why hell0 there!

Hey! I’m Jessie! I’m a junior in high school and fifteen years of age! I love witty and respect everyone on here. Theres a lot more to me than a simple paragraph, but I’ll try to explain myself a little more:

I love to read, and if I find a great book, I’ll be finished in one day and will most likely read it again. I love my friends and spending time with them. I wish I could stay young forever, I never wanna grow up. I can get lost in my thoughts sometimes; you can say I’m in my own little world. I love shopping, watching movies, playing tennis, and dancing! I can be random at times. :). I take five dance classes a week and it's a huge part of my life. I love making witty friends, so please comment and talk to me!

Step Life

Chapter 28
All of the people at the blue, circular table were talking and laughing. The table consisted of four boys and three girls. Two seats were still open.
I noticed the first boy on the left of where I stood; he had smooth light brown hair, a sweet smile I saw as he laughed at what another boy said, and deep brown eyes. I tried not to stare, so I looked away quickly and my eyes landed on a girl to my right. She had silky, blonde hair—which I envied--, tan skin, and voluptuous figure—which I also envied.
Ashley cleared her throat and everyone at the table looked up at us—most eyes staring at me.
Ashley piped up, “Guys, this is my friend Ali; she’s really chill and today is her first day here.” And then Ashley sat down and I took the last seat next to her and next to the brown eyed boy.

Hello There Fellow Wittier!
I am looking for someone to read and review my story on Witty! It's called Step Life and you can find it under my quotes! I would really appreciate any feedback!

I will follow anyone who writes a review for me :)

Thank you!

Step Life

Chapter 27

“Ready?” Ashley asked me when I turned around. I nodded and we started walking down the hall, away from Kate.
Ashley started asking me more about my schedule. It turns out that we also have English together, but that was all. I was really hoping that we would have lunch together so I wouldn’t end up sitting alone in the bathroom or something.
While we were walking and talking, I noted a few things about my new school. The students were not very friendly, in fact, I found kids here are ruder than back in my old home town. Maybe it was just my school in Colorado, but I thought people were supposed to apologize when they run into you or hold the door open for you if you were one foot behind them.
I also noticed that the hallways were always crowded, even when there was only a minute left until the bell was going to ring. And the hallways were crowded with groups of people, small groups usually and sometimes a large group.
This school seemed clique-y, like you wouldn’t be able to go up to a group and introduce yourself without being judged and feeling completely humiliated. At my last school, I could go up to anyone (well almost anyone) and feel completely comfortable. Some “Goths” were friends with “Preps” and some “Skaters” were friends with “Jocks”.
We entered the cafeteria, which was big, blue, and crazy. There were random lines, groups of chatter-y kids, and loud noises coming from the kitchen area. All of the blue tables were round and placed all over the huge space.
Ashley and I started walking toward a man sitting alone at one of the tables. He had black hair and wore a pinstripe blue button down with a red tie. He was young and without a doubt gorgeous. Even from ten feet away, I could see his hazel eyes sparkle as he talked to a student. I suddenly remembered that this must be the teacher Ashley was telling me about…Mr. Mallen.
“He’s gorgeous!” I whispered to Ashley as we approached him, who was right by my side. She nodded her head enthusiastically and made a motion of fanning her face.
“Hello ladies, what can I do for you?” Mr. Mallen asked us, in a silk voice that made my legs feel like noodles.
I smiled dumbfounded while Ashley told him, “We’re here to sign in, and I’m Ashley Waters.” She put her manicured finger on his attendance list and slid it down until her name.
He raised his eyebrows, smiled, and then looked up at me, his eyes bore straight into mine. I tried to remember how to breathe and just stared at him like a maniac. Ashley bumped my ribs with her elbow, and I finally recalled my name.
“Uh, I’m Allison Rogers” I tried to smile, but just felt like an idiot. He looked on his clipboard and then put a check mark next to my name.
“Thank you ladies” As he said this he looked straight up to Ashley and she replied “no problem” and swear I saw her wink at him.
She quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me away. I was about to confront her about being a major flirt with a teacher, until Ashley took me to another table.

Step Life

Chapter 26

I could finally breathe calmly again, no longer in the baggy, ‘old hag’ attire I was before.
I confidently strode toward the way out of the bathroom when I heard someone say, “I really like your dress!”
I whipped around and came face to face with a strawberry blonde girl.
“Oh” I said surprised, “Thank you!” And the girl smiled. She seemed nice so I decided to try and make a new friend. “My names Ali and I’m kind of new here.”
The girl walked over toward me and I realized she was a few inches taller than me and she had freckles on her cheeks.
“Cool. I’m Ashley and a junior, so maybe I can help you find one of your classes. Where’s your first period?” She asked me.
I was so thankful that she was willing to help me because I hadn’t even looked at my schedule. I was so preoccupied with my whole outfit malfunction; I would have been freaking out trying to look for my classroom.
“Thank you so much!” I thanked Ashley while pulling out my schedule from the small pocket on my trusty Jansport. “Let’s see, I have Study Hall first with Mr. Mallen in the Café.”
She lit up and nearly jumped, “No way! I have Study Hall first period today too! I can walk you there if you want!”
“Wow, what are the odds?” I laughed, and with that we walked out of the bathroom together.
Ashley told me that she had to go to her locker and I followed her lead. She started telling me about Mr. Mallen and how he was apparently one of the hottest teachers, but how it sucked we only had him for Study Hall.
We walked over to her locker, and it was about three down from where Kate was standing with an even bigger group of friends. I pretended not to noticed, and turned my back on them so I could face Ashley. While Ashley grabbed and threw in various binders and folders from her locker, I overheard a snotty voice say, “Um, Is that your sister?”
I didn’t hear any response and then all of the sudden I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, confused.
         “Oh hey, Kate, what’s up?”
She stood in front of me and it seemed like she was trying to smile.
She cleared her throat and then asked me, “Wh-What happened to your dress?” She finally managed to choke out and she finished with a forced smile, showing her sparkly white teeth.
“Well,” I began, not even bothering to be sweet, “Since it isn’t spirit week and today is not ‘grandma’ day, I figured that I would turn that disgusting dress into something…better.” I snapped.
She ignored my bitter tone, “Well I’m so glad you could fix it! Though I don’t know what you are going to tell Rebecca because that was one of her mother’s dresses…who passed away.” She made her lips frown, but she seemed anything but unhappy.
I was shocked, I had no clue that these dresses had any significance to Rebecca and it surprised me that Kate even cared.
“Why didn’t you tell me that before?” I asked her madly. She just shrugged and told me she didn’t know.
I took a deep breath and turned around; I would just have to tell Rebecca how sorry I was. There is nothing more I would be able to do.

Step Life

Chapter 25

I look all about the unfamiliar faces until I noticed one that I did recognize.
Kate was standing by some lockers with Lindsey and two other girls I did not know. She was wearing a pink mini skirt and a tight black tank.
I marched over to her group. The girls, caught up in conversation, did not see me until I was right next to them. They all looked over at me, took in my outfit, and all started laughing except Kate. The girls quickly tried to suppress their laughter.
“Ali! Oh my gosh, I’m so so so sorry! Spirit week is next week! I’m such an idiot. Linds let me borrow a pair of extra clothes she had in her car.” Kate cried and looked sympathetically at me.
I just shook my head, “it’s fine.” And I walked away. I was going to fix this, somehow, I was.
I looked up at the clock connected to the wall, 7:12. I still had time.
I ran into the nearest classroom and grabbed a pair of scissors from a cup on the desk. The teacher looked at me questionably, but I just walked out. I then wandered the halls until I found a girls bathroom.
Once inside the very tiny stall by myself, I took a deep breath and then took the dress off. I had an idea of how to reinvent this, but I wasn’t really sure if it would work.
I cut about three feet off of the ankle-length dress, this way it would probably fall above my knees.
I cut the dress on its side’s seams up to the armpit, making a front and back part of the dress. I then cut into each side horizontally, making small little strips of fabric all the way down the edges.
I grabbed each side of the dress and began tying the corresponding strips from the front dress onto the back dress.
When I finished that, there was only one more adjustment left to do, I made the no cleavage neckline into a cute V-neck.
Exhausted from all the meticulous work, I threw the scissors down and slipped on the dress. It was ten times tighter than before, clinging to every part of my body until my mid-thigh…a bit shorter than I planned.
I unlocked the stall door and walked over to the mirror, it was better. Maybe even, dare I say, hot? The ties on either side of the dress exposed a little skin all the way down.

Step Life

Chapter 24

I reluctantly stood up and Beth asked me if I was okay. I just nodded and walked out into the aisle. I followed the other kids inside of the school. There were blue and gold colors plastered all over with posters of clubs, sports, important dates, and other random things.
All around me were people talking and walking around. One group of girls looked at me strangely. And I got a look from a few boys that had to be anything but positive.
I hid my head and just tried to find my way to the main office. After more stares and whispers, I finally walked my way into the glass doors inside of the lobby.
Behind the front desk was a blonde haired overweight woman in a too-tight pink dress. “Hi, how can I help you?” She asked me kindly and I watched her face change into a little bit of confusion as she took in my clothing.
“I’m Allison Rogers, I’m new and I came to get my schedule.” She nodded her head and handed me three papers.
“This is your schedule, a map of the school, and your locker information. Be in your first class before 7: 25. I hope you have a good first day, Allison.” I thanked her, walked out of the room, and glanced at a nearby clock. It read 6:58.
I decided the first thing to do was to find my locker. After reading the paper the woman gave me, I started wandering around the school.
I had no real sense of direction, but I did come across my locker and successfully opened it, though I had nothing to put inside it.
I stared at my open locker, wondering what I should do next when I overheard a group of girls whispering.
“Is that the new girl?” A low voice asked quickly.
“Yeah, I think so.” Responded a high pitched, but quiet voice
“Ew, what is she wearing?” Another voice asked.
I could not spend all day wearing this and being the new ‘weird girl’.
I closed my locker door and started walking down the hallway, but I did not hide my face this time. I noticed a lot of people staring at me and I noticed a lot of people were not staring at me. In a school this big I guessed not everyone really cared about a new girl.

Step Life

Chapter 23

I glanced around the lonely street while waiting for the big, yellow bus to arrive. I kept checking my phone and grew more impatient as five minutes became ten and then fifteen. I was starting to think the bus was not going to come at all.
Right as I was deciding to walk back up the street and to the house, the bus came crazily driving my way. I had to jump onto grassy ferns, trying to get out of its way.
The bus stopped abruptly and the doors were pushed aside aggressively by the bald, blue eyed bus driver. He did not even look my way remotely as I walked up the three normal steps of every bus.
I quickly skimmed over the seating; it looked as though every single one was filled. On the inside I started to panic, but I walked forward slowly, eyeing each row, trying to find an empty seat next to someone. The first one free was next to a boy wearing a skull tee shirt and baggy jeans listening to his iPod. I searched elsewhere hoping there was another seat somewhere.
Luckily I found one next to a girl with dark hair cut around her chin, with brown eyes and a friendly expression. I sat down next to her and the bus started moving.
“Hi, I’m Ali and I’m new here. What grade are you in?” I asked the dark haired girl.
She smiled as she turned to me and answered, “Hi, I’m Beth and I’m a sophomore. ” I noticed that she had bright blue braces and was wearing a cute red top with sequence.
I was about to tell her it was nice to meet her until I caught sight of my floral clothing. I looked back at her outfit. It did not resemble an old person’s look in anyway. I started looking all around the bus and noticed that no one was wearing anything I would consider ‘granny like’ except one strange girl.
“Um, is this week spirit week?” I asked the girl, who I remembered was named Beth.
She gave me a questionable look before shaking her head and responding, “Um, no. Did you think it was? Because I don’t think your dress looks very…spirit like anyway.”
I didn’t respond to Beth. It wasn’t spirit week and I was going into school dressed like some weirdo. I started breathing very fast, trying to come up with some solution to fix this mess!
But I came up blank, I couldn’t call my dad at work, I’m not really supposed to unless it’s of utter importance. And I didn’t have Nancy’s number.
I put my head in my hands and stayed like that until the bus stopped again, and when I heard people rising and zipping backpacks.
