Chapter 2
~Twenty minutes later~
“Babe, we are here now” Jake said, “Oh my god I totally forgot about Sarah and Tamika, And mom think I have gone to school. I am going to be in so much trouble.” Jake ignored me and led me out of the limo. I looked around and seen a huge hall. “What are we doing here Jakey?”, lets walk in and you can find out. We walked into the doors of the hall, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!” yelled everyone in the hall. “Oh gosh Jake, you did all this, for me?! All my family and friends are here, how did you manage babe? How long ha-” I said whilst being interrupted, “Don’t you worry, now go say hello to everyone. I walked around the hall, talking to old mates of mine, drinking my favourite flavoured soda, cola. “So Kate, how you liking the party so far?” Said Tamika. “I love it, it’s good to know what great friends I have.” I guess I spoke to soon, my breathe was getting short, the room was blurry yet spinning. What was happening to me? Suddenly everything went blank, I couldn’t see anything except black, everything was so quiet. I woke up moments later, did I pass out? Hang on, where am i? As I observed around the room I was in I noticed I must have been at the hospital. My eyes drifted over to the clock with date on it, it was midday. I also realised it wasn’t my birthday anymore. I have been knocked out for what, 20 hours?
I hear people whispering behind the curtain, it sounded like Jake and Sarah, they must be worried sick. I went to speak but I tuned in on their conversation. “we can’t tell Katie about what happened yesterday” Said Jake, “but she has to know!”, “NO, she can never find out that we… did it”. My eyes filled with tears, my boyfriend cheated on me! And to make it worse, he cheated on me with my best friend! I start to sob a little. All of a sudden, Jake walks in the room. “What’s wrong babe” Jake said, sounding like he cared, “oh nothing Jake, my head just hurts” wait, did I just say that to him? Why didn’t I slap his face? Why didn’t I kick his shins? I guess I want to keep it on the sly until one of them breaks. The doctor came in and noticed I was awake. He started examining my body and taking notes. “Hi Katie, my name is Doctor Jones, your body has a bad case of alcohol poisoning.” My doctor said seriously. “How can I have alcohol poisoning when I didn’t even drink?”. “well it shows that some has spiked your drink.” he replied. Wait, someone spiked MY drink? It was my birthday who would want to be heartless enough to do that? I was shocked with this news.
