Chapter 9- You'll Be
Safe, and So Will
You
"Bye everyone! Thank you again!" I said as
everyone walked out the door from my party. David walked
over to me and hugged me from behind and kissed the top of
my head. I sighed, as he turned me around. He kissed my
forehead, "I can't believe I have to leave
again". I looked at him and walked out the door and
sat on the steps. "Sky.. what's wrong?" He
said as he sat down next to me. "I'm afraid, Dave.
How do I know I'm safe?" I said as I looked into
his eyes. He grabbed me and pulled me on top of his lap. My
head fell into his chest as we both sighed. "Don't
worry Sky, you're safe".
He picked me up and carried me to his car. "So, I
leave tomorrow at noontime, that gives us the rest of the
night.. and morning. What should we do?" David said
with a smile on his face. "Let's go to the
beach!" I said with a giggle.
We ran onto the sand, holding hands. As we were running, we
took off our clothes into just our underwear. We kept
running and dove into the water. David picked me up and
threw me into the air. I hit the water with a splash. We
both were laughing uncontrollably. I tried to pick him up,
but ended up tipping us both over. "Okay,
okay. Enough!" I laughed out as David was splashing
me. I jumped onto his back and we walked back to Dave's
car. He took out two towels and some spare clothes. He took
my hand and walked down to the shore again. We made a fire
and I sat next to it as David set up a tent. When he was
finished he sat down beside me with a box of graham
crackers, hershey bars and marshmellows.
We made smores and joked around for another hour. It
must've been past midnight already. We walked into to
the tent and wrapped ourselves in blankets. "Night
baby, see you in the morning" David said as he kissed
me. "Goodnight" I said with a smile. "Love
you" He said as he hugged me and kissed me again.
---
The sun shined threw the top of the tent, straight into my
eyes. I mummbeled a little and rolled over. "Morning
Dave" I said as I opened my eyes. No answer. I sat up
and noticed he wasn't in the tent. "Dave?" I
said as I walked out of the tent. He wasn't out there
either. I walked back into the tent and grabbed my phone. 1
New Message. 'Didn't want to wake you up. Write
me soon. -Dave' Well that's strange, no 'I
love you' and no heart. Maybe he was just in a rush. I
checked the time it was sent. 7:00 A.M. Why did he leave at
7 if his flight was at 12? The airport is only 15 minutes
away and he said his bags were already packed.
I walked out of the tent and saw a group of guys playing
wiffle ball. "Hey, would any of you be willing to give
me a ride home? My boyfriend left for his flight
already" I said to them. "Damn! That kid haswo
girls and I don't even have one!" One of the guys
said to another. "Excuse me?" I said. "What
do you mean two
girls?"
