Hey there! If you're reading this, it looks like you've stumbled upon what's basically my high school diary. It's been many years since I wrote the quotes on here and it's almost surreal to think about how much has changed since then.

Looking back, I wish I could tell myself that I was on to something whenever I hopefully thought about my future. I'd tell younger me that I'm proud of her for all the hard work she's put in and that it'll all be worth the effort someday, many of the things she dreamed of achieving have turned out great thanks to that. I'd tell her that she definitely deserves to be around people who love and appreciate her, just like her best friends did (and still do!). And I'd also say that I know she struggles a lot with her feelings for boys who never seem to like her back, but that she'll meet a great guy when the time is right. It won't always be easy, but she'll get the relationship she's always dreamed of having, and he'll be cuter than all her other crushes even if it's hard for her to imagine!

High school had its ups and downs, now that I'm older I look back on the fun memories with friends and the funny events that always seemed to happen around campus. But I never really wish I could go back to it, because just as I suspected back then, there's so much more out there in the world and I had only experienced a small sliver of what life had to offer. I wish I could give my younger self a big hug, buy her ice cream and reassure her everything will be okay! I think if she met me she'd admire me very much and be amazed by all the things she's accomplished since her Witty days. If you're a high schooler reading this, I hope you can somehow believe your future self would want to do the same for you right now, too. She loves you very much and believes in you more than you'd ever know!

I hope you enjoy reading through my quotes! The early 2010s were definitely a fun time to be a teenager!

I knew a girl who had AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS handwriting, and she's one of the most brilliant people I've ever known.

Point disproven.

Ditto for many, many high schoolers, especially the ones that obnoxiously make out in the middle of the hallway. "I love him so much he's my boo!" "Shut up, you just met him last week. And I don't know about you, but I actually have a class to get to, so please, get out of my way." -.-

It is one of the coolest things ever in my mind lol. I felt like I had to post this here, because everyone on here is always talking about how wittians make better friends than the people we know in real life :D

One time my grandpa was taking this giant consumer survey that asked questions about literally every household item. The first question under the toilet paper category was, "Do you use it?" He was so tempted to answer "no" just to mess with the survey company...

Some of these sound like thoughts I've had about myself... especially the academic ones. "They're in 6 AP classes and I'm only in 5. ONLY in 5." "She does this and that and I'm just on the debate team." It all ties in to my fears about college acceptances more than it does about direct self-worth, because I don't have a low self-esteem or anything per se, but I'm honestly kind of nervous about whether I'll be accepted to the schools I want to go to...

I'm glad you understand. But honestly, i don't think anyone really gets what im going through. My own mother can't support me and tell me that she's proud of me. She compares me to EVERYONE. My quote was about one girl specifically and everytime my mom compares me to that one specific girl, a part of me breaks. Anyone but that ONE girl. I just wish she saw that i do a lot. I'm a sophomore in high school and i'm only allowed to take 2 AP. i do a sport, i play an instrument, i study everyday, i take private math classes, i dance, and i do so much. but no one appreciates it. I'm so sick of trying to make people proud of me because they always find another way to insult me....

"I'm sorry that you think you were 'just being nice' when you were flirting. It's not me 'being insecure' its messed up that you'd say that."

^ THIS.
I literally just had a guy the other day claiming he was only being "friendly" even though it was very clear to both of us that he had been leading me on the entire time. I don't know, but personally, I don't consider the way he treated me to be very "friendly" at all.
People like that disgust me.

That's what I was thinking. But on another note, I feel like this guy's kind of a jerk. Take a step back and think for a second. Why exactly are you friends with this kid? What about him makes him so great to be around that you really care this much about your "friendship"? I don't mean to sound harsh here, it's just that... ugh, that last paragraph. He's doing those things and he's not dating you and here you are telling us Witty people that it's "playing with [your] emotions." Hello!!! He should know better than to do that. You just... don't do that. You don't. Once you realize you've crossed the friendly/flirty line with a girl you have no intentions of dating, you're supposed to stop. Either he hasn't realized what he's doing, or he has and doesn't care. Is he like this with anyone else? Maybe he's just generally flirtatious (and maybe even a bit player-ish). Does he know that this bothers you? Eh, personally, I don't like it. If you're okay with it then that's fine - but it really sounds like you're not. And personally, I don't like the way he's treating you, at all. I just don't.
