She was taking her family to the city because her two little girls had never been that far away from Connecticut. They arrived there, got off the train, & immediately got on the subway. The family of four sat down and got comfortable when my teacher's 4 year old said, "Are we vanilla people? And is he Chocolate?," looking at an African American man. Oh boy, was all my teacher could think of as she sat there embarrassed. The man just laughed and said,

"Yeah, but they all taste good."
