Somehow, someway, we both got our work done and we were
able to keep each other happy with occasional breaks for kisses
and smiles. I shut my laptop and looked up at his smiling
face.
"I have a
question."
"And it would be?. .
."
"When you said you had bad experiences with girls Saturday
morning, was this the reason?"
He nodded. "Yeah,
I’m not very good at keeping secrets from people I care
about, and I hate lying. That’s one reason I’m glad
you now know about me. I don’t have to lie to
you."
That made me happy inside and I kissed him for the thousandth
time tonight. "I’m glad. When do you have to go
home?"
He shrugged.
"It’s only 8:00. What did you have in
mind?"
"Who says I had something in
mind?"
"I don’t know,
but I think you do."
I smiled. "Wanna go
swimming?"
"If you don’t
get another headache."
"That wasn’t my
fault. And now we know why I was getting them."
"I know. I
don’t have a bathing suit though."
"I’ve got you covered." I pulled him down the
hall to Zagger’s room. What a mess! I went to his dresser
and rummaged through his clothes until I found a pair of swim
trunks. I took longer than necessary to look for them because I
loved the feeling of Mason’s hands on my waist from behind.
Now I know what all the girls mean when I read quotes about
wanting a guy to hold them from behind. It was amazing.
"You sure Zag
won’t kill me if I use these?"
I shook my
head and handed them to him. "He won’t even know.
I’ll wash them and put them away before he comes home
again." I went back to my room and into my closet to change
into a swimming suit. I didn’t know which one I should
wear, so I had to search through them all. I decided on a plain
black tankini and quickly changed. I pulled my hair up and had to
take a double look in the mirror.
I looked different. What
was it? I look so much happier than I normally do, and
there’s a slight glow beaming around my face. I smiled at
myself. I guess love really does make you look better! I’ll
have to keep that in mind from now on.
I grabbed a
couple of towels on my way out of my bathroom and headed
downstairs. Mason wasn’t in the house, so I went outside
and found him doing laps in the pool. Dang, I wanted to check him
out! I was not disappointed the last time we swam. His body is
amazing! Who needs Taylor Lautner to be a werewolf when my Mason
had an eight pack just like his? And he was a real werewolf! Not
some actor! Sigh, I really am living a dream!
He probably knew I was
out here with him, but he didn’t stop until he finished two
more laps. I tossed our towels on a chair and waited on the edge
of the pool with my legs dangling in the water. He was pretty
fast, so I didn’t have to wait very long.
He swam
over and waded in front of me. "You coming in?"
"Of course I am, I
was just waiting till you
finished."
"I’m done." He put his
arms around me and gently pulled me off the wall and into the
water.
"Mr. Nice Guy
today?"
"Well you didn’t provoke me, so I decided I’d
keep my wild side under control and be nice. Do you want me to be
Mr. Weirdo?"
"No, I like Mr. Nice
Guy." And I liked how he kept his arms around me and kept me
from going under the water. I couldn’t reach the bottom, so
if he let go I’d of had to wade while he stood on his
own.
"Mr. Nice Guy really likes you, did you know that?"
I let my hands rest on
his shoulders. "I kind of hoped he did."
He leaned in for a kiss right as someone jumped in the pool and
made a huge splash. We looked up and seen Cliff flicking his hair
out of his face and Abbie laughing on the side of the pool. I
didn’t notice, but while Mason was holding me, he took us
to the middle of the pool. That meant I couldn’t reach
Abbie and drag her
in.
"It’s Jacuzzi
time!" She said, running over to the hot tub.
I
looked at Mason and he shrugged. "I don’t care if you
don’t."
"Let’s
go." He carried me to the end of the pool with the stairs
and I locked my legs around his waist so he would carry me to the
Jacuzzi. He grinned and continues without hesitation.
"You two are so cute! Cliff! Why didn’t you carry me
out of the pool?" Abbie smacked him and Mason and I
laughed.
"Because you
weren’t in the pool!" He sat down next to her and
slammed his arm around her neck.
"I guess that’s a good enough reason," she
teased.
I was still in
Mason’s arms and instead of letting me go when we were in
the hot tub, he spun me around
and I was sitting on his lap. Awe!
"So why did you two disappear after those one dudes were at
the shop? I didn’t even know they were there until they
were gone."
Mason and Cliff exchanged
glances and I covered up for them. "We were hungry, so we
went out for a quick dinner. Then we came back here and did
boring old homework before we came out here. You two got here
right as we started swimming."
Mason squeezed my waist in thanks and I leaned my head back
against his chest. Then realization just hit me! "You never
took me to see your cars!"
