“Bye mom, love you!” I shouted back behind me as I raced out the door to go to school. I was going to be late if I didn’t make it into homeroom within the next 15 minutes.
I hustled into homeroom just as the bell rang, receiving a disapproving look from the teacher and a smirk from Drew. I just rolled my eyes at him and took my seat as the announcements came on.
Nothing exciting was told, just reminder dates for tryouts for basketball, football, and cheerleading. None of which I would be doing.
I casually strolled into history, hoping that Drew wasn’t already in there, because then I’d have the awkward choice of sitting next to him or not. I had barely stepped foot in when I heard, “Faith, over here!” I looked up to see Drew smiling at me pointing to a desk next to him. I could feel a subtle blush rising in my cheeks and I did everything I could to not smile. I sat down next to him and pulled out my signed paper, saying I agreed to all the homework and dumb stuff like that.
“Where’s your paper?” I questioned him, he didn’t seem to have it.
“What paper- oh, that paper.” He said looking over at the one I was waving around in my hand. “Umm..” he said rifling through his papers, “right here.” He pulled it out with an accomplished grin across his face, I couldn’t help but let out a little giggle.
“What is it, do I have something on my face?” His smile instantly vanished concerned that his perfect face might have something on it. I just shook my head in response; he was interesting that was for sure.
“Pass all papers forwards please.” Mr.Tara said. We all handed forward our papers. The rest of class was handing out textbooks, and then we were given the rest of the time to ourselves.
“So, Faith,” here we go. “Are you trying out for any sports?”
                “I don’t cheer; I can’t even do a cartwheel.”
“What a shame, I was hoping I would have my own personal cheerleader.”
“So you’re trying out for football? How are you so sure you’ll get on the team?”
“Yes and cause I’m good.” He was so full of himself.
                “We’ll see about that.”
“Don’t believe me?” I shook my head. “Let’s make a bet. You try out for the cheerleading team, I try out for the football team. If you make it I don’t, you can quit. But if I make it you have to stay on and cheer for me.”
“What kind of bet is that? I won’t make the team anyways so it doesn’t matter.”
“I’m friends with the head cheerleader; you’d be surprised how persuasive I can be.” He winked at me.
“Sure, it’s a bet.” We shook on it. I doubt he could get me on that team, those girls barely even knew I existed, on the other hand, if he could than I was in trouble. I had no doubt he would make the football team.
“See you in health.” He smiled and grabbed his books and headed for the door. I couldn’t help but let out a tiny smile too, this boy was starting to prove himself worthy.

I barely even noticed when I pulled in the driveway I was so confused in my thoughts. I was lucky I made it home safely.
I walked in the door smelling dinner in the makings. I had barely made it two steps when my mom ran in and engulfed me in a hug.
“I’m so glad you hung out with Stacey. Who’s this Drew sending you flowers?” when she stepped away I could see tears sparkling in her eyes. My chest swelled with happiness, glad that I made my mom genuinely happy finally. And even more making myself feel happier, finally thinking of something than just Evan all the time.
“Me too. He’s a kid from school. It was just a joke, I didn’t think that he was really going to send me flowers.” I couldn’t actually tell her what was going on. I myself didn’t actually know.
“Well I’m glad that you are finally making some friends.”
“Yeah, me too.” I mumbled out, undecipherable to anyone.
“What did you say?”  I didn’t mean for her to hear.
                “Nothing.”
“Oh, okay. Well dinner will be ready in about a half hour. Your dad has a meeting that he has to be at for 5:30.”
“Okay.” It was already 4:30? Jeeze, I had been gone for a while. At least I didn’t have a lot of homework to. Just some forms to fill out.
“Hey mom, where are those flowers?” I called down to her halfway up the stairs.
“Oh, they’re in a vase in your room.”
“Thanks.” I hurried up the stairs to see what he had sent me. I was surprised to find a whole half a dozen of roses.
I settled down on my bed and put on some tunes to fill out my forms to.
“Faith dinner! My mom called up as soon as I filled out the last form and just as my phone beeped. I looked down at it to see that I had a text from some number I didn’t recognize. I clicked open and read the text.

9788682277: Did you get my flowers? (;

So it was Drew. I quickly added him into my contacts and responded with “You’re one of a kind” before I ran down to dinner.

“So what do you think of that new kid Drew?”  Stacey questioned me as we sipped on our smoothies. Mine was delicious chocolate covered strawberry and Stacey had orange pineapple banana.
                “You would ask.” I chuckled.
“What do you mean, ‘you would ask’?”
“I’ve had quite an interesting time with him. He sat next to me in my history class and was texting Chad. I happened to look over to see that they were talking about me. Chad said that I was a loser with a dead boyfriend and Drew said ‘lmao’ in all caps.” I don’t think that’s what she meant when she asked me what I thought about him, but it’s what came to mind.
“Jeeze. I thought he was pretty cute and that he seemed pretty nice.”
“Well, that’s the other thing. He is nice too. He went and tried to get all buddy buddy with me after. And then I told him that if he wanted us to be friends he had to prove himself worthy. All he said to that was that it was going to be interesting. Which I totally agree to.” I finished a small smile on my face.
“Oh My God! The new cute kid has the hots for you! You’re so lucky!” I smiled even bigger. This day was actually going even better than I expected. It kinda worked out better hanging with Stacey and having this… whatever you want to call it with Drew. It helped me to take my mind of Evan. Not completely of course, not even close; but enough to stop my tears and moping.
“Ha, maybe. But I highly doubt that. He probably just wants to be friends at most; if that even. Who knows? Maybe it was all a joke today and he was just pretending that he wanted to be my friend for the first day. You saw him, he’s with the populars.”
“Yeah,” Stacey shrugged, “but some people have more depth to them then it seems. Not all popular good looking people are shallow.”
“So far you’re the only one I know, and that’s because you became friends with me.” Stacey used to be one of the it girls. She was really pretty, with full brown hair that seemed to glow, and sparkling emerald eyes. One day during freshman year we suddenly became friends. Neither of us remembers why, but I’m glad we did.
“Well there can always be another one.” Slurping down the rest of her smoothie.
“I suppose.” Sucking the last drops out of mine also.
“Cheer up. I bet you guys are gonna be lovers. Evan would have wanted you to be happy. You know it.” Ouch, that stung. But I guess she was right. He would want me to be happy. He would want me to open my heart up to other boys and get married someday and have a family. The only problem was, at the moment, he was the only one that I wanted it with.
                “Yeah, I guess.”
“Smile it’s good for you. Catch you later though, I gotta go.” She smiled at me and I smiled back. Somehow Stacey could always find a way to make me smile. I guess that’s what best friends are best at.
“Bye, see you tomorrow.” I called to her as she walked out the door.

“Meet me at the front doors at the end of the day.” Stacey quickly told me as we all piled out of the classroom. Me, trying my best to not get any position where I would have to talk to Drew.
“Okay.” I headed up the stairs to go back to my last class, English.
English was my all time favorite subject. I love reading and writing. People always ask me how I can like reading; it’s so boring. But when I read I get sucked in and it takes me to someone else’s life and for a while I don’t have to worry about anything. I had gotten into honors English, which wasn’t much of a surprise to me. What was a surprise was that Drew happened to get in too.
“Faith! Another class together I see. Come sit next to me.” He patted the desk next to him, which sadly I had to go to because it was the only seat left open in the room. I wouldn’t be surprised if I found out that he had been telling people that the seat was taken.
                “You’re a really persistent guy aren’t you?”
“You bet. I couldn’t let a girl like you mad at me.” He had this killer smile that couldn’t help but daze me for a moment.
“Well, if you really want us to be friends, you’re going to have to prove yourself worthy.”I smirked at him and opened my book. I waited for him to say something, but he didn’t; surprising me. This was the first time he had ever not kept talking.
“This term we are going to spend mostly reading and writing so I can see what your styles are. Then we will spend some time studying Shakespeare and poetry. I can see most of you already have books with you, continue reading them. If you don’t there is paper over there which you can start writing a short story with.
“This is going to be interesting.” I snapped my head up and looked over to Drew who looked as if he had said nothing, but I knew he had just spoken. I turned back to my book; I couldn’t help but let out a little smile. When I looked at Drew out of the corner of my eye, I could see that he couldn’t help but smile either. You’re right Drew, this is going to be interesting.

sorry it's super shortt, but it's where i wanted to end the chapter.. let me know how you guys like itt. thaanks(:

     “Faith Tora?”
     “Here.” I called out.
“Andrew Piers?” It must have been a new kid. I’d never heard the name before.
“Call me Drew.” I looked around, trying to match a face to the voice and then I found him. He was in the back of the room at the table with all the ‘it’ girls. Go figure. He was built up like a football player. With wavy brown hair similar to mine. He caught me staring and did a little head nod thing. Damn it. He wasn’t supposed to see me. It caused everyone at the table to look over at me. They started whispering something to each other then giggled and turned away. I just rolled my eyes and focused my attention back to the front of the room.
All I wanted was to pass senior year and graduate. I didn’t need any new friends or a boyfriend. My heart was still torn from Evan’s passing.
The bell rang for first period and there was a shuffling of papers and a scraping of desks. I looked down at my schedule. World history. Gross. My least favorite subject. I searched the room for the most isolated seat; not in the mood to socialize at the moment. I put my head down on my desk, exhausted form not getting enough sleep.
“Is this seat taken?” I heard a masculine voice and raised my head up to see who it was. I suspected that it was just Jake or Matt, but surprised to find that it was the new kid Andrew.
“Uh, no.” I hadn’t expected him to sit with me; he was already part of the popular group, why would a miniscule unimportant person like me matter?
“Drew Piers.” He said sticking his hand out.
“Faith.” I said, grabbing his hand and lightly shaking.
     “Nice to meet you Faith.”
“Nice to meet you too, Drew.” I looked around the classroom trying to find if this was all like a prank on me or something. But to my surprise there were no smirking or giggling girls. I took a second glance to find that there were no popular people in here. So that’s how he ended up next to me.
“I’ll grab you one.” Drew said.
“Huh?” I had no idea what he was talking about.
“A notebook. Mr. Tara just told us all to go up and get one.” He gave me a half grin and cocked his head to one side. Obviously I had zoned out. Before I could answer he turned around and headed up to the front of the room to grab us two notebooks.
“Thanks.” I said tossing him a little smile.
“No probs.” He said returning the smile. I couldn’t figure out this boy. He was hanging out with the populars and then he just decided to come and be nice to a loser like me. Well he could cross off his one good deed for the day.
I felt something vibrating from the side of me. I glanced over out of the corner of my eye at Drew. Without removing his eyes from Mr. Tara he slid his phone out of his pocket and slyly took a look at it.

Chad: hey bro! what’s good?
Me: boring history, next to that chick Faith.

I was ‘that chick’? Didn’t that make me feel great? It vibrated again.

Chad: you mean the loser with the dead boyfriend?
Me: LMAO.

He thought it was funny I had a dead boyfriend? He was unbelievable. It was all just a prank I should have known. I felt heat up and a lump form in my throat. I wasn’t going to cry though. What senior cried on their first day back to school? No, I had to stay strong. I had to show them what they were missing.
I carefully ripped a page out from my notebook and grabbed one of my freshly sharpened pencils.

heey, sorry it took me so long to post. hope you like it(: feedback!  comments/faves pleease! thaanks(:

Beep! Beep! Beep!
I slammed my hand around blindly on my nightstand until my alarm clock went off. I wasn’t used to having to wake up this early. The earliest I had gotten up all summer was 10. Summer. Then I remembered everything that had happened; and it all came crashing down on me and I had to push back the tears; like I had to every morning. I always hoped that I would wake up and it was just a bad dream.
“Uggh.” I groaned as I forced myself to roll out of bed and into the bathroom to take a shower. I shampooed, and then shaved, nicking my knee in the process. Then I finished conditioning my hair and washed up my body with the new body wash my mom had bought me. It smelled pretty good I had to admit.
After I had dried off, I put on my new clothes that I had layed out across my chair. A new pair of jean shorts, it was supposed to get really hot today, and a cute tank top layered with a cami. I knew I had to at least try to seem a little more up to par, for my family at the least. I could see how my mom felt terrible and she didn’t know what to do. It was killing me on the outside, but it was time for me to put on my fake smile and prepare my fake laugh; and try not to let those tears always brimming in my eyes spill over.
I dried and straightened my hair, applied make-up, and brushed my teeth. Then I sprayed on some of my Victoria’s Secret perfume and put on my some of my new jewelry and ran downstairs.
“Bye mom, love you.” I said grabbing my purse and headed out the door.
“Have a great day honey!” She said, a surprised look on her face, with a smile slowly spreading across it.
I hopped into my car and turned my radio on. I wasn’t that nervous for school, what was there to be nervous about? Except for Evan not being there of course.
I parked in the closest spot I could find, which wasn’t very close, I was a little late. I walked up to the doors and placed my hand on the cold metal.
The words, “I love you Faith; never forget it.” , played over in my head. “I love you Evan; forever.” I whispered out. And with that I opened the door and stepped into my first day of senior year.

could i have some more feedback pleease? i want to know what you guys think faves & comments are greatly apprecitaed(: thaanks;*
