Prologue
How many people want to move to another state, on the other side of the country, in the middle of their junior year? Not me. But, that's what was happening. I was moving from the small cold city of Austin, Michigan to the hot and sunny Central Valley, where it is dessert temperatures almost all year round. I didn't want to get up and move. Not when I was leaving so much behind. I didn't wanna leave my amazing boyfriend or my fantastic friends. Mom is calling my name, I have to finish packing. The moving trucks are going to be here soon, until next time.

I clicked out of my blog and close my macbook slipping it back into it's case. I left it on my bed along ith the rest of my carry ons and finished packing my clothes. I was leaving to California tomorrow morning. I had gotten caught smoking w3eed on school grounds and when my dad found out he took my mother to court for full custody of me.... He won. I was gonna miss my mom, the snow, and all my friends. I had to start over in a state where nobody knew me, which was a good thing. But I didn't know anybody, which was a horrible thing. I continued packing up my clothes. I left behind most of my heavy duty things not expecting to need them in a place where it's at least 70 degrees, usually more, all year round. My dad said he was going to buy me more clothes when I got there. I knew he was trying to bribe me with brand new stuff to make me forget he was the bad guy, it wasn't working though.
Don't get me wrong, my dad has money. He was always paying for the sports I did. But, that was all he did from the time he left when I was 10 until now. I just turned 16 and he hasn't been involved in my life. He missed out on all my cheer competitions, when my team won worlds 2 years ago he didn't even make plans to come out to Orlando to see me. My mom worked her butt off just to travel with me all those times. I even pitched in money from my job to get her to see me. But, I had no choice. In 15 hours I would be on a plane to California. There was nothing that could stop it. A few minutes later my phone went off, a brand new iphone 5s courtsey of my dad.
"Come ready for a long day. California schools start in a week. Your step mom and I are gonna take you car shopping and clothes shopping. Love you. See you when you land - Tom.
I smiled at the text but couldn't help but feel sad. My mom came into my room a few minutes later. I took one look at her and burst into tears. She held me while I cried. "It's okay sweetie," she said, "You'll be back here in 3 months for my wedding. I promise it will fly by." She smiled and kissed my forehead. My mom was getting married in a few months to a guy named Jeff. I loved Jeff and I was happy he was gonna stay with my mom while I was gone. "Jeff is taking us out to dinner in half an hour, get ready princess." She said as she got up and left the room.
I haven't written in so long!! Slow intro but I swear you're gonna love this book.
