Well, if the country is considering it, look through the outcome of it. Not hating, or anything like that, I don't want to get involve in a argument. Look at Britain, it's illegal to own guns here (well, maybe you can, only a few, I don't know) and we're still living (okay, maybe not) but we're not known for our gun violence. Each year around 30,000 people in the US are shot dead - around 2,573,000 people die in the US every year. This means that is you live in the US you have a 1.2% chance of dying due to a gunshot. In the UK this number is around 1,000, and around 512,500 die each year. So if you live in the UK you have a 0.2% chance of being shot dead. In the UK, you need to have a licence to buy a gun, and to get a licence you need a good reason - for example, a farmer would be allowed a shotgun licence because he'd need to keep predators away from his livestock. Banning guns wouldn't prevent shooting sprees, but they're bound to reduce them. The UK's last shooting spree was 3 years ago, the last one in the US was, what, 2 months ago?

I completely agree that people kill people, but guns still should be banned (in my opinion). The gun is the easiest way to kill somebody (especially in mass murders) and it requires the least intelligence. If I were to kill someone (and I speak of this in the most hypothetical of terms, because I would never, ever hurt anybody like that) I would use a gun, because it's really easy to access one and extremely easy to use and it's requires the least amount of audacity. Sticking a knife in someone would take a lot more than to shoot somebody. Therefore, I agree with everyone else saying that guns should be outlawed. Maybe if they were, a lot more people would still be alive.

Murder is not basically legal. It is very legal, but you can't arrest someone without evidence that they've done it. That's unjust, if they're not guilty. Saying we shouldn't ban guns because people are going to get them anyway is the SAME thing as saying murder should be legal because people are going to do it anyway. It shouldn't be, and they shouldn't be, and I know you probably love hunting or the constitution or something and you're definitely listening to your parents a little too much because you certainly don't have enough of an argument for these to be YOUR opinions. If that's human logic then I am fuucking ashamed to be a human. You are letting innocent people die because "they're going to do it anyway." At least if it was illegal there'd be consequences.
