it my fault I don't want to? Should I? I don't know what to do..." I honestly didn't know what to say. I felt bad. "No guy is worth pressure." I finally thought of something. "Should I... break up with Josh?" she asked. "I can't tell you that, but I think you know what's best." "You're right. I can't believe him. Ugh." We walked to the coffee shop and talked more about Josh. I had to leave to go home because it was getting close to dinner time. I walked into my aunt's house, and went to have chicken Parmesan. Nick called me after dinner, and we talked. I told him about Josh and Jess. "What do you think she should do..." I asked him. "I don't know but Josh is being a real dick right now. I think I'm going to talk to him." he said. "No wa-" he hung up. Wonderful.

Chapter 6;

"Sunny side up?" my aunt asked me. I always liked sunny side up best. I ate my eggs, then returned to my room, still ashamed of the fire. I fumbled up the stairs, and into my new room. It was green with white bed sheets, and a white comforter. It was nice looking. "I'm looking at, an angel. And believe when I say-" it was Nick. Nick Laurence. He's my boyfriend, and has been for about a month now. He's the best. His green eyes and his brown hair top it all off with his personality. We didn't do anything yet. I know, prudish you can say?  Well, he went on vacation for two weeks after two weeks we'd been dating. He just got back today... "Jenna! I just saw the paper. Are you okay?" I loved to hear his voice again. "I'm fine. We're all fine." I said. "Good, cause if anything ever happened to you... I don't know what I'd do." he said. "Awe, I missed you. Tons." I told him. "Well tomorrow, I think I might just have to take you to dinner. Care to say yes?" he asked. "Now how could I say no? I have to go take a shower. I'll call you later. Bye!" I said. "Bye baby", I could tell he was smiling. I jumped in the shower, and I ran out. I threw on a half shoulder flowy shirt from Joyce Leslie. I was going to meet Jessica at the park. I stepped outside when my phone rang.

Chapter 5;

"Oh na na, what's my name? Oh na na, what's my name-" my black berry was ringing like crazy ever since the paper came out. I looked over at the screen, and I had thirteen missed calls, and twenty-three new texts. Wonderful. I looked at one of them. It was from Jessica, my best friend. It said: 'Jenna! Answer me, please! What the hell happened?!'. I replied to her, and only her. The other messages just said stuff like, are you okay? Can you call back? What happened? I said to Jessica: 'Nothing. Just a house fire, everyone's okay.' I sent it. All the calls were from random people at school, so I didn't bother to call back. I walked down the stairs to the kitchen to find my aunt making breakfast. My uncle and dad were at work, and Joey followed behind me. It was a Saturday, so I didn't have plans. I kept eyeballing that newspaper. I read it about five times, as if it might change. But it didn't. Our home was gone, and it'd never be the same. All thanks to me, Jenna.

Ho ho ho
A merry Christmas to you

It's now December
The year surely flew.

The smell of Pine tree
Filters the air

At the star on the tree
Which we all glare.

The lights twinkle
On and off
Red, green, clear
As clear fills white's spot.

The breathe can be seen
Outside of the door

The white little flakes
Now begin to pour.

Gingerbread cookies
Set out at the table

As Santa's reindeer
Set out of their stable.

The presents lay out
The star shining so bright

As this wonderful holiday
Becomes the best Christmas night
