"Start a revolution. Stop hating your body." is an attempt to raise awareness about the vast array of problems that stem from body consciousness and lack of esteem including, but not limited to: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, body dysmorphic disorder, binge eating disorder, depression, and general dissatisfaction. Furthermore we acknowledge that society today has constructed a multi-billion dollar industry designed to perpetuate the desire for unattainable beauty while capitalizing on products for self-improvement. Our mission is to end corporate dominance over body esteem. Participants in "Start a revolution" realize that our bodies are nothing to be ashamed of and we shouldn't have to spend our lives fixing what society tells us is inadequate. All that we ask is that you wear the shirt with pride and refuse to feel ashamed of your body. Additionally, we hope that you will send us a photograph of your beautiful self in your shirt. (Digital photos can be sent to TheBodyRevolution@yahoo.com, or post it here on facebook; if you don't have a digital camera contact one of the founders to give us a hard copy.) We demand an end to the corporate monopolization of body aesthetic standards. You are not the number on the tag of your clothing.
