You make such a good point. I guess just because it happens so frequently there, like the way people starve to death in third-world countries, that the media just doesn't care to report it. But in the United States? The mass murder of 20 young children and six adults is not common so it's heartwrenching.
But you're right. Tragedies like the shooting in Newtown occurs everywhere all the time but we don't focus enough on them, if at all.
It's also giving righteous people access to a means of defending the innocent. If a criminals points a pistol at someone and threatens the person in a parking lot and a gun-carrying, law-abiding bystander sees, and the criminals fires and kills the original target and decides to go on a shooting rampage, the law-abiding bystander can detain the criminal by shooting at him and stopping the rampage. Guns have one purpose: to kill. Whether it is murder, hunting, or defense, that's up to the gun-owner, not the firearm itself.
All right. Best of luck detaining a gunman with your bare hands. The gunman will always beat you there. Bad guys with guns are stopped by good guys with guns. There's just no way to fight firearms with something petty like a knife or your fists. Your 'own defense' will be feeble and incomparable to the perpetrator's weapon.
Every country is different. Your country is not the same as mine. IMMENSELY different geographical factors must be taken into account. For example, bordering countries. There's a huge issue with the Mexican drug cartel. Outlaw firearms and I'm sure someone will find a way to send it over the border or even make their own (actually you can very easily make your own; my father is doing the same, fitting to legal standards of course). People can make their own explosives, too, which are equally as devastating. Your argument is unfortunately fallacious.
The problem with making it harder to get a gun is that good people won't have a means to protect themselves from the criminals who don't follow the law anyway and are going to get a gun anyway, and given the way that people can smuggle pounds and pounds of illicit substances like cocaine from other countries and synthesize crystal meth, criminals WILL find a way to get their hands on firearms and explosives. It was a gun that killed the gunman, after all, even if it was Adam who killed himself.
His brother is quoted to have said that his brother suffered from a personality disorder (though it was not specified which one) and being "somewhat autistic."
No, actually, the gunman would more appropriately be named a monster, not a human. Why the heck would any alleged all-loving, omniscient deity create a man when this deity knows this man will murder young children? How can you call life precious if you believe in an eternal afterlife of bliss when the world as we know it is so terrible? Would you call Adolf 's life precious? He killed nine million people, a man created in god's supposed image. "Either God can do nothing to stop catastrophes like this, or he doesn't care to, or he doesn't exist. God is either impotent, evil, or imaginary. Take your pick, and choose wisely."
It was completely his fault. I wish I believed in hell so I could damn the to burn there for all eternity. I wish someone else got to pull the trigger on him so he couldn't get the satisfaction of murdering twenty children and then killing himself. Or maybe I wish he had been detained and sentenced to life imprisonment with a bunch of other felons who really hate people who murder kids.
It was a few days after his sixth birthday. He turned six on dec 8th. You have to understand when the schlock hits you it can be difficult to think straight. I'm sorry
The child victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting were either six or seven years old, sixteen of them being 6 and four of them being 7. No five-year-olds were murdered in the shooting.
Germany's entire national football team especially Mats Hummels, Manuel Neuer, Mario Gomez, Ron-Robert Zieler, Lars & Sven Bender, and Holger Badstuber, and also let's say Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Álvaro Morata, Jose Callejon, Sergio Ramos, Jesús Navas, Claudio Marchisio, ... Jeeze the list goes on and on. Professional athletes are sexy.
It's also released during , along with vasopressin (which has a very similar structure to oxytocin) and both lead to attachment and are thus known as the cuddle chemicals. This is why (at least with , especially female ) leads to attachment and, consequently, why "friends with benefits" rarely works out.
Thank youuuu all the left-leaning liberals on my dashboard on Tumblr (the very people who believe in respecting differing beliefs and equality for people regardless of their gender, sexual identity, race, personal beliefs, etc) were going CRAZY and talking extreme on conservatives the night of the election. It was very sad and hypocritical.
The Bible has nothing to do with the United States government. It's in the First Amendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment religion, or prohibit the free exercise thereof." You can't write laws based on a holy text written by iron-age men who were creating answers to sentient man's biggest questions without actually finding said answers. The Bible also says the village is allowed to stone a boy to death if he disobeys his father. Shall we make that law, too? Or can we forget the Bible and progress forward as an intellectual society of freethinkers?
oh my goodness someone friggin used this as a source on Yahoo Answers from Witty Profiles!

Lol and there's a difference between liking someone/a band for their music and liking them because they're beautiful. I don't see most people who obsess over One Direction posting anything about how beautiful their music is or awe-inspiring their lyrics are. Just how "hot" they are. Bassnectar, Nightwish, Anberlin, Beats Antique, Dave Matthews, Eminem, and Jeremy Soule forever.
Just say thank you and be appreciative and try not to be paranoid about the possibility that they're lying to make you feel good about yourself and internally laughing as your confidence rises as a result of their deceitful façade.
But you're right. Tragedies like the shooting in Newtown occurs everywhere all the time but we don't focus enough on them, if at all.
