Corry’s Eyes

Chapter 2
“Well this is the kid’s play room.” Kate said bringing Jake into the colorful busy room.
“Kay, so what do I like do here?” Jake asked.
Is he serious Kate thought!!!
“Umm you like help the kids do projects and read books, and do what the nurses ask you to do!” She replied
“And you do this fun??? Come on what are you here for? Stealing? Drugs?” Jake asked in disbielf
“Uh no I didn’t do ANY thing wrong I like to help people in need!” Kate responded.
Jake gave her an uncertain
“Okay…” he replied
“Well what are you in here for!!” Kate said out of frustration and didn’t mean to say that, did it come across as rude? She didn’t mean for it to sound rude!
“I got into a fight with some kid at school, and I hurt him bad.” Jake said slowly. His eyes were soft and gentle Kate felt sorry for him, she knew he was sorry.
“Oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to-“
“It’s okay, I mean I’ve done it might as well live up to it” He said and took a seat  at the art table with 3 girls and started to doodle.
But Kate there wondering that there must be more to his story, he isn’t a bad guy but what about his past?

Intro
Kate has  always been a good girl, done her homework, got good grades, never got into any trouble, and volunteered at her local children’s hospital.one day when she’s watching the kids play in play time a nurse, Nancy comes to talk to her
“Um Kate, there’s a boy who has to volunteer here so he doesn’t have to go to jail, I wondering if you could show him the ropes and keep an eye on him?”
“Sure I would love to!” Kate replied
Nancy walked her over to the boy sitting with the police officer
“Jake this is Kate she train you here.” Nancy told him
Jake looked up straight into Kate’s eyes and nodded.
“Um hi I’m Kate!” She offered her hand and Jake shook it. Something about his eyes made Kate fill up with curiosity; she wanted to know more about him.
