Second Chance Chapter 2:
Today was the first day of school, I was up at the crack of dawn so excited to see all my friends again after the summer. I hopped out of bed and took a 5 minute shower, throwing on a white shirt, a black skirt and a black pair of boots, I did my make up the same way I always did putting on concealer, powder, black eyeliner, and mascara, then I quickly grabbed a blueberry muffin, my car keys, my bag, kissed my aunt goodbye, and ran out the door where Alyson, John, and Kevin, were waiting in the car. As we drove to school Alyson and John were talking about how excited they were for school. "I can't wait to start my freshman year!" said Alyson in her usual high pitched voice. "haha I can tell just don't get shoved into a locker," said John jokingly knowing that everyone loved Alyson since she was my sister. "Dylan, are you excited to see Jack? You haven't seen him, like all summer!" said Alyson. "I'm really excited to see him, I miss him so much," I said as we pulled into the school's parking lot. Everyone jumped out of the car while I grabbed my bag and reached for my phone to see that I had 12 new text messages this morning. 5 from Michelle, 2 from Lauren, 1 from Tori, 3 from Jack, and 1 from Alyson.
Michelle's text messages:
Dylan what time are you getting to school ?
What are you wearing?
Have you talked to Jack lately?
When are you gonna get here?
Text me back s!ut I miss you!

It was 7:35 when I got to school, I had about 25 minutes to socialize and catch up with my friends that is, if I could find them. I ran into Maureen, Mary, Chantal, Clare, Jason, and Spencer on my way to find Michelle, Lauren and Tori. "Hey guys I missed you all so much!" I said while I gave everyone a hug. "We missed you so much Dylan you can't be gone all summer anymore, k?" laughed Maureen as everybody else agreed. It was about 7:45 when I finally stopped talking to them all. Spencer walked with me to find Jack since they were best friends. "You know Jack missed you a lot when you were gone Dylan," said Spencer as we walked up the stairs. "I know I missed him a lot too," I said looking down the hallway and seeing Jack staring at me with his gorgeous blue eyes and sandy blonde hair tossed to the side, I almost forgot what he looked like it had been so long. He ran towards me and kissed me. I missed his soft lips against mine. "Hello gorgeous," he said when he pulled away. I giggled as he grabbed my hand and walked me over to see Michelle, Lauren, and Tori. "Damn Dyl you look hot!" said Michelle as she gave me a giant bear hug, god I missed her so much! I hugged Lauren, and Tori as we walked into class right before the bell rang, still holding Jack's hand.

I was 18 when I was in a drunk driving accident.
But here's what happened before the accident that completely altered my life.
My name is Dylan, yes I am a girl, I have wavy dirty blonde hair, and hazel eyes that change to a deep blue every now and then. I live in Florida with my aunt Sarah, my sister Alyson, and my two cousins John and Kevin. We all go to the same high school, Alyson is going to be a freshman, John is going to be a sophomore, and Kevin and I are going to be juniors this year. When I was 5 and Alyson was 3 our parents were killed in a plane crash. My mom was a dancer and my dad was a photographer, and although they had very different jobs they always travelled together. I remember them better than Alyson did but she still misses them the same. After the plane crash I promised that I would follow in my mother's footsteps and become a dancer just like her. I have the same rhythm and grace as my mother did and I have the same teacher as she did when she was 17 as well. Kaylie is my dance instructor, she taught me everything she had taught my mom when she was in high school. Oh how I love school, I get to see my 3 best friends, Michelle, Lauren, and Tori, my amazing boyfriend Jack who I have been dating for almost 2 years now and all my other close friends who I rarely see over the summer.
